  1. I was fortunate to be seated with a gentleman from Clean the World on a Disney Cruise. He explained how it works (what great win-win-win idea) and although it may give you the willies to think about, the process sterilizes the soap so it is safe to use: I assume that the process also removes Orlando tourist sweat.
  2. I was unhappy with the zigzag and the board was a little misshapen, so I did a little more work on it. Hope you like it!
  3. This is a magnet set that together hopefully makes the door look like an airlock with Buzz looking out. You could probably put Buzz in your fridge with it, too. First image is the general idea, the last two are to be cut in half and the pieces aligned.
  4. They do not "fingerprint" you. Disney's use of biometrics is designed with the knowledge that it must be usable to get thousands of guests through the turnstiles with as little impact as possible. As Lou points out, the image of your thumb is not kept, a numerical value derived from it is kept instead. The process is coarse enough that it can be done quickly, and won't balk if you place your thumb a little differently or you spent too much time in the pool before hitting the parks. It is coarse enough that the numeric value for your thumb is shared by many other guests--but fine enough tha
  5. Maybe we could graft these threads onto this board? http://www.fortfiend...-your-wdw-trip/ http://www.fortfiend...done-done-done/ http://www.fortfiend...-shirt-designs/ http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/5608-cruise-magnets-and-t-shirt-designs/
  6. Oh, I zigs and I zags, I to's and I fro's. That's what you're askin' and that's what you knows.
  7. The first announcer was Jack Wagner, known as "the voice of Disneyland." His voice is also found in the monorails at Orlando International, I believe. After hearing his iconic warning to stand clear of the doors so many times, I have become a big fan. My wife suggested I get a haircut like Jack Wagner once; I was pleased till I realized she meant the soap opera Jack Wagner. Jack's son Mike's voiceovers are found at Disneyland Paris.
  8. I just read an e-mail from DCL that mostly contradicts what they have on their website about Palo's dress code. The more refined dress code is:
  9. Is this the monorail mascot, Lou? Many people don't realize how long the rumor of monorail expansion has persisted. I think my Florida History book mentioned that the first record of the monorail rumor was in a letter between Chief Osceola of the Seminoles to the Spanish governor of Florida.
  10. I forgot to mention that we should keep this info away from Lou. Yeah, i know it's not going to happen, that's why I added that the rumor is out there again.
  11. I should be in the weight loss support thread, but I like it here better.
  12. Of the four dinners in the Main Dining Rooms, one meal will be "dress up", which is a step down from semi-formal. Disney describes it as "jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women," but as a gracious host they will not hesitate to seat you unless you wear something grossly inappropriate. My experience of others' dress on formal night was cruise casual to tuxedos and gowns; semi-formal night had casual, polos/button-downs, cocktail dresses and smart pantsuits, and suit jackets and blazers. This is my long-winded way of suggesting that a jacket wouldn't be necessary, but may add to your expe
  13. Just blue-sky wannabe imagineering, but what kind of DVC buildings do you think would match the Fort best? The Wilderness Lodge villas are supposed to resemble old railroad era hotels, which I don't think will match very well. I was thinking garrison-style buildings: http://www.preservationnation.org/assets/photos-images/preservation-magazine/fortnumberfour.jpg Or how about giant tipis? Would that be too "campy"? LOL Perhaps Algonquin-style longhouses would work? They could be scaled up and still match Fort Wilderness's theme.
  14. You are going to have a great time. We just went on our first ever cruise last year, on the Magic. I may not be able to answer all your questions, but feel free to ask, anyway!
