  1. I bought from CrankyApe a few years ago and overall I was happy with the purchase. The biggest thing to remember is that you're buying AS-IS WHERE-IS and their descriptions are hit and miss so you kind of want to check it out in person (or get someone else to do it) which isn't always easy or cheap to do. Ours had a lot of issues that weren't mentioned (a few I could tell from the pics, some I couldn't) but I do think I got a very good deal so I wasn't too concerned about it. The part that bugged me as that I saw other coaches that had similar issues as ours and it was detailed in their's bu
  2. Thanks for the info - never knew you could even do that (last time we checked in at the Fort, it took a LONG time ...)
  3. I guess it's hit and miss. My older son (7 but with ASD so likes a lot of things that are really for younger kids) loved it. We had a Fastpass so didn't need to go in but he wanted to anyway. For some reason the attendant didn't let him in at that time - maybe I didn't understand her correctly and she was just saying that he didn't need to wait there but it seemed to me like she wasn't letting him go in so we went on the Dumbo ride and then just went back through the regular queue to go to the waiting area playpark. My son played for a long time before I got him to leave and then we just w
  4. I've seen a few of these messages but I don't get it - if you go to disneyworld.disney.go.com and go to Tickets&Packages->BuyParkTickets and select BuyNow, you still get the 'No Expiration Option' or if I go through 'Price your vacation' and book through that, it's available there as well ...
  5. For anyone hoping to get one of the cable modems, just keep in mind the availability seems quite limited. We were there last week but we were never able to get a cable modem despite being on a waiting list and there were a lot of empty sites (so it's not like the park was at capacity)
  6. Where else are you camping when you're not at the Fort?
  7. Thanks for the info. That's a shame but I'm sure they'll find other ways to keep themselves amused. Next year I'll have to book further ahead to be able to get a site over the holidays!
  8. Strange question but when do people take their XMas decorations down at FW? We're arriving on Jan 10th and my kids love checking out all the decorations but it just occured to me that we might be too late (We had initially planned on being there around the New Year but I couldn't get a reservation so decided to change our dates around).
  9. We stayed at Cypress Campground and RV Park (http://www.cypressca...d.com/index.htm). I think we drove around to check out the other ones and preferred this one (FWIW, I think we did drive through Hammondell and my wife didn't like it as much but I don't remember why). Also more of a seasonal place but we thought it was nice enough and it wasn't too expensive. There might be a shuttle / bus to LegoLand but we just drove the mh and parked in the bus lot. There's also a nearby Walmart which is convenient for us as we weren't towing our car. I don't think you'd need to spend more than a day a
  10. As far as sticking it to the windshield, we just have the corners of the sticker peeled off and could probably remove it quite easily (when I originally got it, I had planned on maybe moving it to our car but we never ended up doing that).
  11. Just wanted to put up a quick update. Ended up going to AK with the kids. They did enjoy themselves (I think my oldest one would have happily spent the whole day at the BoneYard) and we were there pretty much from open to close so we had things to see and do but they didn't love it as much as MK so next time we'll go back to MK. Sadly we missed the LionKing show (we were never around at the right time and ended up missing the last show) and skipped the BugsLife because my son got scarred when it started.
  12. FWIW and for anyone thinking of going next year, we spent Easter weekend at FortWilderness. We arrived Sat. afternoon for check-in and it was quite fast. The campsite seemed quite busy but there were sites available. The pool was INSANE (looked like standing room only) and there was quite a people around in general but the campfire wasn't full and we went to AK on Easter Sunday and it was actually pretty quiet. Longest wait was about 30-45 minutes for Kali but the rest seemed to be under 10 minutes.
  13. +1 We have a 18' boat on a tandem trailer. The whole thing might weigh 2200lbs and it's almost impossible to make any sort of turn (even on cement which slips more than pavement and with 3 or 4 people). Also moving a trailer on flat isn't too bad but if you have any sort of curb or incline on your driveway, it's real hard to make it up. Also, once you get the thing moving, you have to stop it somehow. Take JohnnyB's advice and use your car. If it's also that you don't feel that comfortable backing and maneuvering into your driveway (I'm the first to admit that I'm TERRIBLE at it. I usual
  14. Thank you for all the great responses. Based on your info we'll try it out - I think the younger one will really love it and I'm pretty sure there's enough there to keep the older one interested too. Kind of wish we had gotten ParkHopper though since if we had, it would be a no brainer - try AK, if it isn't working out, head back to another park. When I bought the tickets, I was just thinking that when my wife and I went before kids several years ago, we got ParkHopper but never used it cause we'd just spend the day at one and then were done.
  15. Hi, I suspect this gets asked a lot but didn't find it in the search. We'll be in Orlando at the end of the month and going to Disney for the day. Since we went to Magic Kingdom last fall (which was great with the kids), we were thinking of going to Animal Kingdom this time but weren't really sure if there was enough suitable for young children (5 years old (autistic so really has the maturity and interest of a typical 3 or 4 year old) and 1 yr old). Is it worth it to spend a day at AK or are we better off just going back to MK again? Let me know. Thanks, Mike.
