Thanks for taking the time to share and write a report!
PS - those bubble machines are great for keeping the kids entertained, but that music is obnoxious after the first 5 or so minutes! -

Most awesome check in experience. Faxed our request 5 days in advance. Upon arrival, was greeted with which site do you prefer in your chosen loop or others that are available. Asked about specificsite, no they at boked until later. Used the FF app to determine best site and were given options. Picked a site, and were told " if it doesn't workout here is the front desk number to request another site" . Love our site! Wow! what a different experience than. Ack in the fall.

Glad it went better this time, sure makes the start of the "experience" better when it goes like that!

We have considered this as well, just didn't know if it would be a pain to install the washer in there
I would think that would be the easy part.... Hook up power and 2 water lines and viola! washer :)
We looked into doing a combo but I can't justify paying someone to install it...and I can't bring myself to drill that big of a hole in the side of our 5er. -

The Fort would be great
So you are saying that you would make The Fort great again?

Thanks for the info. DW and I have talked about it and we will likely see it and then decide if the 2 girls will be ok with it. The wolves and the beast getting shot are the scenes we have heard the most about and I think that as long as it isn't gory or detailed it might be ok for them. If nothing else DW and I can have a date night to go see a movie

Anyone in this group have any thoughts on this being appropriate for a 5 year old? Some of the folks my wife has talked to mentioned that the violence might be a bit much for a younger kid.

My first thought is that it might be tied to how many rooms were available at the Wilderness Lodge, but what you turned up was excellent info.

Eagles Roost does have nice long pull thru's. This is a 42ish foot camer with a long bed truck in front of it. I did not have to unhook by any means, was just running errands while we were stopped.

After spending the past couple of hours reading this entire thread, the only conclusion I can come to is that the obnoxious people are not "campers" in everyday life. They just do so to hit up Disney on the cheap. They need a course in camping etiquette for sure. I've been camping my entire life and I have never seen such lack of common courtesy anywhere. Most of these photos are completely shocking ... like nothing I have ever seen in the camping community.
I think this is pretty spot on. I think you are going to get folks at the Fort that use if for convenience that have no idea of what the camping mentality is. I have to remind myself of that from time to time when we are there so I can relax a little.

The speaker was great. Very funny and unpretentious. He showed a bunch of his photos, told us the story behind them, and shared some amusing anecdotes. Then he showed us how they take a raw photo and edit it. He started with a very basic photo of Expedition Everest, then, using Lightroom and Photoshop, changed the sky, added mist, cleaned up the tracks, and even added some mountains in the background to come up with the final product:

That cup in the bottom right of this shot must belong to someone else, OR that boycott thing isn't working all that well

I voted for 900 loop only because that's were we stayed on our last trip. I don't remember the exact site number but we really liked it, the site fit our 5th wheel better. The only other premium loop we have stayed in was 1200. It wasn't bad but the site we were in could been a little larger and it felt like the road was a bit tighter.

And the poor guy has to provide service while abiding by Disney's rules that he's not allowed to come onto the property to provide the service. That really complicates things for him.
He is an honest, hard working business man, who is trying to make a living and comply with the rules Disney imposes. I really feel for the guy.

We had our 1st mishap with a Kenny cart (1st time in 3 rentals) this past October. We were cruising around heading into the 1200/1300 loop areas and we heard a loud BOOM....and then no power. One of the batteries had exploded under the seat. I pushed the cart off the road and called to let them know I had an issue. Kenny called me back that afternoon in a matter of minutes and told me that he would get it fixed. He did get it fixed but it was the following morning before it could be done.
This is not what you want to see when you open the seat after hearing a boom. The negative terminal is missing from the battery:

You don't need a special card at Pilot... your Disney card works great there
Even at the big truck lanes?

Does this apply to the truck stops as well?
If you are talking about the diesel lanes with the big trucks, no it is not the case. With MOST of these you will have to go inside before fueling and tell them how much you want to pump (guess high has been my experience). When done you pull up to the yellow line and go inside to settle up.
Now, with Pilot\Flying J if you have one of their "RV Plus Charge Card's" you can use that to turn on the pump in the truck lanes just like you would a regular pump. We have one of those cards and it generally only gets used when traveling, and that is the reason we try to stop at Pilot\Flying J's. It's nice to be able to fill up and not have to go inside if we don't want to. -

I think the design should be selected by FF.net's first member. Now who would that be? LOL.
So here, I present to you my design for the 6th anniversary FF merchandise.
I think you used the old logo, this is the new one:

Yep. That was our thought, exactly.
Crazy. Makes NO sense.
We went through that with our current 5er. I knew going in that it would need an axle upgrade, and I knew before hand that Forest River was swapping them out at their expense for owners that asked for it. So right after signing the papers I turned to the sales guy and asked him to contact Forest River about an axle upgrade and the look on his face was priceless. lol
I think with ours there was right at 1000lbs of cargo capacity and it holds 600lbs of water if we were to fill it up. So we would have had a 42' 5th wheel that slept 10, and could carry 400lbs of stuff. That definitely wouldn't cut it. Forest River was great to work with and sent 2 new axles and 5 new wheels and tires for my dealer to install for me. -

Wow... okay, thank you for passing that information along. The price is high on the unit and we definitely would want changes (I mean, why in the world would they have a 5th wheel with less than a 900# cargo capacity??!). Well, Tom will be "happy" as he prefers the Coachman, haha
Just think, if you filled the fresh water tank on that camper you would eat about half of that 900lbs :)

We had breakfast there in October and food was average. One thing we did like about the character breakfast here is that you seemed to get MUCH more time with the characters. At one point we had Pluto sitting down at the table with us for a minute. Silly pup was begging for bacon

I still remember our fishing guide telling us "bear sightings" always spark up when the maintenance guys wanted some OT to "keep an eye out" for bears.
You'd think this would happen a lot around the holidays to generate a little extra Christmas money

Yes... several of the 5th wheels we've looked at were this way. Or you couldn't get into the bunk room, unless you opened the slide. The Coachmen 360IBL you can get into the bathroom and bedrooms, but to get to the fridge...you would have to open the side on the passenger side at least 1/2 way so you could squeeze in. This is the main plus to our current bumper pull. We can access everything easily, with the slide in.
One thing to look out for with slides.... The 4 slides in our camper are hydraulic and there is 1 switch the extends and retracts them all so I cannot open just the bunk slides by themselves. On ours the rooms open by path of resistance....bedroom, living room, then the 2 in the bunk rooms and will generally close in the same order. Luckily for us the only thing we cant access with everything closed is the actual bunk room. We can get to the fridge and both bathrooms with everything closed up. Now, if for some reason I do have to get something out of the bunk room it involves opening all of the slides just to get in there. Not the end of the world, just something to think about if the model you are looking at has hydraulic slides.
With that said there are some hydraulic slides that do have controls so that you can open\close certain slides. Ours just doesn't have that.
