  1. "We're gonna give you this nifty 20% discount, but we're also going to limit your access during the roll out of new rides, attractions and whenever we feel like doing it... That is unless you have purchased the Super Platinum Gold Plated Black Card Annual Pass, which will get you the access to the secret Cinnamon Roll Room at the MK and the front seat beside the lever puller on the Monorail of your choice... "

  2. I agree with Nacole on this as well...  I know your kiddos are very young at the moment, but as they get older, the amount of "stuff" they want to bring along will grow too.  Another thing to think about, depending on how long you plan on keeping this new rig, the kids are going to want to bring their friends along with them on camping trips. Just something to think about.  "It's better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it!"

  3. Ok Gwen, you need to do what the Miller "Queen" and "Princess" does on occasion...  You need to travel like the rockstar that you are!  Get David to drop you off at your kid's in Wake Forest... Send him on his way to the Fort with the dog.  Get your kids to drop you off at RDU and catch a Southwest flight to Orlando.

Let him get to the Fort and get everything set up and in place. You take the 1.5 flight down to Orlando and catch the DME over and get dropped off at the Fort.

Like all rockstars, you let the "roadies" travel ahead and get everything set up, the you swoop in and enjoy the fruits of his labor!

  4. We have a "handle less" mug from Typhoon Lagoon from about 10 to 12 years ago...  Received it "free" just for turning in our towels that we rented at the end of the day...  It's the same style and size as the current handled mugs.   It even has a "pleather" like cover that slips over the body of the mug with Typhoon Lagoon stamped on it.

As for the new mugs, we can go either way...  As any good husband would say: "I have no opinion"

  5. Although its gotten a bit better over the years, I still have to say that the southbound lanes of I-95 between Dillon, SC and Florence, SC have to be the roughest section of road to either drive or pull an RV on.  The concrete seam spacing seems to be just far enough apart to shake your teeth out.  Along with the sections of crumbling and patched concrete add to the ride...

  6. I can see it now.... L,M,A Driver Team Meeting:

"Ok guys, you all know that our show has been cut. In an effort to keep you on the payroll there are several positions throughout the property that you can apply for:

    Bus Driver at Fort Wilderness

Parking Lot Tram Driver at what is left of HS

    Friendship Boat Captain at Boardwalk

Ferry Boat Captain between MK and TTC

    Brown Paint Guy at FW

Applications and job transfer forms can be picked up in the conference room on your way out."

  7. I'm good through November of 2016. This coming November I then will look at the DVC Member renewal price. So far, it hasn't been too painful.

Disney sort of "hooked me up" this past year... For the past several years my renewal date has always been on June 22.  This past  year I called and renewed the AP around the 6/22 timeframe.  I knew I wouldn't get to Disney before our November trip, so just sucked it up and waited.  When we arrived for our recent trip, I went to Disney Springs with my voucher to activate the AP like I was supposed to, and instead of making it active on 6/22, she moved it forward and activated it on day in November that I picked it up. So now this AP will expire in November instead of June...  I thought that was a win!

David wanted to go out to breakfast and I didn't, so he went out alone.  And where did he end up?  Krispy Kreme!  Of all places!  We live in the hometown of Krispy Kreme.  We both grew up eating their food.  We can have it any time we want.  So why go there on vacation?  Beats me.

Now Gwen, you ought to know that men are creatures of habit... we always "go with what we know..."  plus you just can't pass up KK when the hot sign is on!

These next few pictures are especially for Gretchen.  Jo had told me months earlier that she had a piece of china she was saving for me.  She said it was a piece of Czechoslovakian china that was brought over by early Moravian settlers in the 1700s.  This is it:

And the mark.  It's all blurry, and I can't read it.

I've done quite a bit of research since coming home and can't find anything out about this piece.  But I don't think it's nearly as old as Jo thinks it is.  If anyone has any info, I sure would appreciate it!

Not sure if you've checked this place or not, but try Replacements, Ltd. They are supposed to be the largest supplier of replacement china and silverware of anyone...  I know you're not looking for a replacement piece, but they could probably tell you how old the piece is.  They have a huge warehouse and store and are located on I-40/85 on the east side of Greensboro between the 40/85 split and Mt. Hope Church Road.
