  1. The Grand Floridian Resort also had roasted chestnuts. We would go see the ginger bread house and get a few to sample. That sounds magical. Not so much for Chet, but pretty cool for the rest of us.
  2. When it reopens next year it will have been closed for two years since the flood. That's a LOT of lost sales tax revenue to Nashville. And some of the stores will never return. But, they have lined up some new stores that IMO seem like upgrades from what was there before. I just hope the Apple Barn returns. :protip:
  3. Certainly an interesting concept. I'm personally not a big fan of the over-the-top theming at some of the value resorts, like the All-Stars, but they do fill a pricing niche. I kinda wish there was a value family suites hotel on property that was just basic, with a nice food court and pool but no crazy decor. I suppose a lot of people do like it though. Guess I'm just getting old.
  4. That peanut butter one looks DELISH! :rofl2: Would be great washed down with a big glass of milk.
  5. I'm another one that has really missed the Fort merchandise. Even if we didn't buy much, it was so fun shopping at the Trading Posts. And quite often we would pick up a shirt, sweatshirt, or something for the RV. I hope it returns.
  6. I cannot with authority answer the question, but my sincere guess would be no. You could certainly ask, because it might be possible at some restaurants, but I doubt it. The preparation is different, and the pricing is usually different between the meals too.
  7. I'm not sure how I feel about Disney doing business with a communist government that has such a terrible human rights record. They have a record of torturing and killing thousands, or millions, of their own people. They manipulate the currency to gain unfair advantages in world trade. They have traded weapons to avowed enemies of the US. And they are a growing threat to our influence in the world. And Disney wants to get in bed with them??
  8. Didn't move from a Class A to a 5th wheel, but we did move from an A to a travel trailer recently. I loved the motorhome and it served us very well for several years, but due to some changes in our family we knew we wouldn't be using it enough for a while to justify the cost of it, including insurance and maintenance. With the lower cost of ownership of the trailer, I won't feel as bad if it sits for a period of time. I used to feel guilty if the mh sat for several weeks.
  9. We really enjoyed the Lilo breakfast at O'hana. I liked the food really well...and I didn't even know you could ask for Tonga Toast!! Really?? Cause that would be enough to get me back there. :camp1:
  10. I hope you bring home that Outback!! We are getting enough Outbacks around here to establish a Fort Fiend chapter of the Outbackers club. :camp1:
  11. Great report! What a cool surprise with the spike. Very very cool. :D
  12. How in the world have I missed this pic until now?? I'm going through TR's tonight making sure I am caught up with all the awesome reading and pics, and this one jumped out at me. I was right to be scared!! That chick just ain't right. Look at that dumb look on her face. I'd say she's dumber than a box of rocks, but that would be offensive to the box of rocks.
  13. We ate there for the Candlelight Processional dinner package December 2009, and had a very good meal. I loved the scotch egg, and the fish and chips were very good. I'd go back.
  14. Another vote for Crystal Palace here. We've always enjoyed it there. Chef Mickey's is good to get some face time with the Big Cheese and his main buddies. But the food? kind of like a Shoney's breakfast buffet...for $30 a head! :D
  15. When we bought AP's in late 2009, I found that AAA South (covers FL, GA and part of TN) had a better price than UT. The research I had done online indicated that AAA South was best at that time on non-FL resident AP's...but UT was better on most other variations of tickets. That situation may have changed by now, but it's always worth shopping around. Google will do much of the work.
  16. Despite its obvious flaws in the real world, the technology is WAY COOL! I could see the technology being used in different applications, hopefully to help people with mobility issues lead fuller lives. Personally, I'm gonna keep walking as long as God allows me the ability. But if the day ever comes where that is no longer possible, I hope to have some good options to keep me moving! :D
  17. Wings are an appetizer :D I only ask because of the change in policy at Disney about the designation of "white Meat" 1st time I ordered GAG all white meat I got breasts 2nd time ordered all white meat GAG got breast and wings, went back and asked what happened and was informed that wings are white meat, had the same discussion this trip with the manager, "yes wings are white meat". took an informal survey of all guests standing at the register, not one agreed with Disney, so I ask are wings white meat? Sounds like we need to take a survey. :parrot: We could start with those of us that grew
  18. For $300, more than a foot rub better be in order.... :bighug: I want chicken and waffles, POOLSIDE!! :partyline:
  19. Darn you Monique. now my mouth is watering. :rofl2: And I agree...the pretzels are my favorite.
  20. Same here. That is one smack yummy meal, especially after a long drive. Nothing like a cold drink on the porch, and a GAG. I want one now!!!! :rofl2:
  21. I cannot imagine Disney closing the Poly down completely to rebuild it.
  22. Sounds like your going bar hopping.. :rofl2: Sorry couldn't resist.. :rofl2: :rofl2: You're bad! :rofl2: :rofl2:
