  3. We are about 30 minutes from I-26. We went that way last November - I-385 to I-26 to I-95. It was okay. Thought we might try going through Atlanta this year just for something different, esp. if i can get dh to leave early enough in the AM to avoid traffic in Atlanta. Last year, we got up at 3AM to leave by 4AM and didn't get on the road until 7AM. This year, I want to pack everything but the food the night before.
  4. Actually, I am in the NW part of SC, so sometimes we go through Atlanta and come down I-75.
  5. OK, should I ask someone to post the Western Way now, or wait, knowing that I will lose it between now and Halloween. But if I wait, will I forget to ask by then. This getting old thing is tougher than it looks. :parrot:
  6. Also, would they be eligible to ride Disney transportation? I'm thinking not, but thought I would ask.
  7. There is a new family at my church planning a trip to WDW. They have booked at the Wyndham through bookit.com(? - not sure that is the name) for $89 per night!! Great rate!! Anyway, I am trying to give them some inside info for the trip. I wondered if they can do EMH is they are at the Wyndham. I thought I would type up some info, including this site, and give it to them next Sunday. TIA!
  8. I am hoping to get the best of holidays and off-times by arriving on halloween and staying into the next week. At least that is the plan. Everytime I try to figure out how much to save for gas, the prices go up.
  9. I haven't been but would love to try it. These days, traveling far from SC is hard in camping season, as dh does organic lawncare and needs to be close to home all week.
  10. Oh, you are so very sweet. No, I graduated in '85. I'm not quite this old, :barf: but getting close fast!
  11. Go to their FB page and click like to register for a free sample of duct tape sheets. Compact way to bring some duct tape on a trip. :rofl2: http://www.facebook.com/ducktape?sk=app_136277683111702
  12. I wish Undercover Tourist sold one day/one park tickets for cheapskates like me. Is there any bargain way to buy those, or am I stuck with full price?
  13. I haven't been back in quite a few years. Maybe early 90's? Wow. I really am old. I loved the Tally Ho! And I have been craving Greekers lately. I'd love to go back for a visit, but then again, it wouldn't be the same, would it? Can't wait to see you at the Fort!
  14. Right now, the board is like a banana split. Lots of yummy goodness that makes the day so much better. TCD would be the cherry on top. Not necessary, but a definite plus!
  15. Can I ask where in Pa and NJ do you have family? Hubs and I are grew up in NJ and I was born in Pa. I also grew up in NJ! Short Hills when I was little, then Bernardsville, Far Hills, Mendham, Basking Ridge, and then Glen Gardner out in Hunterdon County for a while. I still miss the Jersey Shore. :popo: I went to Lehigh U. for 4 years and then worked in downtown Allentown for a few months. I do miss Musikfest, plus watching the leaves turn on South Mountain. I don't the smell of the steel mill! :rofl2:
  16. My friends who live near Atlanta recommend 10:00am - 2:00pm as being okay, esp. if you can stick to the HOV lanes.
  17. Just a different take on things, but for us, the Fort is a budget option. We tent camp, as we can't afford a pop-up or RV. Since there are so many of us, if we were to go to a different resort, we would have to have two rooms. Even with the cabins, we would need to rent two. A tent on a campsite really was pretty cheap, compared to other options.
  18. The NJ State Teacher's Convention this year is November 10-11, 2011. I would guess that would mean WDW will start to get more crowded starting 11/5. Still, many people who have been there during that week report it isn't really that crowded (or so I have read on the board that will not be named). I will be there, Lord willing 10/31 - 11/4 and am hoping for low crowds. last year we went the week after Jersey week and it was fine.
  19. I would think (although I don't know for sure) that the week before Halloween would be more crowded with people coming for MNSSHP. After Halloween is kind of an in-between time, when I would think not many people would want to come, hence, less crowds. But I could be wrong. It does happen from time to time. Just ask my children! :D
  20. This is one of the most helpful and friendly places on the web.
  21. Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Jen! Happy Birthday to you!  :rofl2:
  22. My husband and i have spoken many times oof the lure of just traveling around in a RV, showing the kids this wonderful country of our up close and personal. Unfortunately, we have never figured out how to support our family while doing so. But I keep trying to think of something!
