  1. I keep checking the schools current schedule to find the magic days off but had not found anything. They give a week at Easter which our old school just does Friday and Monday. I think that is where their extra days are. It is mostly days out of school that I am looking for. This last Christmas we pulled her for 7 day which turned in 8 (24 bug on the way home). Now Dd has had a run of viruses with fevers and is at 12 days out. She is at the top of the class but still don't want any problems with the school. So looking for same trip days wise, just less days out of school for her
  2. Price is a consideration of course. Weather will be better than home. Just wanting to try something different. With Jan having better prices it would make the trip doable. We are sending DD to private school so we didn't think a trip was doable, but hubs knows I like to go every other year or so.
  3. We are looking into Jan or Feb of 2017. We have gone in march, april, Oct, Nov-Dec, and early December. Hubs wants to try February and I said how about Jan. Working around DD school schedule. We would be traveling either MLK weekend and then staying that week or Presidents day weekend. Im trying to only take her out of school 4 days. (she is a straight A student but we are in a new school this upcoming year) I need weather, crowds, closures, basically what you liked and didn't like about this time period or if we need to take her out on a full week. No bashing. If it is really ba
  4. What He and Troll said. Send it to everyone. We are only Cabin campers, but this last trip in early December we looped and it was kinda depressing. Not as well kept as our first trip in 2006. I feel really bad for those of you who saw the Fort in its Glory Days.
  5. Friends asked me if I knew a reasonable hotel in Winter Park area or near there. They are down for 2 days for a graduation. 4 adults and 2 kids. Thanks
  6. We tried to stop in a get a picture with Vader when we were there the first week of Dec, but the wait was over an hour. We left. Toooooooo many people.
  7. I can't believe how much I missed and I thought I was paying attention. Hubs and I saw it on Monday morning after we put the DD on the bus. Our biggest question is how did Finn know how to use Luke's light saber as well as he did if he was in sanitation? I think captain phasma is Finns mother, but that is just my rusty geek 2 cents.
  8. They did check my phone pouch each time we went in the no bags line and hubs was asked to be allowed to Check his large shirt. Hubs is a Leo and has this style of shirt so he can CC. This was only at MK. My phone pouch was every park. Hubs also took off sunglasses on way in and made eye contact as professional courtesy. He wasn't stopped after the first day.
  9. While we were there last week, in the 2700 loop, the 2400 was still closed. We will miss the Murphy bed. We all caught bad colds and each picked our own bed. Hubs liked having the Murphy bed to his self.
  10. When we were there last week a security guard was harassing (no other word for it) an older cast member at the meadows store about an unsecured door next to the ice machine. He was making sure the cast member knew the door should be secured. Over and over.
  11. When we were there the top of the tree was out. The back was all lit.
  12. I hope we get our requested 2700 loop. With my luck lately I will be under construction.
  13. Someone posting on the Chip and Co. Facebook page said" Fox 35 News reported he eluded security".
  14. here are a few of the sandcastle kids club at yacht and beach. here are a few from the wilderness lodge. Now these picture are from 2012 and may have been updated but you can get the idea.
  15. My trip report from 2012 has a few pictures of the kids clubs. NO planes, but trains and ambulances. has a few pictures. The Wilderness lodge is page 5 post 85. I don't seem to have one of the much larger sandcastle kids club. I will look for the photos.
  16. I finally get to contribe to the board. New things at the kids clubs. I just got a call from Disney about our Kids Club ressie for DD at the Sandcastle Club - Yatch and Beach Club. We have DD go here while we eat at Cape May Cafe and Yachtsman. Disney has add some things about what they do with the kids, Drop off and hours, and of course they changed the pricing. We used this our last on property vacation in 2012 and liked it, you had to make resservations and you booked a specific time to drop of and pick up with a 2 hr minimum. In 2012 it was $11.50 an hour. Which considering a

  18. This is the I95 info I got Location(s): South Carolina More than a week after historic rains inundated South Carolina, Interstate 95, the main north-south interstate on the East Coast, has been reopened in both directions. The South Carolina Department of Transportation reports that the southbound lanes on a 16-mile stretch of the interstate reopened on Monday morning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported northbound lanes opened Tuesday. The interstate was closed as crews repaired 13 bridges spanning rivers and swamps along a low-lying section of the interstate. I-95, the main East Coa
  19. I got an email about I-95 and figured someone had already posted that. I guess I should have posted that too.
  20. I know this hasn't been announced but hubs just checked and was told that they resumed operations yesterday. Amtrak did't announce anything. We were scheduled for a christmas trip and this is how we get down to Disney and I needed to know with the flooding if we needed plane tickets.
