  1. My dd and I just did our first pass at F&W today. We were using a ranking system of 1-5 (5 best). Here's what we tasted until we got full: Hawaii:Pork slider-4 dd doesn't like mayonnaise and still liked this Desserts&Champ-White choc mousse-5 very good wished it were a bigger portion Greece-Chicken souvlaki-3 it did not look nor taste like chicken, more like a mild sausage Ireland-Cheese selection-4 too much cheese as we did not finish, but saved it for later. Lava cake-5 once again wished the portion was larger. Meade honey wine-5 sweet taste, did not taste the alcohol in it (plus for
  2. I called Kenny to reserve the 6 person cart for January for Marathon weekend. He normally only rents in for full weeks but he did let me have it for the long weekend since I have rented from him in the past. Cost is about $45 day right now.
  3. We saw him Friday with his mama and big sisters all surrounding him to protest him. He's a cutie.
  4. It's a small world was my late mother's favorite thing at Disney. It's also my daughter's. I grew out of it, I hope she does to.....
  5. Thanks for all the suggestions. Now we have a list of things to hit before it's too late. But what is this Gran fiesta tour? never heard of it before?
  6. Our seasonal passes will be expiring On Oct 29. We will be using them to enjoy the F&W festival before they go bye-bye. Not sure if we will renew right now. We're really close to WDW so going for the day is no problem. I think we've enjoyed most or all of the attractions, but that being said, I know there are things I've never tried or noticed. So, what are those things we should try before we can't anymore? I'm going to leave out DTD, restaurants and things we can go to w/o our passes so I think this means strictly the 4 parks. We are a family of 3 with 1 teenager who is finally starting
  7. Where/how do I get a campsite sign? I looked in the store forum but didn't see where to order one. We will be there at Halloween and want a sign for our site! forgive me if it's posted somewhere else, I'm a lurker mostly but really enjoy the snark.
  8. My dd, myself and my MIL are running(me)(them walking) the 5K on Friday. DH, his uncle, and FIL are running 1/2 on Saturday. DH and Uncle are running full on Sunday. If they drive over in morning of 1/2 and full do we really have a chance to take boat to MK then monorail to EPCOT to see them finish? I think for the 5K since it is so short we will all drive. Should I expect problems? We've never taken the buses anywhere and I don't know the schedules so I would be leery of taking them.
  9. Sorry I didn't reply sooner as we were gone for 2 weeks camping again. As to your question about Vicksburg, we stayed at Ameristar RV park in site #40. We were at the Grand Canyon at the end of April(I remember it well because we were supposed to wake up on my dd's birthday and see the sunrise over the canyon but instead we woke up in Winslow, AZ due to a sandstorm closing down I40 for 18 hours. We actually made it to GC later on her birthday. Rafter J was great, for us it was very centrally located. We needed the wi-fi so we stayed in site #218 in Base Camp, we had a PT site. Be warned though
  10. We've been taking pictures of our set ups and parks for a number of years. Check out my webshots for our 50 parks. Most are in FL but last year we did a circle tour of the great west. http://community.webshots.com/user/we3peas
  11. We just got back last weekend. Water was COLD! but we loved it. There is a lot you can do there as well. Canoe/kayaking, fishing, bring your own boat (they have a real nice dock area on St Johns), hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling. We camped in the Hickory loop this time which I liked better than Magnolia because most of Magnolia is a single lane track and I was worried about meeting another vehicle driving in since there is no place to pull over to get by. Hickory is a one way loop so no problems there. It is also a little closer to the spring head. For personal use you can use ReserveAmerica
  12. We have camped with them once at Salt Springs last year for Labor Day. Until last fall they did not plan too far ahead but with a suggestion from me and a few others they are planning 4-5 planned in advance trips a year, which makes it easier for us to get together with them. They are a fun group and love to eat! Good food all weekend. Read their webpage for what they did for an annual trip at Stephen Foster SP. We only tent camped once as a family. That is what convinced my dh to go the RV route with real bed and bath!
  13. Wheels need to roll once a month minimum for us. In May we went to Gamble Rogers SP on the beach, June we head to Manatee Springs SP for cool 72 degree water, July we head up to GA to Unicoi SP to go tubing in the river, and then to Henderson Beach SP based on TCD's trip reports while dd is at Marine Science 4H camp in Destin, then August we go to nearby Kelly Park/Rock Springs for more cool spring water and tubing, then Labor Day to Salt Springs with the NE FL camping club for a summer reunion. We tend to camp every month without fail. MH costs too much to sit still.
  14. Can you tell me what site # you were in? We stayed there just after the hurricanes in 2004 and were in site #2 in loop A and liked it but it was really sunny. I also had never seen so much wildlife inside a bathroom before. As my daughter and I were showering we had a biology lesson about insects and spiders!
  15. Will they customize the food for people who are "picky"? I do not eat eggs or anything from the water and dh really likes his red meat but will eat some seafood stuff. I am willing to try any vegetables but I do like my breads. DH is a chocolate only guy and it better be American chocolate with 1 exception of liking Ghiradelli. So is it hopeless for us to try it? Not worth it?
  16. We just did this trip last Apr-June 2010. Check out our blog: www.curbcrusher.com There's a million pictures and tips and hints on what we did on our trip. Enjoy and have fun! it goes by FAST!
  17. That $5.39 a gallon is by the airport and the 2 stations there have always had at least $1-$2 more than everyone else. They get the people who are returning their rental cars all the time. The city keeps trying to make them post their prices so everyone knows they charge so much. I personally think everything you buy is buyer beware, if you are too stupid to check prices before you fill then you deserve to pay more.
  18. I understand the policy generally but I kept reading on other forums and from people who go often that you can end up with multiple fast passes and I was wondering how can this be? If I FP ride #1 and the window hasn't come around how can I get FP for ride #2 before I use ride #1 FP? I read the trip reports and it sounds like this is a common occurence so I wondered if I understand all the ins and outs of making the system work for me.
  19. Can someone explain to me how the fast passes work? I thought you could only use them between the times stated on the card you get but I keep hearing about how people can get many in one day and can use them multiple times, any time they want, etc. Help me out on how these things work!
