  1. Good job on the owl pictures. We heard them but ended up only getting a picture of a red shouldered hawk (which live in our backyard-rather have the owl).
  2. Good to know Lou and thanks for another option. I like close parking and not waiting in line either.
  3. I think that was the night I didn't sleep because I've heard you have to get up pretty early to scoop TCD! Glad I beat you to something, I didn't think it was possible (probably be the last time though...)
  4. I know there is a customer service desk in DTD but can you purchase your tickets there as well or do you still have to go to the ticket booths at each park? I want to do the monthly payment thing for our annual passes and was hoping to stay out of the park crowds when I did this. Thanks for the help.
  5. I was surprised when we stopped by the tattoo event there were no Disney tattoos! Boo on Disney! I don't want some generic tattoo...
  6. Carol What site did you get at Anastasia? We're always in the front loop nearest the beach but want to change for future trips. We really liked some of the back sites better, more shade and a lot more room!
  7. Go for it Ed, Maybe you could racewalk it instead. Some of those people are faster than runners anyway. I admire anyone who can do more than a 5K. I said I would never run unless someone was chasing me trying to kill me because I hate it so much, but I've done about 7 5K's in the last few years and I do enjoy them...especially when they are over!
  8. It was good to meet everyone as well. Hopefully we will meet again in January, we'll be in FHU then since we will have 2 other family groups with us as well.
  9. Hey TCD your one gator didn't stand up very well to the rain did it? I think I took this picture on Saturday when we were looping... maybe they all had too much of Stefa's punch? They seem to be leaning, especially vampire Mickey, if it wasn't for the tree he'd be hugging the ground!
  10. Yeah the toe hurt but I was more worried about the sandals because they were going to be part of my Halloween costume later. Had to work hard to get the blood out of the leather. Girl's got to have priorities right? I love that there is wildlife at the Fort. We don't normally stay at RV resorts, FW is probably the only one we have ever gone back to. Usually the people are stuffy and don't know how to have fun so getting a few days at FW is great especially since we've always seen some sort of wildlife while we were there. I think next year if we are there we will compete in the carving contest
  11. TCD we didn't do many of the Fort's activities this year but I remember last year we did go to the Mummy Wrap. My DD had a blast wrapping all that TP around and then shedding it as she ran the race. I was surprised the field was cleaned up so fast after the event. Like it never happened...
  12. But we did charge something when we went to DTD. Still no bill though...and I was told at check in they would put one on the vehicle on the morning we left.
  13. Well I'm having trouble locating the cord to get the pictures off the camera so any pics of DTD will have to wait. Let's just say we enjoyed it, we ate at Earl of Sandwich then shopped at World of Disney, and there's a new store since we've been by there called the Spice and Tea Exchange that shares space with Mickey's Pantry that we will be back to get some items for Christmas. The girls loved Ghiradelli since they were handing out full size candy bars on Halloween. We stopped in for me to get my pumpkin spice chocolates and ordered a couple of sundaes to eat. After that fattening repast we h
  14. 10/31 Our final day -Halloween This day starts with a steady rain. In fact I thinked it rained until almost 11 am. So we just made the best of it and watched our Charlie Brown Halloween DVD that we had brought along. When it cleared up DH and I did another bike tour. This time we made it all the way to the Wilderness Lodge. We walked around the lobby and shops, one of the cast members was standing at the entrance giving out candy. We eventually walked into the Roaring Forks and found a contest had happened here: There were some really creative ideas for the hats. After seeing the winners
  15. Karla so glad we met you, Paul and Aiden. hopefully we will see you at the Fort again soon.
  16. This year it was set up at the stage where the sing-a-long happens. I think in previous years it might have been in the Meadows store. I know they usually have the cast members pumpkins in there, but this year we only saw 2 pumpkins on Friday and by Saturday they were gone. When we went to POR they had about a dozen cast members pumpkins displayed in their lobby.
  17. We didn't hear any music then but late at night when the wind was whispering through the trees we could hear faint strains of.....hippie music! :raspberry:
  18. Well we continued on our way until DH said he was too tired so he left me and went back to take a nap. This is how I found him on my return.... I continued on my way down to the wilderness. Mission to see more animals, since DH said he saw bunnies, and armadillo, an owl, and several deer this morning while running Saw these 2 and they posed so prettily for me. Had enough of looping at this point and returned to find DH sleeping and thought a nap was a great idea so I took one too. My DD and her friend were out wandering around the Poly trying to make a better Dole Whip then I did. Her frien
  19. On to Sunday 10/30.... Today is the day where DH gets in his long run. He is following the Jeff Galloway plan for marathons. He ran the Disney marathon last January and said it was crossed off his bucket list. Well...he actually enjoyed it so much he's coming back for more this January and bringing the whole family. To help his dad get in shape he said he would run the 1/2 marathon with him and invited his Uncle(dad's brother) and wife to run as well. DD, myself and MIL are in the 5K on Friday. DH, Uncle, Uncle's wife, and FIL are in the 1/2 on Saturday and DH and Uncle are running the full m
  20. You sound like my DH Doodle. The more gravy the better. I always have to make 2 batches. 1 just for him. I know in the South where DH is from they put gravy on everything, nobody ever wold ask "do you want gravy?" cause they would already be pouring it on for you!
  21. Loved the cornbread..have some for me!
  22. Anything near Thonotassa should work if they are not already booked up. Here's a few: http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Florida/Thonotosassa.html
