I had always greatly enjoyed the Wonders of Life pavillion at Epcot, but I don't really understand its downfall. I know they lost their sponsorship with MET Life, but it seems they could find either another sponsor or just open it up & run it. To me WOL is great in that it is a fun learning experience with Cranium Command and Body Wars. I even appreciated the 'Making of Me' film with Martin Short. It was a great way to give a lesson on the basic facts of life to your younger kids. And, according to Disney, it is open seasonally. Which season, no one knows. I have been down any times durin

Would you drive to Epcot from FW
ftwildernessrick replied to Momof6....aka Marty's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
When doing a full day at Epcot, we usually take the car there for line drop, & take the bus back to FW for our afternoon break. When they close at night, our car is close by, rather than waiting in the que lines for the buses to show up. Here's my tip for the entry line at Epcot. Go to the far left turnstile marked 'Princess Breakfast' or something like that. Check with the CM there to make sure that this set of turnstiles will change to regular entrance at opening. Then stand off to the side so those that do have breakfast ressies can get through. At opening, they usually will keep only t -
Secret Sauce

I use KC Masterpiece (original), add honey, Worcestershire sauce, & cayenne pepper. It makes it sweet & spicy with a kick. -
Let's talk ice cream
ftwildernessrick replied to doodlebug....Cherie's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Baskin & Robbins peanut butter & chocolate ice cream. The way it should be made; that is, chocolate ice cream with a thick ribbon of real peanut butter in it. Not peanut butter chips, or peanut butter ice cream - real peanut butter. 2nd favorite - a toss up between the hot fudge brownie sundae from Ghirardelli's at DTD or the Gold Rush, also at Ghirardelli's, or the No Way Jose sundae at Beaches & Cream. :) -
Fantasyland Expansion - SOFT OPENING!

Don't you wish you could get some of the stuff before they demolish it. Like Mickey's or Minnie's house. It would make one heck of a playhouse for your backyard.- 490 replies

Local Pollo Campero closed

Considering what Disney probably charges for their lease, if they don't stay busy, then they won't survive. -
maybe an east coast thing? I've never heard of them. I stole this definition. The white hot is a variation on the hot dog found in Rochester, New York, and the upstate area.[1] It is composed of some combination of uncured and unsmoked pork, beef, and veal; the lack of smoking or curing allows the meat to retain a naturally white color.[2] White hots usually contain mustard and other spices, and often include a dairy component such as nonfat dry milk. The white hot originated in the 1920s[citation needed] in Rochester's German community as a "white and porky"[1] alternative to high-price red

Nathan's hot dogs (the big ones), I have a case in my freezer. My favorite way - Roasted over an open fire, then put Goulden's mustard on the bun, add the hotdog, chili, finely grated cheddar cheese, & onions. Next favorite way - steamed in beer, add Goulden's mustard, then a sauted mix of onions, yellow, red, & green peppers.

Hold It !! You actually get a refund? :rofl2: I just enjoy paper filing on April 15th, using staples and not getting all the forms in order. :rofl2:

Everything stays in the camper except most clothes and our food stuff. I do start my vacation non perishable food piles about 2 months away and stack that in the corner of the bedroom. Picking up a few items each week at the store like drinks, boxed dinners (mac n'cheese, etc), cookies, chips. So when we do the final grocery store run, it is just perishables.

Fast Passes
ftwildernessrick replied to ukmummy.....Cerys's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Most of the major rides have a fast pass distribution area. Over the Fast Pass machines you will see a time displayed showing when the return time will be for the pass if you get it now. You put each person's passcard into the macine & it will print out a Fast Pass. Always make sure that a Fast Pass was printed because it will also print out a similar card if there was an error reading your pass. The fast pass will give you a 1 hour window to ride the ride. (they usually will allow you to get on the ride if you are past the time window.) At the bottom of the ticket is printed a time when y -
If you are staying there all day & doing it all - at line drop: 1) Mission Space 2) Test Track 3) Go to Soarin' & get fast Pass 4) Eat a quick breakfast at Sunshine Seasons Depending on Soarin' Fast Pass time 5) Go to Seas with Nemo 6) Journey into Imagination - Captain EO 7) Start World Showcase - we will usually do about half now :bravo: Come back to FW and do Inoventions / Spaceship Earth (the line you see at Spaceship Earth is all the line there is, no hidden ques) 9) Do the other half of World Showcase & pick a good spot for Illuminations Most do the American Adventure - check

They are usually waved through because the system is messed up somehow. If the person gets caught using another ap there could be criminal consequences, much less you would lose your pass.

How many days?
ftwildernessrick replied to ukmummy.....Cerys's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
First, I would definitely do all the rides over a 20 day stay, but do it with time to stop & smell the roses type atitude. Explore the resorts all around and I would definitely jump over to Universal for a couple of days. When we plan a normal trip I figure two days per park, one day for each water park. Spend about half a day in the water park, go back & get cleaned up & rested. Then we eat a good dinner somewhere, then go to downtown Disney for the evening. -
Disney World sushi news

Not a big fan of any 'packaged' sushi. I'll sneak over to Kono's & get mine at times. -
Grand Gatherings Dining Experience
ftwildernessrick replied to Nicki aka Rebelstand's topic in Dining Reviews and Information
I don't know if this is what you are talking about. We have done some 'Grand Gathering' dining as part of our family & friends Grand Gatherings we have had over the years, usually at Thanksgiving. The best Thanksgiving dinners we have had at WDW (with traditional type food) were: 1) Whispering Canyon Cafe - the best food (according to our group), the only drawback was not very many large tables. 2) Liberty Tree Tavern - good food & kind of neat being in that setting. 3) Trail's End - of course Ohanas is pretty good for a regular GG, but reserve early to try & get the couple of long -

When it is open, it is a welcome relief to the usual fare of burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, etc.
