  3. when we went looping last night there was one camper in the 700 loop. I will look again when we return to the fort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Isn't part of the beauty of camping is to enjoy the wilderness? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Any idea why part of the 1300 loop is closed?
  6. Youtube offers drive thru videos of the different loops. I think I just google Ft Wilderness loops and it brought up several videos. This might help in your decision.
  7. To make sure it fits of course. What he said.
  8. Great thanks. Hopefully we will get in there Sunday.
  9. This is on my list of things to try next week.
  10. We keep ours in our yard. the hubby makes sure the tires are covered and we park on wood boards. He also maintains it by washing and waxing twice a year and maintains the roof twice a year as well.
  11. When we were there May 10 for the son's graduation weekend we went to DTD via Disney transportation. From the time we boarded the bus until we were dropped off at the Contemporary it was 45 minutes. This was our first trip to DTD in a few years so needless to say we were shocked it took so long.
  12. We have never tent camped at the fort so I can't offer much in the way of suggestions but I did want to say Hello and Welcome.
  13. Is there any idea of how long it is going to be closed? We have requested this loop when we arrive June 15.
  14. That was one of the things that the DH insisted on. :) I honestly did not realize what he went through leveling manually. Thanks everyone for the congrats. We are excited and really excited to make our maiden voyage in it to Fort Wilderness.
  15. If it is just overnight any of those parks would be ok. We have stayed at Jellystone and it would be a nice overnight place. The In and Out is okay as well for an overnight stay. There are a lot of restaurants with in walking distance. Olive Garden is next door to it and Longhorn steak house. Wal-Mart and Lowe's are less than a mile from it too. Good luck where ever you decide to stay.
  16. On our recent weekend trip to DW we came across these Mickey plastic ice cubes. That got me thinking about the Mickey head lights I have seen so the DH used the ice cubes and a string of LED Christmas lights and made us a string of Mickey lights. We bought 2 bags of Mickey ice cubes. There were 12 in each bag. And we had a 24 string of white LED Christmas lights He then drilled a hole in the top of each head, drained the water and inserted the bulb. (Sorry no pix of this he did it while I was at work) This is the finished product. I think they look great. The bags were
  17. We have finally taken possession of our new 5th wheel. It was a long process deciding exactly what we wanted and then actually finding the perfect one for us. I will post a couple of pix but haven't had a chance to take any of the inside yet. We are going through it making our list of things that need to be repaired. One major thing is body work on the outside. On the day we did our PID, as we were doing our paperwork someone hit the left upper front area. The dealership does not know if it was one of their people or if it was someone who stopped in. Either way they are making it right. We cou
  18. She is very smooth and silky feeling. She has a but of hair on her ears and paws and tail.
  19. This is Scarlett No'Hara. She will be 4 years old in October. She loves to camp and makes sure she gets a stroll around the campground nightly.
  20. I agree about Biergarten. We actually dinner there this past weekend. The grand baby loved the music. This is our plan. We figure we can save a little by doing lunch and splitting something that way we can try different cuisines and not break the bank. :) The better half doesn't ride very many rides. So we will spend most of our time at the Fort. All of our reservations are either at MK or Epcot and the Poly so except for Sanaa (and we have a FP to do A Bugs Life at 1030 and lunch @ 1230) so we will just hop the bus to the resort. Thank you all for your replies.
  21. For our Empty Nest vacation in June we have decided to try different restaurants at Walt Disney World. I have made reservations for each day except Friday. So far we will be dining at Kona, Be Our Guest, Trails End, Via Napoli, and Akershus Royal Banquet. Does anyone have a favorite place they enjoy? Our plan is to eat lunch except for the Be our Guest,(we have dinner reservations) and then have dinner at the camper. We enjoy trying different foods and since it will be just the two of us we decided it would be doable to eat out more this trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as f
  22. Nice rig 14000 lbs heavy but really cool will you be around the fort in July we will be takeing our new rig on the 4 th I wish we could swing a trip in July too but we are heading to the mountains. However, we will be there in June and December and possibly the end of October beginning of November. The rig is heavy but we loved the floor plan and the fact that it is 35' instead of the 37-40' ones we looked at.We have a 3500 Ram duelly that we will be towing it with.
  23. Congratulations on the new camper. May you have many wonderful nights camping and less truck repairs.
  24. As soon as we pick it up and bring her home I will take some pix. I think we got a great deal on it because we had 2 different dealerships trying to gain our business. It is amazing how a deal can be negotiated when you have a blank bank draft in hand. Anyway we looked at a 2014 Heartland Bighorn 3010'RE and ended up with a 2015 same make model for less than the 2014. The only thing it has that we do not like is the king size bed. We love our queen and by putting it into this camper we will have more room in the bedroom.
  25. With the youngest and last one leaving the nest, the DH and I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to a 5th wheel. We take delivery next Saturday and our maiden voyage will be to the Fort in June. So excited.
