Local Fiends and any Fiends at the Fort... We're throwing together a little last minute Gathering tomorrow, April 11th at 6:00 on my site.
So far Katman AKA not my Jason, Sil, Rita, Ed and the GDF family will be present.
We'll be smoking a ham and also have hot dogs to throw on the egg.
If you can make it, come on! Just post here to let us know you're coming. Old and new Fiends welcome!

A few, including this one from Orlando Theme Park News which appears to be quoting the typical "Reactive FAQs" found on The Hub - the internal CM website. And judging by what/when they post, I'm pretty sure OTPN does have a CM on staff.

All the articles I've read (and this is all over the place today) say that people will be asked to stow them as they enter a ride, like they would any other large object they're carrying. If they whip them out during a ride, they will be asked over the PA system to do so and if they do not, the ride will be stopped.

Since this is a safety issue on attractions more than anything, I think the likelihood they will enforce it more consistently is higher than usual.

Please keep your arms, legs, feet, hands AND random stick-like objects inside the ride vehicle at all times.

Regarding the cold nights - one thing that I discovered recently in scouts are the hand warmer pouches you can get at the bargain stores. They look sort of like tea bags, but generate heat for up to 6 hours when exposed to air. We use them for winter backpacking trips to warm up sleeping bags before climbing in. A lot less to pack

I would bring sheets and a blanket. Lots less bulky than a sleeping bag.
    Towel/washrag
instead of bringing water, invest in a water bottle with a built in filter, then you can filter your water from the tap at the Fort.

So I am compiling my list of items that I will need when I go to the fort so far i have...
    tent
    air mattress (twin)
    sleeping bag
    coffee pot
    extension cord
    power strip
    air pump
flashlight or lantern ( i do have a nice flashlight app on my phone plus a head lamp)
    fan
    pillow
    coffee
    mug
    water
    cereal
    shelf stable milk
    trash bags
toss away bowls and spoons (unless i can snag some from trails end)
    easy mac
    chips
    clothes
    toiletries shower shoes
what else am I missing or could possibly need? I am flying so 50lbs is my limit plus my duffle carry on for over head and my backpack for under the seat...
I'm not really worried about a seat cause doesnt the campsites have picnic table? and im not really planning on cooking but I figured easy mac is a quick meal/snack i'm cheap and so the less i have to buy at wdw for food the better.. I was thinking of maybe shipping down a small box of food

    I'm super excited

Welcome Jeremiah! The question of tent camping and flying has come up here before and there has been a lot of great advice and even a Trip Report. I am on my phone so, adding links is kind of a pain. I will go ahead and bump the threads that may be of interest to you.
Oops sorry looks like Jason borrowed a tent from Carol when he flew in for the 5K.

Welcome. If you don't want to haul your tents, The Fort has tents for rent. Staying at The Fort is all about being social and enjoying the amenities; however, keep in mind that most of the sites around you will have families with kids so anything "not child appropriate" will have to be kept to a minimum. As long as the boistress-ness is before quiet hours, you should be OK.
    Good luck with the races!
PS: here is the link to the tent rental information:

If your stuff is in your checked luggage, I would think you can get it to the campground via Magical Express, Disney's complimentary bus from MCO to all the resorts.

"Tent camping with teenagers" caught my eye, as that is rapidly becoming a favorite hobby of mine these days.  :)

Here is a link to an AC I am seriously thinking about trying if we pull together a summer camping trip this year.  Looks so very fun.

Looks very easy and like it could work for even a newbie like me.

Have fun!  10 days at the Fort with a big group sounds like a blast, even in August in a tent!
