  1. Sounds like the posers in 2000 were a different kind of "DB" from our Doodlebug. :rofl2:
  2. Wow, who knew 1300 was the Fort's own red light district? Like our very own "Down"-town Disney. Maybe it should be renamed Humdinger Hollow. :rofl2:
  3. Carol, where was your derby hat?? :popo: Great updates! I really like Mammoth Caves...been a few years since we've been there.

  5. Very cool!!! Wow, Donnie has got those hats ready quickly. Looking good!
  6. So far you have reported on two campgrounds that we have stayed at multiple times....Best Holiday and the Townsend KOA. It looks like a GREAT trip. Looking forward to reading about your stay at Mammoth Cave.
  7. Hey Andrew, I actually just Googled to find the poster listing. Searching within eBay doesn't always turn up closed auctions unless you were watching them.
  8. I think he's been tipping the kungaloosh a bit and fell asleep in late January.
  9. No!!! It can't be over!!! Awesome report Andrew...glad you shared with us and have found your new home. Looking forward to the continuation of your new weekend report. Now, in the drawings you show above, what looks like train tracks is drawn approximately where the old FWRR tracks went behind the 700 loop, correct? Do you think they are putting in a sidewalk along the old RR right of way there? I would hope they wouldn't put an access road into the Settlement area for the new resort back there. From Frontier Way near Creekside Meadow, you could theoretically build a road along the west
  10. I wish I had thought to take that Musket Mickey garbage can. Wouldn't that be the coolest thing to have in the garage? :parrot:
  11. Looks like a great way to spend a rainy day. Disney store is fun. Problem is they are in malls, and I hate malls. I do like DTD though.
  12. Wow E & R, I am finally getting caught up with all the happenings on the boards and have thoroughly enjoyed your TR. Sounds like a perfect first trip in the new camper. Go double check your SD card and make sure there aren't any extra pics you've failed to share.
  13. Maybe you should file a complaint under the federal GDA...the Golfcarts with Disabilities Act. :rofl2:
  14. You are correct. And yet the thing is, even IF the Fort was inexpensive and there were people of very limited means staying there, I imagine most of us Fiends would gladly share a boat or bus with them and, "gasp"...maybe even talk to them! That is the true difference I think with many of the people that choose to camp and many (by no means all) of the people that stay in the moderate or deluxe hotels. I don't feel "above" anybody, nor do I feel "below" anyone. I don't value people based upon some social stratification of financial means. I value people based upon how they treat other peo
  15. I've got an awesome hooded sweatshirt and would love a grey or brown one someday. Have a brown tshirt too. Miss shopping at the trading posts and browsing through the merchandise.
  16. Maybe so Deb, but my entertainment is best appreciated in person.....Ohhhh-HANA!!!! I havent yet figured out the internet conveyance yet. Norm can supply us with beautiful pics of the Fort so we can not only get our Fort fix, but can gain a new perspective on the Fort. Great photos Norm! Really enjoying these.
  17. Welcome Norm!!! And great updates Andrew!! Sorry I have been away a bit the past two days. But you see, I was completely swamped answering all my fans from catertodave.com. The action on that site is insane! :rofl2: I may be away a bit more the next couple days as we travel home this weekend, but I promise to get caught up eventually. And please try to find one stinkin picture of food on your card. I find it hard to believe that a man can take 6,000 pictures during a weekend and not one is of food...unless it's of him posing horribly with a sausage. :parrot:
  18. Ya know Marty, it is sometimes difficult to know for sure what God's wishes for us are. I'm not going to begin to guess. But I'm going to make this real easy for you. THIS IS YOUR HOME! There, was that clear? :rofl2: And speaking of clear messages, I have another one for Andrew.....GET POSTING!!! It's after noon in your time zone and you are overdue for an update. :siren:
  19. Ouch. You provided a link to RV.net, huh?? :rofl2:
  20. Rails!!! That is way cool. Cooler than RC, cooler than finding old signs and stuff. Actual rails from the FWRR!!! You've made my evening. I've never been to the Fort during late winter when weeds have died back. Maybe never will. So thank you for posting this. Also it is VERY cool that you found those spikes...I mean "nails". I happen to do a bit of steel recycling now and then, if you are still looking to unload any of them around Thanksgiving time. :rofl2:
  21. Like others, we've done Fort trips without doing parks, and I remember those as my favorite trips. More relaxing, we take time to visit the other resorts and walk around, we ride the monorail and grab a drink at the Poly, we go to the WL for lunch, we hit DTD for an evening....and most importantly we enjoy all that the Fort has to offer! Rent a canoe, fish, ride bikes, ride the boats, look around the trading posts, ride the ponies, check out the barns, visit with the blacksmith, loop, check out decorations...the list goes on and on! I don't think you could possibly get bored ther
  22. Wake up Andrew! This is no time to sleep...you've got another installment to write. I need to know if you found the soccer ball I lost in the Horseshoe Bend area in December 1977. It has "DaveInNY" written on it in Sharpie. I didn't move to TN until 2003, afterall. :rofl2:
