  1. We'll be there the last week it runs.  From what I've read the food is under appreciated versus Food & Wine which I'm guessing it should be?  We will have been to both after this next trip, and we is me and the mini monsters.  I enjoyed the F&W but the girls weren't too impressed.  I'm thinking there is more for them to do and the food choices are more along the lines of something my kids would eat.  We do a good size garden every year so this is more of something they can relate to.  And of course being little girls, flowers are awesome!

  2. Yes they did have the tents along the ridge off the sites and what we heard several times from CM's was "we have a group of 500". Whether it was that group or the gang in the "Group caming area" since it was also full, I don't know. Consequently they were more lenient about the number or cars per site since the overflow and the overflow overflow parking were full. But as I said earlier I cannot believe how well behaved everyone seemed to be this weekend at least the couple times I was up in 1600 abd going by 1500. Also we did not see the usual number of teens driving recklessly nor did we see any Gators or Mules or the mass congestion at the 3 way that usually occurs on the holiday weekends.

And you are absolutely correct it was a beautiful weekend.

Sounds like it was a great weekend at the Fort!

  3. Being the cynic that I am, my first guess is that Disney didn't send their Good Sam "membership check" out fast enough this year.....   ;)

I agree, there is a campground not far from my house that is an 8 on their scale.  I've been there, not so much.  There are quite a few we have come across that are rated high and should be at the most a 4.

  4. Let me know what you thought!  My 180 is in 17 days so I'm planning everything out now. :)

I say do it!  We went with the kids and we all loved it. Its a great vantage point and a super way to relax after a day at the parks.   Being without them would be great because you can avoid the "stroller dash" out of the parks to get all the kids to bed after the show.  We had the girls in back carriers to avoid the stroller fiasco and they feel asleep so we were able to stroll around a very empty park for August standards.

  5. Me either. It's expensive. But you also meet Captain Hook, Smee, and Peter Pan. Z would love it. He wants to meet Captain Hook so badly!

The cruise splits into two different boats and the characters do not go on the boats, just for the desserts and the walk down to the party.  We happened to be catching a boat back to the Fort and got to see the pirate procession to the boats.  The boats take up both sides of the dock so you have to wait for the resort boats, it was about 15 minutes.  The cool thing was that Capt Hook and Smee came right up to us after everyone loaded the pirate boats and departed.  The girls love Peter Pan so it was a awesome mistake for them!  Find out what the departure time is and head to the Contemporary dock before, it worked out nicely for us considering the girls don't do well very late.

  6. I think I am the only one that would be concerned about this, but I am sharing anyway.  I noticed on the campground website that there is a limit of 6 people per site.  As my username shows, that would not work for me and my kids, esp. if my husband wants to come along.

I called the campground and asked about it and they said I would need to let them know when I booked the site, but it would be fine for all 8 of us to share a site. :D

Not sure we can make this GG, but I am hoping!

If you or anyone else ever need to put a few on our site to get past those issues, easy peasy!
