One of the troopers that works for me had his family at WDW last week. Just a quick 3 day stay. Without going into details, he wanted to take his beautiful 2 year old daughter due to severe health problems. He knows he will probably not get another chance with her. I didn't tell any fiends he was coming. But I did tell him that if they had any problems or needed any help, he needed to call me immediately, because I have a lot of friends in the area. I knew without asking that if I asked for some assistance for a friend, the fiends would come through. He told when he got back that it put his wife's mind at ease a little knowing that they had someone they could turn to, even if she didn't personally know who it was.
That's what being a fiend is about. Having friends and a "support system " spread through half the country.
By the way, fiends...thanks for "being there" for my friend's family. You did good, and didn't even know it!

Not sure if you all have taken the "Thumbs up for Lane" picture yet, but wanted to encourage you to if you had not. One of the things that seems to help the families who have been through a loss is seeing others remember that person. A simple gesture like the picture will mean so much to the family.

Don't depend on your truck jack to be able to change a TT tire. It may not be strong enough (depends what you're pulling) or it may not lift high enough. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone called work needing assistance because they had a spare, but not a jack that would work. (or, God forbid...not the right size lug wrench) I would have...well...a lot of dollars.
A good, dependable jack and correct lug wrench will always be cheaper than roadside assistance along the interstate.

That's exactly how I found this place! Sitting one night doing some online research for our next trip, and found the fiends with a search. I had never seen the site before, so I decided to take a look. Little did I know that the site had just been "born", or the reasons for the birth. Didn't matter, I found a group of like-minded individuals who collectively have a huge amount of information and are interested only in helping each other have a great time on vacation. What more could you ask for?
Disney vacations at the fort are great. They're even better with some guidance and suggestions!

TCD...here's what works for me, as DD7 and DD9 love "shaped" pancakes.
Those are not molds for the pancakes, they're cutters! (at least at our house)
Make bigger round pancakes, and cut the shapes out after they are done. Works every time.
Oh...and at our house, daddy's breakfast (that would be mine) consists of the pancake "scraps" cut off during the all-important shaping...

This whole "spankula" thing...am I the only one reminded of the movie "Stripes", where Bill Murray gives the girl "The Aunt Jemimah Treatment"?
