  1. It would be nice if they could figure out a way for smaller children to ride. They miss out on all the animatronic figures.
  2. You can die anywhere. When it's your time, it's your time. It is tragic, especially considering the time & place. That is also like the ones that die on a thrill ride anywhere, because of "an unknown prexisting condition" that can even strike children.
  3. I have used the firepit with the dome mesh cover. I was told as long as it is covered to prevent sparks from escaping with some type of mesh screening.
  4. I am planning a lengthy retirement trip beginning May 2012 for about 12 weeks - 6000 miles. We are basically going to start at San Antonio, then work our way up to Carlsabad Caverns, Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, then drop back down to I-90 & go East & do Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower, the Badlands, continue East, then go North on I-35 to Minneapolis & do Mall of America (there goes the charge card). Then we will drop back down I-35 to Kansas City, then go East on I-70 to St. Louis and then conclude our trip stopping at Branson, MO b
  5. We always like the food, even my youngest, who is picky. But I agree, the food prices at WDW in general are getting too high. There is a point in time they need to stop justifying increasing prices just because "people will pay it".
  6. Ken has been there forever. I have never seen him in a bad mood.
  7. Oh yes - Ohana's  Always a must do & is our favorite place to eat. Of course, like any restaurant, anywhere, they can have a bad day. I have even gotten many their recipies and have Ohana night at our house. I can come close to them, but can't replace it. I did like the addition of the Bananas Foster over the bread pudding (& I am not a big bread pudding fan), but I understand those who miss the pineapple caramel desert. I know for a while, they still offered it a-la-cart, but they really should give you a choice. And I love the peanut dipping sauce, I dip just about everythi
  8. OK, I'm officially worried. I have been piecing together a lighting display that I intead on using during our holiday stay in 2012 (and beyond). I am using almost all led's for lighting, so as not to have a large power consumtion. I guess we will find out this year if it has been in vain. Do they not know that everyone (at least everyone I know or have talked to) enjoys the lighting displays. Not to mention, it makes for free advertising for the Fort.
  9. Welcome to the FF Boards. I'll bet that hurts the old wallet with air fare & all. It makes me not want to gripe about buying gas for my 1600 mile round trip driving my MH. Have a good time !!
  10. I always leave mine out at night, but I use awning deflappers and tie it down. I also keep it at lower angle. The only exception is when we are camping by the ocean, in which case I just roll out the awning as I need it. I have seen those 'little' gusts of wind coming from the ocean take out many awnings, tied down or not. I have only lost one awning due to a storm w/ wind and of all things, it pushed down on it and broke the tube.
  11. I have not tried their newest lunch menu, but when they tried the cold lunch menu a few years back during the off season, it was a flop.
  12. How about the ice cream. Good stuff. They really need to bring back the soft serve at the Fort.
  13. Even though I am not beer fanatic, I will always get a liter when we are at the Biergarten (it is traditional) and will grab one at UK.
  14. We always eat at the eos every trip. My favorite is the original, but I will get the holiday sandwich when in season. I am also amazed how quick they work even when the que is full.
  15. Get some of those 5 gallon bucket/containers that are used for cleaning chemicals, chlorine tablets, etc. & fill with water. They weigh about 41 pounds when filled. The containers seal nicely & have a sturdy handle to tie off to. You could also use sand. Try to use all the immoveable objects first (trees, camping unit) before using an alternative.
  16. They really need to light up the Yeti better. You almost don't notice him.
  17. Our favorite place used to be located right behind the store that sells the Christmas stuff at Liberty Square; but, they turned it into a smoking area. Up until then, it was secluded, shaded, with benches and a really good - ice cold water fountain. Now we will grab a Coke at Cosmic Rays & sit in the outside dining area, that faces the castle. As long as it is not lunch or dinner time, it is usually quite vacant.
  18. Twice a year. 15 hours. 828 miles. Lately, I will leave about 5:00 in the afternoon (or as soon as my DW gets off work), stop about 1:00 AM to catch a long nap, then start driing again around 6:00 AM.
  19. For thrill type rides - Tower of Terror But we always have to do the classics at MK or it just doesn't feel like you are at Disney World. Pirates, Peter Pan, Small World, etc. - You know what I mean.
  20. It would be definately worth the cold for an empty MK, how awesome !! Need to put your cookie recipe on the recipe thread. (so I can find it later :) ) Great TR !!
