Cortezcapt (Derek) got a reaction from Tri-Circle-D in Camp equipment/ kitchen
Im with you on having the trailer stocked with its own stuff. It makes it much easier when it comes time to load and unload. Some our stuff was extras from around the house, garage sale finds, or bought for the trailer. The kitchen I keep stocked with dry foods, spices, mixes and such, then rotate them out when needed.
My suggestion is start out with the basics and add and subtract as you use it. There will be things youll find that you really need and others that you thought you couldnt live without and never use while camping. As you find things you need or wish you had add them, from time to time look through what you have and remove what you havent used. Youll be surpised how much you can hide and forget you have, even in a small camper.
A couple decks of cards or some games your family enjoys is a thing to find a spot for though. Great for rainy days or just relaxing around the site. we keep a cribage board, deck of cards and uno in the trailer.
Also think multi use on things, Tupperware bowls with lids for mixing, tervis tumblers (great for hot or cold beverages), utensils that can be used on the grill as well as with pots and pans.
Most important thing is to enjoy it and remember worse case scenario theres usually a store near by or make fun of improvising till you can get what you're missing.

I was talking with one of the captains a couple weeks ago, he told me they were doing some reinforcing around the water bridge and that those they were told were going to go near or around the legs of the monorail track that are in the water. Sorta like bumpers. By the contemporary / water bridge.
Supposedly there have been a couple of close calls with the boats and monorail legs.
At least that's what I was told, who knows if it's the truth or just speculation on their part as well.

I agree very ugly and a major fail for Disney themeing you would think that they could have come up with a more Fort themed way of doing it. Lines of horseshoes, animal tracks, something. All it would take is a stencil and a sign at the beginning of each loop explaining what they are or or CM at check in explaining. I'm hoping if they add them to other loops they put some more thought into it.

Cortezcapt (Derek) got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in 3-in-1 Breakfast Station
Just pick up a toaster at Walmart Sunday 2 slice Rival, super light, has rubber feet that grip out counter pretty well, takes up very little room and the best part it was under 7.00. So far its made toast for 3 the past 2 days with no problem. Think they had a 4 slicer for around 9.
Have a skillet, 4 cup coffee maker and stove top percolator and they all probably take up less room and are easier to clean.

Was doing some looping and saw that all the sites in the 300 loop
Don't know when they were done or if they have already discussed. Didn't see during our July trip.
I'm assuming they are a no parking past this point kinda thing, I like they idea and they seem to be working. Only saw one site with a car parked over the line, but it's not a weekend or holiday. We'll see what happens.
Love the idea, if it works. Don't care for the look. Maybe a horseshoe pattern or something for related.

We have been given a set for every reservation. I chained them all together (like paper rings) and used them as garland this year at Christmas, had about about a 6 ft chain.

Cortezcapt (Derek) reacted to ependydad...Doug in Big Rig on Full Hookup
Ok- my wife and I are trying to sneak away for a long Memorial Day weekend. But the costs are adding up- it is making me wonder if I can squeeze a big rig (42' fifth wheel) into a full hookup site? Has anyone done it? Or am I just looking at angst and heartache getting parked?

Cortezcapt (Derek) got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Glow Jars
walmart sells platic jars that look like mason jars.
Another idea is the craft stores usually have the clear plastic ornaments that slpit in 2 and can be painted and put back together. I think those would be cool different shapes and stuff, could even string them together or hang them randomly in trees.

Cortezcapt (Derek) got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Attn: Crafty People - How Would You Do This?
If you found the fonts you like, maybe print them on regular paper then use transfer to get the outlines onto the dresser or cut your own stencils. Distress and the make a "antiquing" glaze that you can paint over the entire dresser to give it that faded look. We got a clear glaze at home depot that you could have tinted any color, did a dresser with the antiqued color, and had some with a little red in it we used on walls.

Its all very strange.
You would think that if it was just that it got struck by lightning and that was it that the would move it or at least put the awning up so there was no more damage. Or if there was a risk of anything happening from it being moved or people being around it that they would clear the loop. Im not up there now but doubt that the Fort is full to the point they couldnt move people around to clear out the loop.
Lets hope it is something simple and no one was hurt but it does all seem very strange.

Cortezcapt (Derek) got a reaction from FunFinder265....Cody in 20% off campsites at the Fort Florida residents
This might be old news but was just on the Disney website and saw this. 20% off campsites most nights for Florida residents till September 27th if booked before September 24th. I looked to see if anything would come up and it showed 68.00 for a premium site for the weekend of the 5th. Just a heads up for any Florida people who may want to make a quick trip in September. Unfortunately it's not showing any availability for labor day weekend.

Not very bright and the "glass" is just floppy plastic. But that could be a good thing, might be able to change it out for holidays or seasons.

Found these at K Mart today. 65% off brought them down to 10.49 battery operated LED light with auto on for 5 hours. Not sure they would be worth the 30.00 original price but for 10.49 could be a fun decoration. Only had these 2 at my local store not sure of any others they might have. <a href="http://s928.photobucket.com/user/cortezcapt82/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140812_114749_zps5uxupycc.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad126/cortezcapt82/Mobile%20Uploads/20140812_114749_zps5uxupycc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20140812_114749_zps5uxupycc.jpg"/></a>.

Cortezcapt (Derek) reacted to BradyBzLyn...Mo in Help w/Loop? Premium pet with other preferences...
WELCOME!
We generally stay in preferred, so I'll let others answer your questions re: premium loops, but I can help with a few questions...
Leashed dogs are allowed on golf carts. Same rules apply when it comes to the areas dogs are not allowed (trading posts, pool, comfort stations, beach, Settlement area/marina)
We rent off-site and have never been told anything specific to dogs on our carts, but we always put a towel down under our beasties to keep the cart as clean as possible.
I'm not sure what the specific policy is, but generally I would say that you're better off sticking to walking dogs in pet loops. There are people that specifically request non-pet loops for various reasons (allergies, fear of dogs, etc.)
July is a busy time at WDW in general, so I'd recommend trying to reserve your dates asap. If you're booking room only (not a package) you only need to put down a one night deposit to reserve your site.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach. There are canals, some of which have dog walks along them, but generally I'd be very wary of letting my dogs wade/swim in them. Like most FL waterways, alligators aren't uncommon, and even though it's Disney, they do turn up from time to time.
There is a hose in the dog park. After our girls run themselves silly, we usually rinse them down to cool off.
One note on site location and fireworks... you will hear them no matter what loop/site you're in at the Fort. They'll be louder towards the lake/beach side of the campground, but you will hear them to some degree no matter where you are.
Here's a thread discussing this along with some suggestions people have offered that might help...
