  1. It must have been this one that annihilated a tree on our church property... And I'm pretty sure it was this one that left brown streaks in my thong... So just how do you capture lighting in a picture?? These are really neat shots, Dave.
  2. While I find this fascinating and admirable - I couldn't do it. Not that I don't like dogs - I LOVE dogs!! I am not disciplined enough to treat the dogs as working animals and not pets. I've always had this crazy fear of terrorists targeting WDW in a quiet, subversive fashion. I'm not afraid of being at Disney should something like this happen... God forbid... but seriously - what better place to check out of this life than at WDW? My fear is that something that the whole world finds pleasure in could be destroyed in a heart beat by crazy hate-mongers. I'm so glad to hear that Disney takes t
  3. I figured you were here & wondered why you didn't call. Now I know - and all is forgiven!! I wonder why they chose you to deliver the goods - hmmmmm??? I know you must have put up a pretty tough fight not to have to come to Orlando! :rofl2:
  4. Hi, Nancy!! Welcome to the world of camping with cats! We full-timed almost 2 years in our MH & the cats were just fine. We've had 6 Class A MH's since 1996 - 3 used, 3 new - and with each MH we went through them with a fine toothed comb looking for escape routes. In our current MH (2005 Itasca Meridian) there are places under the kitchen & bathroom sinks where, if the doors to the cabinets were left opened, one of the kitties could climb over an open space at the rear of the cabinets and get into the chassis basement. They couldn't escape to the outside - but they could get "lost" in
  5. The 900 loop is a small loop right across the street from Meadow Trading Post. The pool is right behind the trading post. 1300 loop is also small-ish, but you have to go out to the main road to get to the pool - even though there are sites directly across the canal from the pool. 800 loop is LARGE!! If you get a site towards the back of the loop it will be a very long walk to the pool. My vote out of your 3 choices is for the 900 loop. You might also consider the 600 loop - especially the lower numbered sites. Or you could throw caution to the wind and rent a golf cart. There are outside vend
  6. Once the Mem. Day weekend is over the Fort empties out. You should have the place to yourself. And by the way... HOWDY!!
  7. This is a wonderful TR! Full of love, action, and COFFEE!!
  8. I read the report about the Adventurer's Club being torn down and I swear there were tears rolling down my cheeks. This sucks.
  9. Once you cut them, all the points fall out of them. Chow down and enjoy!!
  10. You are evil >:D and delightful all rolled into one, Monique!!
  11. It's that time of year again. Well actually, it's a bit early. Typically they increase prices in August/September. Too bad Disney stock revenues don't increase equally with the ticket prices.
  12. Okay - can anyone tell me where you can find this Mickey?
  13. This death occurred in March while maintenance was being done. The first one was in 2007. Primeval Whirl Closure
  14. Beers Around The World Intoxication Tour We had something like 35 people moving as a pack sampling beer at Epcot. It was one of the best times I've ever had!!
  15. This one is a surprise! There is a whole generation of guests who have no idea that Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was actually an attraction. I'm sure there will be some of the "Toad Removal Protesters" that will scarf these up just for the nostalgia.
  16. Rule #1: Kids should be kept in a closet or a trunk until they reach the age of 18. Then turn them loose on society. If you follow this rule, you don't need no stinkin' strollers. Rule #2: If you can't walk on your own two feet, stay home, or get someone to push you in a wheelchair. This said by someone who has been rammed many times by people too stupid to use an ECV. Yes, I am a curmudgeon - and proud of it.
  17. You seem to have have worked out a nice deal with the KOA. Sounds like there is plenty of things to keep the kids happy and occupied. Meeting people is one of the best things about camping, isn't it? That's one of the reasons we go to the Fort for day trips so often. It's fun to sit on the porch and strike up conversations with people. It's also a bonus when I run into one of the fiends!! Good for you helping out your brother that way!! We had to rely on the "pity" of our next door neighbor 2 weeks ago. Two of the house batteries in our motor home fried. Rick couldn't lift them out
  18. - 0 - Rick's knee replacement surgeries take priority this year. In the meantime, we'll probably buy some "new shoes" for the motorhome. Bye-bye
  19. Ummmm.... I've seen dogs in 2000 & 1500. They were most likely "undeclared" at check-in but, I never noticed anyone confronted and asked to pack & move, or leave. Just so you know...as Steph said October can still be brutally hot. The 2009 Halloween GG was a prime example. It was hitting the mid 90's in the daytime and those of us that attended BATWIT had to drink a LOT to keep our temps down. (That's our excuse and we are sticking with it. :rofl2: ) If you bring your pup, make reservations at Best Friends ahead of time so he is guaranteed a spot. Otherwise, you might be forced to giv
