I really like the sites in that row! 
We were trying to get one of those sites for our trip next year but they were all booked up. I imagine those go pretty quick.
 
Question about that site - Did you guys get much noise from the rental houses behind you? That was my one concern with that row.

I agree that the article is interesting- but only because it's so stupid.
The author cites three minor developments as Disney's reaction to lower than anticipated attendance.
Who says attendance is lower than anticipated?  Maybe Disney attendance is right where Disney wants it to be?  How does the author know?
The closing of Sunshine Seasons at breakfast may simply be because the majority of guests are heading to Norway in the morning and getting their quick serve breakfasts at the new locations they opened in Mexico and Norway.
If Disney really was worried about an attendance decline, they would be doing more than adding entertainment in Germany and a cupcake party at the Grand Floridian.  Disney knows exactly what they're doing.  These things were probably planned independently of any so-called decline in attendance. 
This is just another typical blog post- sheer speculation with very little thought or analysis.

Meadows Train Station

DH says they were at Thunder Mountain as show pieces when he was working on maintenance control systems and Thunder Mountain was their test site.  The reason they are where they are now is. "I have no idea"  direct from the person who wrote the system to control maintenance of the rides.  They were never on the TM track and were not part of FW RR either.
Side note, DH was one of the first people to ride TM when WDW started testing it, right after the sand bags.
But the mystery of why they are where they are is still....a mystery

The blacksmith was there last Thursday.  We watched him for about 15 minutes while he was putting new shoes on a horse.

It's part of the new DVC at the Fort. Lol. My mistake. I was hungry when I typed it.

Many, many campgrounds have issues with weekend shenanigans.  Unlike Disney, a majority of those campgrounds patrol, take complaints seriously, and remove offending parties from the premises.  Disney needs to grow a pair, realize that they cannot please everyone, enlist the help of OCSO more frequently, and start removing the asshats to keep the place a pleasant and magical destination for the families that choose to enjoy the Fort for a good, old-fashioned camping experience.
