  1. Just beware of the sand sites at HISP. We were there last summer and a really nice Diesel got stuck all the way up to the tops of their tires in the soft sand. They had to bring in a tow truck to get them out.
  2. Well since we live just down the road we don't over plan either. We save the brochures and I ask my DD what she wants to do and where, she picks 5 things and we try to hit those but may change on a moment's notice. We usually don't park hop, I have a low tolerance for long days. We usually go for about 4-5 hours only. Tomorrow we are going to MK just to try the new Sorcerer's game to see what it's all about.
  3. I also have never had to give an AAA or AP number when booking or checking in.
  4. Can I just say I HATE the carpeting! Way too busy for my taste, and if you drop something on it you'll never find it again! I like my rooms calming and relaxing not like popping a speed pill...
  5. They even quoted your TR on Voldemort. TCD is a classic!
  6. You could drive your GC at Grayton to the beach. There is a parking lot for day people there as well as bike racks.
  7. Topsail is a FLSP so you should be able to drive your GC in the campground area. As far as I know they are now allowed in all FLSP's. There's just no place to park it at the beach.
  8. UCF has really changed. I unfortunately graduated from there. When I was there we had to park in dirt lots, not nice parking garages. My car would get stuck at least once a week and I would have to wait for a nice hero-type person to come save me. We also had people who sharked us for parking spaces no matter where you were parked because there were never enough. Now they have a fancy bus system that goes to all the nearby apartments and picks up kids. Every classroom seemed like a mile away from each other. Wait-they were, that's how they were able to build all that other stuff. As for size-w
  9. What is that Chip's wearing? Why do animals have to wear clothes? Why can't they be like Stef?
  10. Actually Grayton is spitting distance from Seaside. That's why we chose it for our DD's stay at 4H summer camp. We are mucho frugal and could stay at $26 night vs. having to sell our souls and stay in Seaside. We got all the fun at about 1/4 the price. We checked out Henderson as well. It is nice and in the middle of all the action but we preferred Grayton since we had to stay a week and didn't want to have just partial hookups.
  11. Try Grayton State Park in Destin. Nice sized sites, FHU in the newer loop and a beautiful beach.
  12. Had this one today and DD and the cafe de leche? one. Both were very good but too sweet to finish in one sitting for us. Dessert after dinner later.
  13. Saw this on Wednesday when we went to Portobello's for dinner. What;s going on with Basin? The whole thing is closed up. Refurbed or new shop to open?
  14. We rented one a few years ago. 2 things: don't sit kids on your lap or the water po-po will stop you and give you a warning and rent at the end of the day, we got an extra 1/2 hour since they had to clean all the boats before closing so the CM told us to continue cruising when we went to turn it in.
  15. We've always taken our own food. Never had a problem. We only eat at Disney if it's a special occasion. My DD learned early on that we weren't going to buy everything she saw when we went to Sea World or Disney. She doesn't even ask (except for the GAG at FW!)
  16. He is scheduled to be in the area on Jan 19th, it has been reported by the news outlets. I'm just glad it's not on the 18th since that's my DH's bday and I don't want to hit any snags in traffic getting around on Wednesday.
  17. Yeah and it was just family. We talk to them all the time. You should have joined us. The more the merrier!
