I would love to see the castle lights but we aren't buying our passes until the 5th so I guess we might miss them this year....

Thanks for the replies. I swear I thought I'd read on here (maybe not?) that the castle lights will stay up until the 8th.

Can anyone tell me what times the Castle light shows are and what time the Osbourne lights turn on? I've looked at various sites and cannot come up with this answer. We will be there in Jan (5th-8th) and want to see both if they are still there. TIA

Pam We've passed by SOTB so many times and never stopped but I think the next time we go that way we will. It looks extremely kitschy and DH loves that! It was great meeting you and your family at the wine tasting event. If we had only tasted some wine!

Nicki We did the trip West in Apr-Jun of 2010 (you can read our blog for the trip adventures). The place I most want to go back to is Custer State Park.. WE only got one day there but I know I could have handled more. It was very beautiful. The prairie dogs there weren't as cute as at Devil's Tower though.

We're there for marathon weekend as well. Should be in 1700 somewhere.

I also dreamed about going on the road for an extended time. I do only have 1 child though. We did a trip last year that lasted 60 days. Twice during the trip my DH left us to go home and work to afford for us to finish the trip. Let's just say a menopausal woman and a preteen girl (she was 12) should NOT be stuck with each other 24/7. My DD did HS for about 1/2 the trip since she was doing FLVS online while traveling. She also did every Jr Ranger book we could find on our trip and finished about 40 of them. After we got home we had a serious discussion about selling the MH. I did not want to

My DD had this on her bucket list when she was 12 and we were on our trip out West in April 2010. She got her wish. The state of Arizona kicked everyone off I-40 because of a huge windstorm with gusts up to 75 mph. Everyone stayed in the Walmart parking lot. There wasn't a space left to park by 11 pm. My daughter forgot to wish this for her birthday because that's when we stayed overnight at the Winslow, AZ Walmart. Instead of waking up at the Grand Canyon and seeing the sunrise for her birthday we woke up to 300 18 wheelers starting their engines racing to get back on I-40! Luckily my family

If you HS in FL NO state tests required, they are only 1 of your 5 options. And it's the one 99% of HS don't do. Most go the way of a portfolio. I'm different, my child takes a nationally standardized test each spring(Not the FCAT). If you want to HS in FL check out www.FPEA.com.

Unlike other Fiends we really like the quieter loops. We were in 1219 for Halloween and we loved that site. Will be asking for it again soon!

Hopefully your older kids could watch the youngers for short periods of time. I know the most stressful thing I did was spend 24/7 with my then 12yo DD last summer. We took a long circle trip of the West and DH flew home twice during that trip. You need a break occasionally- so take a walk around the loop or sit at the beach or shop in the store for 20 minutes a day. It saves your sanity. My DH is the buffer sometimes between us and w/o him it became stressful at times.

Thanks, keep checking back because we camp every month and we are always adding new pics of the sites we stay at. This month it was Oak Grove in Pensacola which is a military only park to watch the blue angels fly.

We've been a few times. The last few years they also added an ice skating rink as well. This year's theme is Shrek. It changes every year. They always do a story on it in the Orlando Sentinel. The artisans are Chinese and they start working on it in late October because it takes so long for the colored ice to freeze. I think it is a good show but I also hate to pay for parking, which is always very crowded.

Does anyone have any new info about off property golf cart vendors and if they are allowed to bring in carts? We're renting in January so if anyone has new info from TDay or Christmas it would be appreciated.

There are no fireworks from Church street. The place is practically a ghost town now.

We go out at 6 pm on Black Friday. Except for the very limited deals (2 in every store junk) we've been lucky with what we wanted and were able to find it. I hate crowds and by 6 pm they are usually gone and DH and I get the store to ourselves.

My DD wants to do this SO bad. But she is only 13 and I think their age is 16.

My dd is 13 and we still do the Kim Possible missions in EPCOT. We pick a different country each time. Originally you would have o go to 4-5 countries to find all the clues now I think it is confined to just one, and when that mission is over you can re-up for another one.
