  1. I just booked the first week in May to take the kids down for the first leg of Dads deployment.  I can't participate in the festivities but would love to drop by to say "hello"  to everyone.  Its been far to long since I've seen some of you and need to finally meet the other gals.

  2. We have a plethora of allergies in our family and fell in love with Disney this year because of how accommodating they are for food allergies.  I have cried watching my daughter eat a dessert at Chef Mickeys because of how normal they made us feel.  This is the only kiosk for allergies as of right now.  They have allergy friendly treats through out all the parks and resorts.  Most of the restaurants can accommodate any allergy issue.  If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me and I'd be glad to help.  You can also contact Special Diets,  [email protected]

  3. For all the reasons mentioned above that's why I got a V8 on my truck when I bought the new one. Yes, I'm towing a measly 2000 lbs, but the old truck had only a 5,000lb capacity. The new one has 7,000lb capacity. Since the CCC on the trailer is so low, that means a lot of stuff in the truck, so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of capacity to fill the truck with stuff and still not even feel the trailer back there.

We have a Chevy 2500 HD towing a 4000lb TT, it makes it easy.  We are looking at an additional vehicle due to the expanding family and I really don't want a mini van.......I'm thinking a Suburban that can act as a back up tow vehicle if needed.

  4. I am wondering if that point where people stop paying the Fort prices are not already here. I do believe for the first time in I can't remember how long, I am actually considering staying off property because the prices are so out of line for the summer.

I agree and I was just looking at other options.  We are staying at Shades of Green in May, normally you wouldn't get Mbands but because we have them from our Dec Fort stay they are still valid with the AP.  Its cheaper to stay at the SOG or a value (with discount) than at the Fort.  There is a great deal of chatter on the SOG site because Disney has yet to figure out a way to include SOG guest in the bands.  Apparently, the agreement with the DOD and Disney was that SOG would receive the same treatment as other resort guests (except for room charges) but its not happening with the bands.  Our tickets used to work with paper FP but not with the new until you get to the park and visit a kiosk like other non resort guests.

  5. OK, what about if you don't have a smart phone?

(I know, I know, get with the technology old geezer, but hey, we're trying to save some money, here.)

If I'd be in line, and then got refused, and then couldn't show the CM my info because I don't have a smart phone, I would be very pissed.  Good thing we probably won't be going for another year or so.  They should have all the issues straightened out by then, right?  Or maybe they'll be back to paper fast passes....

when we had issues in Oct & Dec I had my smart phone but MDE wouldn't load.  The CM turned us away even with a screen shot for the Little Mermaid, my oldest was in tears.  I was able to get MDE to work and went back not 5 minutes later and he then let us in.

  6. I've had 2 vehicles catch fire in my yute. First was a Chevy Blazer, brand new, burnt to the ground while out hunting in the JW Corbett area. I can attest to the fact that once the fuel line catches they go very fast. Doesn't matter  how much mud or dirt you try and throw on em.  There were three of us hunting and all of our hunting gear when up with the blazer. Still don't really know why other than a fuel leak of some kind. I distinctly remember a bunch of hunters pulling up and one of them was laughing quite hard. I don't know why but I did not think it was very funny. Well, needless to say, Karma hit him quite hard that year.

I purchased another blazer after that with the insurance payment but hung 2 fire extinguisher on each side of the cab in this one. Used them both on that one too saving the blazer. We were out 4 wheeling. Fuel leaked on the headers. Well, I traded it in for a GMC Step Side pick up. Was done with blazers. This was back in the 70's.

Fires extinguishers are a good thing.

    Appropriately named "Blazer"

  7. The TCD girls are huge Pocahontas fans too.

She has a huge role in Fantasmic, and there is a very elaborate scene based on the movie in that show.  You ought to give that show a try, Ken.

We also were big fans of the Hunchback show at MGM.  And the Pocahontas show which preceded that in the same theater.

    TCD

I have yet to keep the girls up late enough to see Fantasmic, I need to work on that for this next trip.

  8. I squeeze our 2500 crew cab in the garage, when we get tires, not going to happen.  My neighbor was renting the house across the street and was one of those little guys who worked out all the time, cold barely get his arms to his sides.  He went out and bought a big ol jacked up Tundra and tried all afternoon to measure the garage so he could get it in.  Hilarious!   Great entertainment at watching him and his little man temper get all riled up.
