  1. DH just finished running the Daytona 1/2 marathon. It was crazy cold for FL 34 degrees? His time was 2:33 and he got to run with one of his favorites Michael Waltrip on the track.
  2. Sorry that is exactly what he has. We're getting rid of all our photo albums as they take up way too much space. Goal is to be done by April 2013 so we can donate our bookshelves to our youth rummage sale at church.
  3. My dh is scanning every one of our old film pics and turning them into digital ones. He sits and watches TV every night while he runs boxes of photos through. And don't believe that everyone was more economical with film...he has always taken a boatload of pics just to get the "right" one. On our honeymoon we had over 20 rolls of film to process. Now imagine having your first and only baby.....how many is that?
  4. Wow DD has been in the boneyard countless times. Never knew there was a sandbox in there. Glad she never found it. We had an experience with a Mom's day out that had a sand playground. I think we were able to fill her entire sandbox at home from her shoes every week. Eventually I found another to take her to that had the rubber stuff on the ground. No more sand for us!
  5. The marathon has cut off times. Every runner should finish in 7 hours from the time THEY start. Start times are staggered so everyone doesn't jam up like the 5K does. Now with that being said it is a well known fact that if a runner can make it through HS they are allowed to finish the race at their own speed going through EPCOT. Before HS there are "balloon ladies" that are pacers you have to stay in front of or be picked up. FIL had problems with his run at this point and would run for a minute to stay in front of them then let them catch him and he would run again for a minute until he made
  6. Also last year there were 8500 people in the 5K I guess they let in 2000 more this year. That's a great reason right there not to do one ever again at WDW.
  7. During marathon weekend there is plenty of transportation to the expo and to the races. We're local so for other races my dh has just driven out there. The Fort is NEVER a host resort, we're lucky we get a bus...I know when we got back on after the marathon this year I heard complaints from others that the WL and Poly should have had their own bus and not shared with FW. Like everyone is not all stinky and wet from running the same race.
  8. Carol My dd and I saw you at AK the day you were there. Sorry we didn't stop and say Hi. Looked like you were having fun with your group. It was a foggy day, most of our pictures of Everest look like the real thing.
  9. Fiesty only has lights on her site right now, but soon even that will be gone. She told DH's parents that she's leaving on Jan 18th and going home.
  10. Thanks for taking one for the team on NYE. I would NEVER go into the parks on that night. I'm with Dave. I hate people especially if their trying to breathe my oxygen within my bubble!
  11. That's the only way we come in. Going through the toll booths suck. We got cut off too many times so it's only the back way for us and we are 35+ feet long. I've seen 45 ft ones make it. Just take it slow.
  12. To answer your earlier question...we only went to AK twice once on 12/7 when we saw Carol (but didn't say Hi, soorry Carol) and when our passes expired on 1/5 just to take pics of the AK tree. In 10 years we have never taken a real pic of the tree just the carvings. We'll be at the Fort for marathon weeekend for DH and his dad, uncle and aunt to run the full marathon. Glad my memory is still good after 31 years. It was most humiliating at the time to dance with Tweedle Dee. Glad there are no photos of it!
  13. I believe Tweedle Dee and Dum have their names embroidered on their collars. At least that's what I remember from many moons ago when I was in high school (had just marched in the parade with the HS band) and Tweedle Dee grabbed me and tried to dance with me in front of the castle. I was mortified! Remember I was in HS and all my friends were watching!
  14. We did this last May for my birthday. Had a lot of fun and learned a lot too. DH hates cucumbers but was raving about The Land's. They also try to grow what is used at the restaurants as much as possible.
  15. Just caught up... a few things... Like the photo with Gov Scott. My dd and I met him when she was a FL house page this spring, so I knew you didn't photoshop it. We were at AK the same day (Dec 7) that you were at EPCOT. We don't park hop usually so we missed you but we did have a Carol-Mousekatab sighting. We also went to EPCOT on the 12th just to ride TT and dd gave it a thumbs down. She's kinda retro. Also Nickki, please listen to your brother and don't watch Duke basketball. I'm a big fan of theirs and I really don't want them to lose. That's all.
  16. I'll give you great advice......crock pot liners. They are awesome and really reduce the cleanup. Never camp or cook without them anymore!
  17. Doesn't help us either. We'll be there for Thanksgiving when their having their holiday festival of lights
  18. If he has the carts he will rent them. We've done this several times we stay (usually only for a weekend,we are locals) they are a lot less than WDW's.
  19. This is the first I've ever heard about a shopping pass or a meal pass at a park. How do these work?
  20. We visited F&W today. Glad we didn't go to the soft opening. They still weren't very prepared for the crowds today. Several booths had IT trouble and could only take cash for awhile. Kind of irritating when I had just loaded my gift card so I wouldn't have to handle money. They seemed to fix it as quick as they could. New Zealand booth couldn't find their passport stamp when we went through. They had been open 2 hours at that point. It really started to get crowded after 1 pm, glad we were there early. The weather was hot but not rainy so it was a plus for us. Lots of good new tastes on th
  21. Do you think the Marketplace in Future World would be open as well? I wanted to shop for some wines there that are hard to find. If not I can get them later when we go again.
  22. I would love to know if this is happening for sure. DD14 and I have plans to go on Friday but we can easily change it to tomorrow (love homeschooling!) we aren't going for the events just the food so we wouldn't miss anything. What hours do they do the soft opening usually?
  23. We are doing this cruise but from Denali to Vancouver on Princess in September 2013. I hear we'll be some of the youngest people on board and I've warned dd14 she might be the only teenager.
  24. I showed my dd the towel monkey. she said it was a turkey too!
