Tri-Circle-D 2,059 Posted March 5, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2012 I had to work both Wednesday and Thursday but I stopped by Wednesday night for a few hours for a couple of pics!I also got my button!Can't wait to hear about your adventure.That's cool!What time did you stop by?Things got very interesting as the night wore on.I was surprised that they were still giving out the pins late at night.I wonder how many they gave away?I won't say they are my favorite... but I will say don't ever ride the cups with me! I may get motion sick in a car, can't ride the tilt a whirl but I can make people sick on the cups. DH could barely walk the last time... it's all about the control!Oh, I'll bet that the TCD twins could give you a run for the money.I couldn't walk straight after our ride either.I wouldn't count it out. If you're lucky enough to have them want to hang with you at 16, you're way ahead of the game. They will probably appreciate you even more as they get older. Daddy's girls are always Daddy's girls!We'll see.My current 20 year old doesn't make it home too much these days.And she used to be my number one fan!Nah, if they are 20 and in college, they will be needing some $$$$, so you will still be around for a while..... :rofl2: :heart: :rofl2:Seriously, I'm glad yall get to spend so much quality time together! :jumpforjoyI am glad too.I am trying to get as much of that quality time in as possible.Boring and a TCD TR..... Tri-Circle-D 2,059 Posted March 5, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2012 It looks like I can squeeze in another quick update.So, I will.We left off with us heading out of Tommorowland and heading toward the Main Street bakery.It was around 8, and it was time for some breakfast.They broke out all of the old vehicles for the morning.Here's the double decker bus that you don't get to see very often (unless you are TCD) :I don't know what the heck they are doing to the Ice Cream shop, but they have had it boarded up for several weeks now.The front of the bakery is boarded up too.The line came all the way out the door:I'll tell you something that I've learned about WDW lines, though.When the line is long for a ride or something that Disney isn't collecting money for, it can take forever.But, if there's a cash register at the end of the line, that line will move quick.And this one did.While I waited on line, the twins headed across the street to look at the Leap Year merchandise.They saw the Dapper Dans riding on the horse trolley:And the mayor:Look at all the shirts! :Ka-ching!The girls got back just as I set our breakfast down. Two of us had cinnamon rolls, and Twin #2 went with a chocolate eclair:We polished those off pretty quickly, and then headed back toward the front.There's the double decker bus again:And, note how the fog has lifted, and we have a pretty blue sky:Here's a look up Main Street:We are heading over to the Fire Station to sign up for the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. Over there is the car barn, where they keep the horses and trolleys:Check out what they have in a little holder there by the front door:Here we are on line for the Sorcerer's game:Here's some of the signage they have around there:Notice how there is a small crowd gathered outside of the Barber shop. Who knew that many people wanted a hair cut on Leap Day? :It's a good thing we got on line when we did, because a lot of folks got on line after us:Here we are inside the fire station. It still looks like a fire station, not some wizard's headquarters:I am still not real sure what this Sorcerers thing is all about. But what happened when we got to the front of the line is a castmember scanned our tickets, and then gave us a small pack of cards. We then watched a video explaining what this was all about. It was hosted by Merlin, who was not familiar to my girls. I know I have seen him before, but I couldn't tell you what Disney movie he was in:As best as I can tell, what is supposed to happen is you have a map, and are supposed to travel around looking for these portals. When you get to a portal, you swipe the key card they give you, and a Disney villain will appear on the screen. You are then supposed to hold up one of your cards, and that allows you to cast a spell on the villian. For our example our villians were Pain and Panic from Hercules:Here are the cards we got:From here, our next stopping point for the game was near the gift shop. But, there were a good dozen people in a line there waiting to play the game. We quickly lost interest in this, and didn't finish it on this visit. We will try it again another time, but it all seems kind of dumb to us.We headed up Main Street from here. We were going to go to Adventureland, and get those rides all done.On the way, we came across a Dapper Dan performance:And we also got to see the Trolley Show, which I don't remember having seen before:Twin #1 liked the style of this castmember, so she took his photo:As we headed toward the turn for Adventureland, we noticed these ladies walking in front of us:Check out their check-list:We thought that was pretty good.But we didn't get what "spot the beard" meant.Luckily, we ran into these ladies later, and I got a chance to ask them what it meant.I'll save you the suspense and tell you now.They were talking about the fact that castmembers can now wear beards.So, they were going to see how many bearded castmembers they could spot.They said they had seen a couple.Fun times.From here, we turned to our left, and headed over the bridge to Adventureland.We will pick up the report from there in the next post.TCD Quote Link to post Share on other sites
