  1. You misunderstood me about adjusting the mirrors when we take over a bus. We do adjust them but we don't have a target like the UPS drivers. We do it like you do. As for WDW drivers almost veering into you, they can see you. They expect you speed up or slow down to let them in. As the signs on the Lynx buses read, "let me in, it's the law".
  2. Really, I never would have guessed that you are from NY. You don't sound anything like a New Yorker. Of course you know why we hate the Yankees. They keep winning. Actually I had great respect for George Steinbrenner. We lived in the Tampa/St Pete area for years and knew what he did for the area. Also one of my favorite players is Jeter. Always handles him self like a professional on and off the field. But I still hate them, not as much as the Rays though.
  3. Very nice, looks roomy. That exterior shot with the ice, gray sky, and bare trees, burr.
  4. Very observant. I'm trying to come up with a snarky come back. Let's see, they suck. Almost as much as the Rays. Rays, what kind of a name is that? Isn't that a pizza joint in NY, Ray's Pizza? Ya, I know, Deb's a Rays fan. What does she know, she's from that great baseball town of Buffalo.
  5. Forest Gump said, well kinda. Meeting Fiends for the first time is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Met three more yesterday. PureTCrazy (Rita), Runner (Ed), and Itch. Couldn't find the two others. And of course they're all nice people and made me feel welcome. Had a nice chat for about an hour with Ed & Rita. Met mom, and their son too. The icing on the cake was little Lola. They've had a mixed week weather-wise and it ends tomorrow, but they'll be back. After just entering the Fort, who's in front of me all the way from Michigan, Itch. So I just followed t
  6. Have you seen some of those drivers? They should be pulling a rickshaw. And who is Rick Shaw anyways?
  7. Do you recall how they taught you to make a right turn? The most common mistake I see when someone makes a right hand turn is that they start turning to soon. You should pull out in a straight line for a certain distance before turning the wheel. How much depends on the configuration of the corner. We don't have to worry about backing up because unless it's just a few feet, we are not allowed to back up unless we have a spotter. And that's enforced. It's not advice, it's mandatory if you want to get a bus CDL. You're expected to look at both your mirrors every 12 to 15 seconds. Sounds like
  8. Just released. At WDW we recognize that camping and fitness go hand in hand. In an effort to encourage guests to walk more, bus service within the Fort will not be provided on odd numbered days. In addition golf carts will not be permitted in even numbered loops. Thank you for your cooperation in instituting this worthwhile program.
  9. Sure you do. It's that soapy stuff that Disney sprays in to the air at DHS in Dec.
  10. And don't forget to look up. If you're in the town square at MK before a parade, look for some of the windows on the second floor to open before the parade and then close afterward, kinda spooky.
  11. I stole the idea from Bob. But I'm telling everyone I came up with it first. Hoping it gets me some points.
  12. Well it better be gone by next Thursday. If I see white on the ground, I'm getting back on that plane.
  13. wdwmagic has a WDW CM on staff. That announcement is an exact reprint, and I mean exact, of the release as it appeared on the internal CM website a few days ago. You'd think they'd change some words just in case the Disney people are monitoring.
  14. Just another day at WDW. It was actually a very busy and fun packed day in the WDW Transportation Dept. Or should I say, in the only department that was operating all day, you guessed it, buses. Oh no, it's raining and the wind is blowing, we need to shut down the boats and monorails. But that's ok, the ugly and uncool buses will bail their streamlined and cool little butts out of the fire once again. There, I feel much better now.
  15. The info on the AllEars seems not to jive with the letter Stefa got and what I posted a week ago. Follow the link for the original thread. http://fortfiends.net/forum/index.php?topic=396.msg27630#msg27630
  16. My wife took the Lazy Days course. She described it to me and I didn't recognize any of the techniques, but it made her feel comfortable behind the wheel. I think what is very useful is just go to an empty parking lot and practice turns, parallel parking, backing into a sites. Practice, practice, practice.
  17. What do you mean when does it start? That implies that it ends. Not when you live next door to the Fort.
  18. Gonna stop in Friday afternoon around 4. I'm expecting you to post your site number. Don't make me cummin lookin for you.
  19. Hey Tri B, you can't just post pics. We need names, breeds, ages, etc.
  20. The previous post shows an opening date of July 1. And another previous post shows June 1 to which I responded, that it was going to be closed beyond June 1st. The July 1 date, IMO, is also suspect because it's shown as being closed until the end of June, but it's not showing up as being open on July 1st, it's blank. When an attraction is done being refurbished, shouldn't the hours of operation be on the calendar? So I don't know what's going on.
  21. Great job on this TR Stef, almost like I was there. Oh wait, I was. TCD would be proud of you. Also, I think it's probably for the best that you and Doodlebug didn't meet up. You two would be dangerous together. Most of you haven't met Stef, she is just as much fun in person as she is on here. It's like we were old friends. Hubby Trevor very nice gentleman and son Nathen, nice young man. Oh, Mason their furry child, is such a good dog. And Amanda, very cute. PFC Jordan will get a big kick out of what Stef will be sending him. It was a real pleasure meeting all of them and looking forward to
