We all had a lot of fun revisiting days gone by at the Fort and beyond.  Let's see if we can make the REMIX the Best Thread of 2011.  I'll start.
Here is kampfiredad in his infamous plaid pants and my bro.  For any of you who have never seen an "ORIGINAL" FW home... here's the inside of one.  I think this was 1973.  I'm not going back you know where to look it up and I've already returned kampfiremom's treasure trove of memorabelia.  I'm pretty sure it was '73.

First progress report.
This shows the overall size of the painting which will be 30" x 15".
I painted the sky that is directly around the castle first, and then sketched in the castle. It's much easier to do it this way rather than paint in the sky after the castle is done, saves a lot of time.
As the castle is the focal point, I started with it.
Next is to add color, and an excruciating amount of architectural detail.
 
 

 
 
 

Apparently I need to up my game. 

I think you should pull a Hitchcock, and put yourself somewhere into that crowd.  That would be a cool feature, and we could all play "Where's Lou?".  Or if you don't want to do that, stick Devores in there in knickers.  

That's actually a photo of MS USA taken during a Halloween party.
I'm going to change the banners to a July 4th theme seeing that a lot of flags are waving.
I'll be doing it in segments, and I take progress photos anyway, I'll post those. 
It'll take a few months as I only put in a few hours a day, if that.
