Two ships will sail from Port Canaveral near Orlando, Florida, and a third ship will depart from Miami. Every cruise from Florida includes a visit to Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay.
Departing from Port Canaveral, the Disney Wish will sail into 2023 with three- and four-night voyages to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay. Cruises aboard Disney’s newest ship combine enchanting new entertainment and storytelling, with the unparalleled service and magical moments that guests love when sailing with Disney.

From Miami, the Disney Dream will embark on an assortment of four- and five-night cruises to locales including Grand Cayman, Nassau, Castaway Cay and Cozumel, Mexico. Even more private island enjoyment is on deck with one special five-night cruise that includes two stops at Castaway Cay.
On all Florida departures, Guests can delight in a voyage that provides something for every member of the family, combining the adventure and relaxation of tropical destinations, the ease and indulgence of an ocean cruise, and the world-class entertainment and service of a Disney vacation.
Tropical Escapes from Texas and New Orleans

Departing from the heart of The Big Easy, along the mighty Mississippi River, the four-, five- and six-night sailings will call on the tropical destinations of Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
Before or after their Disney cruise, Guests can venture into the Crescent City to savor the distinct flavors of famous New Orleans cuisine, revel in the sweet melodies of world-renowned jazz music and recognize the iconic sights and sounds that inspired the beloved animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”
All early 2023 Disney Magic voyages include two or three days at sea to enjoy the unlimited fun, entertainment, relaxation and memories onboard.
Baja Peninsula Getaways from San Diego

The Disney Wonder will return to the West Coast, sailing from San Diego in April and May. Cruises to Baja, Mexico and the Mexican Riviera will transport Guests to sunny shores filled with vibrant culture, glittering sand beaches, active outdoor adventures and exciting water activities.
Sailings from San Diego will range in length from three to seven nights. Some sailings to the Baja peninsula will call on the charming coastal city of Ensenada, known for its turquoise blue water and rugged mountainous terrain. Many departures will include a visit to Cabo San Lucas, a favorite destination with dramatic rock formations and white sand beaches.

A seven-night itinerary will sail to Mazatlan, the “Pearl of the Pacific," filled with breathtaking natural wonders, thriving culture and colorful history, and to Puerto Vallarta, the beautiful seaside escape nestled along the curve of the Banderas Bay and bordered by the stunning Sierra Madre mountains.

Does anyone know if the walking path between the campground and Wilderness Lodge is open?

Trying to figure out different ways to get to Wilderness Lodge for dinner without taking the bus.  I think the resort boats are running, so that would be a second option.  We really prefer walking.

It is not open and I don’t believe the resort loop boats have restarted. The only option right now is the bus to Wilderness Lodge.

  3. Does the total number of people fit on their at one time?  I am guessing not. If it is all one length of stay there is no way ahead of time to get everyone on the reservation for certain portions of time.

With that said you don’t need a reservation to make Park Passes. And for dining unless it is a prepaid meal you only need a lead guest.

the o lot thing you can look at doing for the people coming and going is adding as Day Guests once you are checked in if it puts you over your totals.

Saw this one.  What was her name....Nancy, I think.  She was on a fb page and told me/others that Disney had overbooked, that they were not going in any particular order (for example, those who booked last month are being called before those who booked last year) and that they would either do this until the numbers balanced or there was a chance when guests arrived, that there would not be a spot for them.  Insane.

No one has called us (I imagine you would be the one calling me...?).  We have crazy pup Simon and a rig, so not as easy for Disney to entice as (for example) a family in a tent with no pets.

As far as I know they would reach out to me but I havent had any yet. They have moved people with pets who were willing as Riverside is Dog friendly.

Is it optional or mandatory? If it is optional it sounds like Disney is trying to milk a few more dollars for those sites over Halloween or maybe a group wants to spend big bucks and have social space. It might also be they are trying to control the big displays to minimize guest activity and unapproved trick or treating by asking those folks to leave for those few days. Doesn't sound like there is much information as to what is actually said in the calls or emails.

Optional unless enough dont take them up on the offer. I have heard the system had some kind go glitch that allowed the overbooking to happen. Another version is they are trying to spread people a bit more and may not have enough people to maintain the Fort but I don't believe that one as much.

But they are moving people to Riverside for the three nights. Covering parking and pet fees, Comping 3 nights for future use, and they can still come to the Fort for Halloween and the festivities.

That was all taken from someone that posted in a facebook group just a little while ago who called on their own and took the offer.

Maybe I'm just getting slower in my advancing age.  But, I'm getting POed at the constant changing of the rules at WDW.  We tried booking the Fort last summer for February 2022, and got closed out.  I have checked several times since, but always the same, not available.  So, we booked a nearby off-site hotel for Feb., and frankly, the cost per night is cheaper than a site at the Fort.

So, trying to book the Fort, for Feb. 2023 within the 500 day booking window and found out that option has been changed as well.  I ask the CM, when can I book for Feb. 2023.  His answer, I don't know.  Maybe next summer.  What a bunch of crap!  Does anyone here know?

We dont know yet what they are doing with 2023. I actually don't mind the idea of them opening all of 2023 again like they did it this year in one shot the same way they do for packages.

We have a trip planned for halloween and into the month of November.   I know that last year, the Fort tried to say no to trick or treating, but that families said yes.  I'm hoping this year, that the golf cart parade will be back.  Does anyone have any info on this?

Also, for the first time in my life... we are considering Universal park tickets instead of Disney.  Crazy for me to even say that, but I'm sick of where our country is at with the fear mongering and ridiculous policies that present little (if any) in regards to "health".  Universal does not require you to cover your face.  You may, if you'd like to of course, but they are not requiring you to do so.   It's all so exhausting.  Anyway, that may be where we are at.

As for the Fort and halloween... does anyone have any information?

    Thanks, Fiends.

As far as I know they havent released any information yet that I have seen anywhere. We probably wont know more until the beginning of October at least. The cart parade was back for the 4th I believe so I suspect that will be back. Also (disclaimer this is just my opinion not information) since they are handing out candy at the After Hours event I suspect they will allow it again for Halloween. Even if they don't I expect people will still set up tables with bowls for candy similar to the ones that did it anyway last year. Again all opinion and my thoughts.

That sounds like more than just "maintenance" and definitely weird they're announcing it so far ahead.

Things that make you go hmmm....

I think this is them covering their butts. It’s right around the 509 day mark for those bookings. By announcing it now, they can say they told you to anyone who complains about it.

  10. From Disney.

In an effort to continually enhance the Guest experience here at Walt Disney World Resort, we refresh our offerings from time to time.

The Contemporary Feature Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be unavailable in winter 2023 while it undergoes maintenance work. As an alternative, Guests staying at this Disney Resort hotel may enjoy the Bay Pool, leisure pool at the Contemporary Resort.

Additionally, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will be unavailable beginning January through April 2023 while it undergoes maintenance work. As an alternative, Guests staying at this Disney Resort hotel may enjoy the Wilderness Swimmin’ pool.

During this time, it is possible that Guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms, Guest cabins and campsites between dusk and 9 a.m.

  11. Disney Cruise Line updates protocols for cruises heading to the Bahamas.

Beginning September 3 until November 1, 2021, The Bahamas will require that all cruise ship passengers ages 12 and older be fully vaccinated in order for a ship to be allowed entry into any of its cruise ports, including private islands like Disney Castaway Cay.

To comply with this new requirement, all Guests ages 12 and older on upcoming sailings must be fully vaccinated to board the ship. Approved vaccines include those produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Please note, in accordance with CDC guidelines:

Guests who have received both doses of Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose has been administered.
Guests who have received Johnson & Johnson are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving one dose.
Guests with both one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose.
Guests who have received one single dose of a vector vaccine (e.g. AstraZeneca) and one single dose of a mRNA vaccine (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna) are not considered fully vaccinated.
Guests who choose not to provide proof of vaccination to meet the requirements of The Bahamas will not be permitted to board the ship.

Guests on a sailing to The Bahamas (including Disney Castaway Cay) departing from September 3, 2021, to prior to November 1, 2021, may modify their sail date or cancel their sailing without any Disney-imposed cancellation fees by contacting your travel agent by September 3, 2021. Please note that cancellation fees imposed by third-party suppliers, including airlines, as well as travel insurance, are not refundable. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply for any cancellation or modification requests received on or after September 4, 2021.

If the Guest moves their sailing, the voyage fare will be adjusted to the new sailing and commission will be calculated on the new cruise fare. If the Guest decides to cancel, they will receive a full refund of the voyage fare and commission is recalled. Please note that cancellation fees imposed by third-party suppliers, including airlines, as well as travel insurance, are not refundable. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply for any cancellation or modification requests received on or after September 4, 2021
  12. I have a webinar tomorrow that will hopefully explain in further details.

However from all the things I have access too now here is what I "Think" this will be.

Under Fastpass we had Tier 1 and Tier 2 rides. Tier 2 I think will all be included in the Genie Lightning Lane access. Tier 1 rides will be the ones with the option to buy your 2 passes ahead of time and be the ones you pay for to ride.

    So for example DHS
Tier 1 could be Rise of the Resistance (this will be one as it is in some examples), Slinky Dog (maybe), And Rockin Rollercoaster (i never get that name right. this is also a maybe to me)
Tier 2 would be everything else.

    MK Example

Tier 1 Seven Dwarfs (this will be one), Space mountain and Splash mountain (both maybes)
    Tier 2 everything else.

Standby lines or boarding passes for everything still.

Also I have seen this in a few places

    Food for thought:
Cost of "skipping the line" in various parks.
    Universal: $70
Six Flags: $60-90 (Varies by location.)
    Cedar Point: $110
Dollywood: $50 (Only available for eight uses per day.)
    Legoland: $15 (Three uses.)
SeaWorld: $15 to $65. (Varies with season.)
    Disney World: $15
  13. Direct from Disney
Disney has announced the new Disney Genie and Genie+ options with the new Lightning Lane options. Similar to how Maxpass at Disneyland was.

There will be more information coming soon.

Coming this fall to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, Disney Genie is a complimentary and convenient new digital service designed to create the best Disney day for our Guests. We’ve been listening to Guest feedback – they want planning to be easier, they want more flexibility and they want better tools to help you make the most of your visit – and that’s exactly what Disney Genie is here to do. We’ve made significant investments in this cool new technology, which guides Guests through our theme parks with tips that can help them reduce time in lines, discover magic around every corner and take the guesswork out of “what’s next.”
Built right into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, Disney Genie service will maximize your park time for our Guests, so they can have more fun. It includes a personalized itinerary feature that will quickly and seamlessly map out an entire day. From specific attractions, foodie experiences and entertainment, to general interests like Disney princesses, villains, Pixar, Star Wars, thrill rides and more – Guests just tell Disney Genie what they want to do and it will do the planning for them.
Here are a few more features:

Get Itinerary Updates from Morning to Night: Disney Genie will continue to update the Guest’s itinerary throughout your day, so they can be more spontaneous and go with the flow.

Find Favorites at a Glance: Guests can create their very own personal tip board to instantly see their favorites. It will display current AND forecasted future wait times, helping Guests predict when they might experience quicker entry to attractions.

Enjoy More Flexibility and Fun: Disney Genie brings existing planning features together in one place. Guests can join a virtual queue at certain attractions, make dining and experience reservations, mobile order food at many locations, get help from a virtual assistant and more.

For even more convenience and flexibility, there are two other options for enjoying our theme parks, through a queue we are introducing called the Lightning Lane entrance that also saves Guests time in line:

Disney Genie+ service (available for purchase): For the price of $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World Resort and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland Resort, Guests can choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance. Guests can make one selection at a time, throughout the day – from classics like Haunted Mansion to thrill rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and newer favorites like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (attractions subject to limited availability). This convenient option is the next evolution of the fan-favorite Disney MaxPass service from Disneyland Resort. Disney Genie+ will also include Disney parks-themed audio experiences and photo features to capture your memories – augmented reality lenses for those visiting Walt Disney World Resort and unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads from your day if you are visiting Disneyland Resort.

Individual attraction selections (available for purchase):Guests can schedule a time to arrive at up to two highly demanded attractions each day using the Lightning Lane entrance – like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park and Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park (subject to limited availability; attractions not included with Disney Genie+). Pricing will vary by date, attraction and park.
Lightning Lane selections will be made on the same day of the Guest’s visit and can be used across multiple theme parks, great for those who love the Park Hopper option. Attractions continue to offer a traditional standby queue, or a virtual queue at certain attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – to maximize flexibility.
While the FASTPASS, FastPass+ and Disney MaxPass services will be retired, we’re incredibly excited about the flexibility and choices Disney Genie service provides. Guests can choose from all of our new options, a mix of them or none at all, and continue to have a great experience no matter how Guests decide to plan their best Disney day.

We are also making some enhancements to our Disability Access Service (DAS) program, including new options to enroll in the program pre-arrival and for DAS participants to select arrival windows for attractions directly in the app. These options will be available in addition to our existing, in-person DAS program. Visit our Services for Guests with Disabilities page on DisneyWorld.com and Disneyland.com for more details.
