AuburnJen got a reaction from Momof6....aka Marty in A hearty thank you from Snarky and his caretakers to all of you.
As the caretakers of Snarky, we usually are the ones who speak on his behalf, so here is the latest and greatest from our sarcastic mascot. Today, he is not so much sarcastic, but thankful.
As his second birthday comes around, he wanted to wish a big thank you to all who have joined and participated in our forums, grand gatherings, philanthropy and general snarkiness to all. Without you, we certainly would not have over 1100 members to call this place home and family.
Snarky would like to issue a charge to each and every one of you to bring in at least one member to our flock this year to expand our craziness and our family even further. By doing so, our community can help more people in need and spread the word of Snarky, which is snarkiness and camping are king.
So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May January 29th, 2013 bring as many blessings to your family on Snarky's birthday as they will bring to him. Just the fact that this forum is successful when so many said it would not be is a tribute to all of you.
Congratulations on making this forum the best place to be on the internet for camping discussions.
Snarky loves each and every one of you! :heartsmiley:

As much as I would like to edit the OP's post, I resist with all my might because of the fact that this is a community run forum. This means that we police ourselves here. Being that the OP was very misleading and "made a mistake" in the beginning, unfortunately will have to make said Fiends have to read a bit more than normal to get to the "rest of the story."
I am really not in the mood to start a new trend of editing content and I hope you understand that doing so would lead us down a dark path.

moderators on this site are not like the dictatorships you see elsewhere on the internet...We work on self moderation here, which may not be liked by some, but is for the betterment of the community as a whole. Kenny is not a sponsor here but does service our community members. To say it was my job to see if the op is legit implies we have a dictatorship and censorship here. Neither of those two happen here very often, period.

You know, I have "heard" that other boards are better without certain people. (posted recently elsewhere)
Frankly, I don't know of anyone that would be better elsewhere but here. This is not the place where you just post a question and then "walk" away, never to return. It "sucks" you in, because family does that. Family takes care of you (sometimes whether they like you or not :rofl2: ) and will complain, and spit and moan for a while too. BUT THEY DO IT. Us Fiends, we do the helping willingly and without forethought. When I am at the Fort, I consider myself ON CALL. That means I am willing to go on missions, help out a fellow Fiend, recruit new membership, give up something I own for a fellow Fiend, or anything that is necessary. That is what we are about here. We are not a board that has been created out of chaos, but has become a family that no one could have possibly imagined. Many, many of us will be life-long friends, oops, FIENDS. No other place can claim that.
If you don't know what I speak of, join us and find out. You have NO CLUE what you are missing.

One of the troopers that works for me had his family at WDW last week. Just a quick 3 day stay. Without going into details, he wanted to take his beautiful 2 year old daughter due to severe health problems. He knows he will probably not get another chance with her. I didn't tell any fiends he was coming. But I did tell him that if they had any problems or needed any help, he needed to call me immediately, because I have a lot of friends in the area. I knew without asking that if I asked for some assistance for a friend, the fiends would come through. He told when he got back that it put his wife's mind at ease a little knowing that they had someone they could turn to, even if she didn't personally know who it was.
That's what being a fiend is about. Having friends and a "support system " spread through half the country.
By the way, fiends...thanks for "being there" for my friend's family. You did good, and didn't even know it!

I'll just add that for those of you that might be shy about meeting up with the Fiends in person, please don't be!
I know it's one thing to "meet" people online vs in person, but this really is the most welcoming group of people. We showed up at Halloween a year ago, having only met a couple of people the year before, and dove head first into the middle of a whopper of a GG. Fiends greet you like you're their long lost friend and it never felt weird to be hugged by a perfect stranger... or hugging the ones that say they're not huggers.
Since then we've been fortunate enough to spend time with more and more Fiends, including a wonderful Thanksgiving gathering this past year. We only wish we lived closer to see people more often. (even you, Lou!)
All you need to fit into a Fiend GG is the ability to enjoy eating (all Fiend gatherings - large or small - are marked by ridiculous amounts of delicious food), drinking (beverage of your choice-although there's usually something around that will knock you on your hiney if you're not careful) and laughing until your sides hurt.
If I've learned nothing else from Bob it's that ALL ARE WELCOME... just bring a chair! :heartsmiley:

Old Lar would curse you for driving a cart in the first place and not riding a bike ,after all, if you were driving the cart, you had to be using some kind of electricity that was for someone else and you would not want to do that would you, I mean really, not going and riding your bike around the fort and riding in a golf cart, but Lar would also commend BB for selling his cart because then he could go and ride bikes and save the tree bark so all trees could grow and his dogs who bark all night long and piss off FWGuy could pee on them and strengthen them for all eternity.
How did you like my Lar sentence? :rofl2:

You freely submitted your ideas about a service and several people freely disagreed with you and went out of their way to call the man to make sure you were saying the truth. I don't see this as bashing at all. I see it as researching your claim and then proving the claim false. Why is this considered bashing? Because people don't agree with you and are trying to see if someone has slipped in their business practices? Usually when people come onto a forum for the first time and start with a negative campaign of any sort, they are removed or censored. (Not here, other places)
In my humble opinion, you stirred up a hornet's nest and got stung, and that didn't feel very warm and fuzzy. There was a much better way of handling your situation, on and off the Internet. Hopefully you will use it as a learning experience instead of a crying session.
