  1. For me it depends on how many trees are around my site and what type they are. I like to drive lots of nails into the trees, and tie some ropes around them. You know, for hammocks, clothes lines and zip lines. I prefer hardwood trees over pines, as I find that when I pound nails into pine bark or really winch a rope nice and tight around the trunk, the dang tree will give off so much sap that it messes up my stuff. So, if I have pine trees near my pad, but there are a couple of nice hardwood trees in the general proximity, I will expand my site definition to include those hardwoods. One t

  3. Do I sense a touch of sarcasm there?? King of the castle....LMAO!! :rofl2:
  4. But if it's a half stick of butter can I only roll half an ear of corn in it?? :rofl2:
  5. If you do hit it around 1 pm you should be ok. Assuming you are heading north or south on 75, I would stay right on 75 through downtown and not take the beltway. In my experience the beltway is usually worse than the mainline.
  6. That sounds pretty cool! I am a big fan of the BSA, and in fact was a scout myself for many years. But I have had some philosophical differences with the Girl Scouts. We had a local homeschool chapter of the Girl Scouts which was changing over to a chapter of American Heritage Girls for that reason. I wasn't familiar with Venture Scouts, but might look into it.
  7. I've been at Chautaqua Lake!!! My BIL works at a big marina there and his wife's family have a house on the lake. They live in Jamestown, where did you live up there? I grew up in Silver Creek, right on Lake Erie at the northern end of Chautauqua County.
  8. Awesome report Dan!!! Sure brings back memories of my scouting campouts in the snow near Chautauqua Lake, NY. Those darn foil dinners with the hamburger, potatoes, onion and carrots never tasted so good when it was cold and the hot dinner was warming your lap! That was after a long day of pulling sleds in the Klondike Derby competition, where we were the sled dogs. Ah, good times! But one thing I wanted to point out. I am thinking that your stories of cold weather, lumpy pancakes and freezing feet are all a diversion to keep us from knowing the truth. That you were eating Dunkin Donuts
  9. Nothing like having that RV in the driveway!!! :) :) :) :) We were going to camp this weekend, but we have a TON to do before we leave for St Petersburg, so the camping plans got bagged. I've rented an apartment for two weeks in St Pete...wish we could have the TT there. Wonder how much it would cost to have it shipped? :)
  10. Very observant. I'm trying to come up with a snarky come back. Let's see, they suck. Almost as much as the Rays. Rays, what kind of a name is that? Isn't that a pizza joint in NY, Ray's Pizza? Ya, I know, Deb's a Rays fan. What does she know, she's from that great baseball town of Buffalo. I hear ya completely. I'm also from the great baseball town of Buffalo. In fact, I'm such a great baseball fan that I even went to a game once. Had some pretty good nachos. And a couple beers. Then I got bored and left. Guess I'm more of a football fan. >:D I'm a big Buffalo Bills fan. Had s
  11. I could take it or leave it. We will sometimes put the tv on at night while settling into bed, to catch up on news or weather. But other than that we don't usually watch tv in the RV...other than the occassional DVD when we need the kids to settle in.
  12. Mine is covering my Buffalo Bills hitch cover. I hope that's not bad karma for FF.net. :rofl2:
  13. I didn't get the sticker cut or applied nearly as cleanly as I would have liked, but when it's on the van I won't really notice.
  14. Nice to know we were the test group. This is a good sign that they will likely keep it at the Fort for a while...must be selling ok for them to expand it to the big leagues!
  15. Fort Fiend Hitch Cover. It was too dark out to take a picture of it on the van.
  16. Can't you see her mocking me here?? It's like she is giving me a big F-U! :parrot:
  17. I enjoy their chili. Especially on a chilly night. No pun intended. :rofl2:
  18. Thank you for posting. My BIL used to love going to Knoebels when he lived in Williamsport. Sadly we never got there with him when visiting. Maybe someday....
