A Multi-Trip Report including the WBI & Camping Princess Wedding!

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody!

I’ve been gone a while, sorry about that.

I have been checking in every now and then and I’m starting to get caught up on everyone’s great trip reports.

Since my last trip report we’ve done a LOT, and that included two trips to DisneyWorld, they weren’t at the Fort but if you’re interested I’ll share them with you any way.

Since I have a lot to cover and I’m also a big fan of lists, this trip report is going to include:

1. A little bit of Seaside, FL

2. A wedding

3. An upgraded stay at the Contemporary

4. A Celebrity Cruise

5. Back to DisneyWorld for Christmas

6. A HUGE upgrade at the Boardwalk!

7. Maybe another trip to DisneyWorld

Here we are leaving our home in Naples, FL with a loaded down truck around 6pm on Wednesday.

We drove pretty hard and decided to get a hotel in Quincy, FL around 1am to get some sleep.

We were too excited to sleep late so here we are leaving the hotel around 7am.

We had to make a stop in Panama City Beach; the lady making our cake has a Breakfast place so we had breakfast and visited with Renee, and tasted cakes for a couple hours. Her place is Fatty Patty’s and sorry to say we got one of her last wedding cakes, she no longer does them to devote more time to her restaurant.

Finally to Seaside

Just a little side story, I found out about Seaside from the master of trip reports himself, TCD. After reading one of his reports we decided it would be a great place to stop on a drive back from Louisiana last year. So on December 31st 2010 that’s what we did, we rang in the new year there. Then 4 months later when planning our wedding we thought it would be the perfect place for a centrally located wedding for our families. I have to be honest people complained about how much it cost to get to and stay in Seaside but after their first day there they were already planning their next trip. Seaside is really a special place.

Some random seaside Pictures from the weekend, sorry I don’t have many there was a ton but it took a lot of sorting and most weren’t from my camera:

I won’t’ go into too much detail but the weekend but I’ll give you a short run down. First it was pretty cool at night; I think Friday night was in the 30s it would warm up in the day but still pretty cool for Florida, honestly though I thought the weather was perfect. Our families arrived in Seaside on Thursday and we all got settled and went to dinner together that night. Friday was a day to enjoy the area and also when all our friends arrived so lot of visiting and good times. Friday night my mother hosted the Rehearsal Dinner at the cottage they rented, “Changes in Latitude” it was amazing. Everything went great, the cottage itself was three levels, 4 bedrooms and tons of outdoor and open spaces, just a note this isn’t considered a big fancy cottage in Seaside, it was more the mid-range, but honestly I couldn’t imagine the high end ones because this guy was awesome! Since I’m from Louisiana we had a big Cajun dinner, my mom did a great job with Theming and the family all pitched in with cooking, we had fried shrimp and hush puppies, a huge pot of chicken and sausage gumbo, mini-crawfish pies, mini pecan pies, and a lot more that I can’t think of right now. They even brought a huge cake from an amazing bakery in Lake Charles, LA. It was a great time!

Saturday was an easy beautiful day; everyone had a great time renting bikes, eating drinking and touring around. The ceremony got started at 4pm at the Inn by the Sea with the reception right after at Bud & Alley’s. I could add a lot of details but instead I’ll let you check out this link below that shows some of the hundreds of pictures. Also a shout out to our photographer, Amanda Suanne, she was great and took amazing pictures!

Wow!

I am at a loss for words.

I can't remember seeing a more beautiful wedding.

Awesome.

Knowing Seaside as well as I do, I loved looking at all of your photos.

You are right, your photographer is amazing.

I love the photos of you on the East Ruskin Pavilion. That is the one that we visit the most often when we are at Seaside, and I have so many memories of our visits there.

Congratulations Nick and Lisa!!!

Or, as you are know to us, WBI and CP.

I am looking forward to the rest of your report.

Thanks Stefa70!

Our photographer was great and I don't know how or what she did but her pictures came out great. I should mention she was about 7 months pregnant at the time too, but she still ran all over and got tons of great shots!

Me too!! What a beautiful couple!

Thank you!

Ya'll are making us blush!

Thanks TCD! It really was great!

Our photographer works in Seaside a lot and asked to go to that Pavilion specifically she said it was her favorite.

The whole weekend could not have been much better! I can't explain how it felt to see my family enjoying Seaside so much! Our wedding and Seaside really brought the family (mine and her’s) together which everyone knows is hard to do these days with our “busy” lives.

We have tons of stories of the good times we had, but the main thing is everyone fell in love with Seaside and can't wait to go back!

Oh and thanks for all the trip reports lately!

Congrats! Awesome photos!!!

Thank you!

Beautiful pics, WBI!!

Thanks DIT! By the way we really enjoyed your trip report!

Congrats. Your pictures are amazing what a beautiful bride and wedding

Thank you!!

Ok I’m going to try and get another post going, but that will probably be it until Tuesday.

Thanks for reading along everyone! I'll get this post knocked out and then the next one will be at DisneyWorld!

The party lasted way later than we stayed and I’m still hearing stories about it. lol For our honeymoon night we rented a beach front cottage! It’s a two story one bedroom cottage right on the beach, it was awesome!

Here we are the next morning on the porch of our Honeymoon cottage on the beach!

Then after washing off some things on my truck, lots of packing and goodbyes we had lunch and hit the road. We were on a mission to get to DisneyWorld in time for a 9:20pm reservation at the California Grille!

My next post we’ll get to our Contemporary upgrade!

WBI and CP ~ first things first. Congratulations! I wish you both the best in life and in love. Your wedding pictures are breath taking.

I must say, your list had me at HELLO! It mentions my two favorite places in this world:

1. Seaside!

2. Disney!

We go to South Walton county every year for our beach vacation. Our daughter (she's 7) calls it "the camping beach". We stay at Topsail Hill in Santa Rosa Beach. If you've never stayed there....I highly recommend it. I take an afternoon on every trip and go over to Seaside by myself. It's really my time. I go to Sun Dog and buy a couple of books, walk around all of the stores, and make a purchase at the Seaside store. There's something so quaint about that place. Last summer, I took Maddie with me on my pilgrimage for the first time. It was a nice mommy/daughter day. :)

I am so excited to read more of your adventures. Sounds like you've had a wonderful couple of months recently.....so don't keep us waiting any longer!!!

Congrats!

We have been to Seaside several times and love it. It just has a great vibe that you don't find many places! Enjoyed seeing the pics from it. It's been too long since we were there last!

On a sad note, I am somewhat disappointed that I have something in common with Holly. There must be some red and black in her somewhere...

Thanks it was awesome!

I highly suggest it!

I wish we could have stayed there longer!

Incredible. Each picture I see is even better than the one before it. You both look so happy. Congratulations!

Thank you!

We are very happy!

Congratulations WBI and CP!! What an absolutely beautiful wedding! And that cottage!! TOO CUTE!!! I think I need to talk DH into a "mommy/daddy" vacation in Seaside!! LOL

Thank you!

You should make a trip to Seaside, it really is a great place to relax!

What a beautiful setting for your wedding! Fantastic pictures! Thanks for sharing! Congratulations!

Thank you!

Seaside was amazing, even in the Fall everything was still beautiful!

Congrats on your wedding!

DH and I were in Salt Lake the weekend before attending our oldest sons wedding. We had cold weather and snow the morning of the wedding, but it was beautiful. I know DH would have liked a warmer weather wedding. LOL!

Thank you! And congrats to your son!

Yeah having it warm up during the day made it real nice, I don't think we could of handled that real cold weather.

Congratulations, what a beautiful wedding!

Thanks so much!

I enjoyed the slide show very much. The pictures are gorgeous and y'all look so happy! Congratulations!

Thanks! I love that slideshow, the song was our first dance!

We are very happy!

Ok I’m back! Sorry for the delay but we made a quick two night trip to Disney this past weekend!

It was awesome as usual and I plan to incorporate that trip into this report so I better get moving!

Well its Sunday night (Nov. 13th) and we made it to the Contemporary around 8pm, that was pretty good time. We were pretty excited to stay at the Contemporary, the only Deluxe resort we had stayed at before was the Wilderness Lodge. We booked a Bay Lake view because we couldn’t justify the extra money for the Magic Kingdom view since we wouldn’t be there long anyway. (I was also hoping we would get upgraded to a MK view since it was our wedding weekend in all) To help with this idea, we slipped on our “Just Married” t-shirts before walking in. hehe

We were greeted by an “earing my ears” cast member and a manager, they asked if our shirts were true and they both smiled and said congrats and then whispered something to each other. They then split up and went to working on checking us in.

The manager made us some awesome pins while the other cast member was busy with our check-in.

DSC05379.jpg

After he took our picture the castmember said I’m sorry I can’t check you in here, we would have to wait moment. He saw the puzzled look on our faces and finally grinned and explained we were going to be checking in up staris at the Atrium Club!

Wait! What?! We were shocked! We proceeded to thank him like crazy! We thanked that poor guy a hundred times lol, he and the manager were great! Then the manager escorted us upstairs and introduced us to the concierge cast member who gave us a custom check-in packet with our names on it! We were still in shock at this point and didn’t know what to do!

Here’s our special gold keys!

DSC05380.jpg

Our room was on the 14th floor, (that’s the highest floor with rooms I think) and it overlooked Magic Kingdom! We literally wondered around the room in shock!

It was huge!

It was also right next to the Atrium Club Lounge! Here’s some pictures of the room and details.

DSC05381.jpg

DSC05382.jpg

The bathroom even had a bidet (sp?) wtf? I would have thought that in all the updates those would have been removed. Anyway it didn't get used during our stay, lol.

How about this for a view!

DSC05403.jpg

The room’s fridge was stocked with various drinks all free, plus we had a custom chocolate.

DSC05406.jpg

When you broke open that chocolate it had four smaller chocolates inside!

Ok that’s it for this post! In my next one we’re heading to the California Grill for our first time!
