  1. My apologies, TCD - I figured you had been to Action Park back in the day or had at least heard of it from your time in NJ. It was nuts. Can't wait to see more of the Key West Trip!
  2. [threadjack] Did you see that Traction Park is back open this summer, under the original name and with the son of the original owner running it? I bet I still have scars from alpine slide road rash. Apparently it's safer but they still have some of the original attractions - tarzan swing included. I'd LOVE to see a TCD Traction Park trip report [/threadjack]
  3. Hey, you're in my parade spot! That's our favorite watching spot too, for the reasons you've mentioned. When the kids were little we could park the stroller there in the shade.
  4. We went to Paris for two days on our honeymoon trip; the people were not all that welcoming to tourists. We went to one little cafe for a late dinner and got blown off repeatedly, until my wife cleared her throat and ripped the server a new one in fluent and heated French. See, she lived in Paris for a while and had both worked and gone to school in France at different times. Service was much better after that.
  5. Next year my goal is at least the 10 or maybe the half.
  6. Carol - Awesome! Have a great time! Lots of great places to eat, drink and visit. I totally agree with TCD - subway, walk or taxi just about everywhere.
  7. Just saw a blip on another board about Kouzzina closing later this year (Sept. 30th was the date given)? Could this mean the return of Spoodles? Anyone heard any more info on this? I've heard consistently mixed reviews about Kouzzina's food and service so I can't say I'm surprised. I do like the Boardwalk in the evenings though, so another nice restaurant would be a plus.
  8. That's basil. We make that salad all the time, but i would never have thought to put it in a push pop, lol.

  10. I think my issue is more that creating FP+ 'experiences' and 'FP+ only' areas will soon become the norm, but i suppose it's not much different than the reserved seating for Fantasmic! that you can get as part of a dining package.
  11. Didn't see a post here in the construction forum so I wanted to mention it. Interesting discussion going on in another forum about the draining of the moat around the castle and filling in of part of it by Casey's Corner (the first aid area) and the opposite side heading towards Tomorrowland. It appears they are creating FP+ viewing areas in addition to expanding the walkways. FP+ is here to stay whether we like it or not... Here's a link: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/moats-around-cinderella-castle-to-be-drained-for-refurbishment-starting-tomorrow.880663/ Apologies if this has be
  12. Our double jogger got use long after it was needed to lug two kids around. 1 cranky kid + cooler on halloween allowed both the adults and the older siblings to enjoy the evening.
  13. How does this DVC resort stack up against the other DVC - number of rooms, size, etc? Is it comparable? It seems awfully large to me for a timeshare only project, but Uncle Walter's company is all about the benjamins. Why sell a room once when you can sell it over and over again. Is there a chance that this is another disney resort with a DVC component, or is it all DVC all the time?
  14. There would have to be a new guard gate somewhere though, no? Otherwise the lazy river pool will be full of locals and the parking lot will be full of pioneer hall guests that didn't want to walk.
  15. I could be wrong, but from what I've seen posted the DVC entrance will come from the WL side, not the fort side.
  16. Looking at that huge parking lot still makes me sad. Someone mentioned earlier that Disney is good at screening, but at all the resorts the lots are near the front entrance. Unfortunately here, the front entrance is at odds with the existing fortscape (look, a new word) around Pioneer Hall. Maybe the barrels will return. I didn't look too closely, is the River Country wagon coming back?
  17. Worst idea ever. Cameron is a prima donna. The only interesting thing about this is what the hell Joe Rohde will hang from his ear when this project is underway.
  18. Now it's new news! http://www.chipandco.com/dvc-resort-plans-river-country-area-181856/
  19. Yep. looks like he must have gotten a C&D letter from Uncle Walter.
  20. Anyone know offhand how many stories BLT and the new Four Seasons are? I think WL is 5 or 6.
