  1. Yep. I certainly wouldn't want to get too close to one of those panthers. Or a cougar. Those are even scarier, especially if they've been drinking. Although I've got a nagging suspicion that this may be the April Fool's reference TCD was referring to, because I can't see him ever *NOT* going back in to River Country. Of course, I could be completely wrong, and TCD will get his cousin Yuri to act as panther bait for the next round of photos. Either way, Yikes!
  2. Great report as always! Glad you didn't lose your photos. I've always been worried about that with digital cameras; it's not like the old film ones where you have negatives to fall back on.
  3. I have to confess. I drag my kids to the country bear jamboree every trip. I have a soft spot for it.
  4. Not to threadjack, but for those who haven't seen the mosaic mural it is breathtaking. Here are a couple of pics from 2010 that I took, trying to get as much of it as I could.
  5. Wow! A Bonus TCD special report! Will they make it? Will the fog ever burn off? Will they survive the terrors of Disney after Dark? Will TCD put his mad climbing skills to work in the MK? Tune in, faithful readers... :pc:
  6. Great trip report so far! Can't wait to see the next installment!
  7. Here's what I have for an outdoor projector setup: I have a cheapo home theater system with surround sound that I picked up for no more than $100 at Target. It has a DVD player and 5 speakers with 100w per channel. I bet you could pick up something similar at Best Buy or Costco. That is plugged into a Dell 2400MP projector [about $300 on ebay, currently] and projected on a 12' diagonal screen [also from Target, http://www.target.com/p/Camp-Chef-120-Outdoor-Movie-Screen/-/A-12276917#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink ]. I think the screen was about $150 when i bought it but it looks like the price has gone
  8. {threadjack} I live in CT, about a half hour from NYC. I had season tickets for the Pats for years, until munchkin #3 arrived. Hard to give up 8-10 sundays a fall after that point. Make way for Gronklings! [/threadjack] Sorry, Andrew.
  9. Great Trip Report! Loved the campus photos as well. I'd love to get a couple of those new FW mugs on the next trip. i hope they stil have them! I'm glad to see some FW merchandise making it back to the shops. More Please!
  10. It turned out great. Throw in a little cole slaw and some extra bbq sauce, winner winner pulled pork dinner! On to the game!
  11. TCD has inspired me. This recipe is on tap for serving during the Pats/Broncos game tomorrow. I've got a bottle of Stewart's root beer and a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's and am curious see how this turns out. There is no applesauce. Yet. Hopefully there will be.
  12. TCD, thank you very much for posting this. I too find that music relaxing and amazing. Thanks also to Wendinator for finding the artist. I need to put that on my to-find list!
  13. Looks like that spankula holder is abusing that poor tree already. Hate to see what happens later.

  15. Did anyone catch this post over at Imaginerding last month? http://www.imaginerding.com/2011/12/fort-wilderness-wreath-how-to-make-your.html Pretty neat. Not sure how authentic it is. Maybe it was back then. I like the ones posted in everyone's trip reports, with the lantern lights and marshmallow men.
  16. Great trip report as always. I wish i was blessed enough to be closer and be able to visit as often as you. Enjoy it whenever you can!
