Falling off a golf cart isn't too bad.  Now jumping off one in order to race it... that tends to creep up on you the next day.

Hanging out in the morning with the pups drinking coffee... or trying to before they get so excited to go to the dog park their heads explode.
 
Looping - especially around the holidays.
 
Realizing you're out of ice, chucking on your flip flops and jumping in the golf cart to go get more.
 
Hanging out in a rocking chair on the porch with take out drinks from Crockett's.
 
Picnics at the beach with a GAG.
 
Sitting in the sun on the beach.
 
Quiet mornings walking Brady out on the 300 dog walk.
 
Wandering around the flower gardens at the Outpost.
 
Sitting at the Outpost bus stop waiting for a bus to ... pretty much anywhere.

I think most of us are here because we love Fort Wilderness, but if you were a newbie to this forum, you might not believe that. There are a lot of issues with the Fort, but it's still my favorite place to be. So.... what do you love about the Fort? 
 
I love....
 
having a fairly calm and quiet place to escape the craziness of the parks.
 
taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom.
 
watching Z catch lizards and play in dirt. 
 
riding my golf cart to eat dinner at the Settlement. 
 
watching fireworks on the beach.
 
putting Z to bed and sitting around a fire with my hubby.
 
meeting other Fort Fiends!

So for the momentous, and more than a little ridiculous, occasion of my 25,000th post (yeesh!) I figured what better than to pay homage to the place and the people responsible for all my blathering on.  Feel free to join in!
 
I love Fort Fiends because...
 
When I'm having a lousy day, I can always count on a laugh (or 7)
  I get to share my love (ok obsession) with the Fort and Disney parks with people who don't just roll their eyes and make looping motions with their finger alongside their head or ask me "are you going AGAIN?"
  If I have a question, I know someone will have the answer - and then someone will hijack the thread (see point #1)
  There is always a Fiend on the Scene to find out the latest information on what's happening at WDW and the Fort - often complete with photos - and those people aren't shy about texting me that info live as it happens!
  Super fun times ensue when things like a private party at the Fort happens and we get to share minute-by-minute reporting on said event - complete with hilarious commentary
  Two words... GRAND GATHERINGS
  If I want to plan a crazy park "mission," I always know where I can find someone to accompany me, and a bunch of people to cheer me on
  I'm continually amazed by the kindness and compassion of fellow Fiends - from taking up and delivering a pin collection for a little girl no one even knows, to hand delivering a special popcorn bucket to an adorable Fiend 1000 miles away, to dropping everything to come to the rescue of a Fiend that finds themselves in a medical or mechanical bind while at the Fort, to supporting a fellow Fiend that's going through a difficult time... the list goes on. There are so many more reasons, but I'll try and keep this to less than my usual "epic" length and cut to the chase. The number one reason...
 
I've made some wonderful, amazing FrIENDS with people that I never would have met otherwise - interesting, caring, fun, smart, loving, hilarious, fantastic people.
 
As my 5 year old nephew would say (in suitably dramatic fashion)... my heart is full.

To visit other resorts, you can easily take a boat to Wilderness Lodge, and after exploring there, to the Contemporary.  From there, hop to monorail to the Polynesian and then the Grand Floridian.
 
A few months back, I came up with this plan for visiting some of the other resorts.  *PLEASE NOTE* I haven't tried this.  It is just a plan I drew up.
 
Non-Monorail Resort Touring Plan Objective: To spend time visiting Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Boardwalk, and Port Orleans in one relaxed afternoon.  Maybe. Step One: Wilderness Lodge Take internal Fort bus to Settlement. Take boat to WL. Step Two: Animal Kingdom Lodge Boat to MK Bus from MK to AKL Step Three: Boardwalk Bus from AKL to DHS Boat from DHS to Boardwalk (salt water taffy) Step Four: Port Orleans Bus from Boardwalk to DTD Boat from DTD to Port Orleans - Riverside (Piano Bob starts at 8:30p) Step Five: Figure out how to get back to the fort!  LOL

Not sure if I should admit this, but I thought the same until I read a second time.

I designed a 20' overall length camper using Visio. But never pursued how to build it. It was fun to play around and see what kind of limitations there were.

Hong Kong Disneyland already has the Paint the Night parade, and it's a big hit.
 
I just realized the kick-off date is May 22.
 
That's the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.
 
The last two 24 hour events were on that Friday.
 
I think you and Turkey Pants need to call Jason and get your flights scheduled.

:bighug: I wish I could, but this is Sarah's treat for her old (unemployed) mom.  

I like the one your husband likes - but counter space matters to me in a camper and the islands just make me happy on the inside. Which one is your favorite? Wouldn't it be nice if you could go and design your own affordable TT? Like the kitchen design places but for campers? I'd like this length with this many slides. I want this shower and this bathroom sink. If they had a website for that, I would probably never get anything else done.
