  1. That is cool! I didn’t know anyone could get married inside any of the parks. I learned something new!
  2. This looks interesting. Animal Kingdom is my favorite park and I was worried that the Pandora area wouldn't work there. I'm not a fan of the movie. Does the land seem to go with the rest of the park? I've always loved the theming at AK.
  3. Yay! A new trip report! My 13 year old daughter guessed Jedi Elsa right away. There are some interesting costumes. I'm sure it was great people watching!
  4. It really does look like Spanish moss unless you know what you're looking at. And I think there is a champagne cork in a tree in the 1400 loop that we may or may not have left there? We saw the tropical storm and since it looked like it would be gone before we got there, we took the chance and booked the weekend. We got there Friday the 10th around noon. We were in 1008, and for a long time there was only us and one other family on that loop. It did fill up by Saturday, though. The only stormy weather we saw was Friday evening, but since we were inside Raglan Road at the time celebrating
  5. This is so sad. I guess most visitors to Florida are not as aware of the wildlife as campers are. We have seen several gators around the Fort, two near the 300 loop and the dog park. We have seen water moccasins as well and had to warn people away from the water's edge. We reported what we saw each time and Disney employees showed up quickly and removed the gators (and the snake they could find!). I'm sure the family is devastated and my heart goes out to them.
  6. It sounds like the girls had a great time and things didn't get too crazy. You and Mrs. TCD are very thoughtful hosts! The breakfasts and cookout were just the sort of thing my kids and their friends would appreciate! I love the decorations at the cabin- the twine is still there, by the way. We just got back from the Fort last night and we saw the twine while looping. It almost looks like Spanish moss?
  7. Happy Birthday to the TCD twins! ? I hope they had a good time! My oldest will be 21 in December ?
  8. We have had our Airstream, a tent and a screen room on one site with no issues. It was a large site, though, in the 1900 loop. You may feel more crowded in the preferred loops as most of the sites are smaller. When we had a pop up, we usually stayed in the 300 loop and I don't think I would have wanted both a tent and a screen room. However, it was a very large pop up (we called it the Beast) and our truck is large as well.
  9. I had no idea Ray Bradbury was involved with Disneyland. And I am a science fiction fan. Fail on my part. It looks like you had a great time visiting the girls. I'm sure you miss them. I miss my daughter and she's only 2 hours away. She's having so much fun at school she hasn't been home much this year. I think maybe the guy in the lab coat could be Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but that costume wouldn't go with the others so maybe not. The girl with Pocahontas looks like a samurai Woody.
  10. Your pictures are beautiful! I really wish they would do the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay at WDW. It's my favorite Halloween movie and I would love to see it at the Haunted Mansion. While we have children in school, I don't see us making it to California during the fall
  11. I'm enjoying your report very much, it's been years since we were at Disneyland. I apologize for the down arrow. I accidentally tapped it when scrolling on my iPad and I don't know how to fix it. If someone can tell me how, I will change it to up!
  12. Good luck to the girls! And drive carefully! The west is very hot and dry right now. Last month we were driving from the Hoover Dam to Los Angeles and were just ahead of the I-15 wildfire that people had to run from. Scary stuff.
  13. Our Airstream is in progress. I don't know if we will ever get it finished, but you are welcome to see what we have done! It's a 1977, and had not been renovated when we got it. We couldn't save the vintage orange shag carpet or brown floral upholstery (I was not heartbroken about this). We don't get over to Lanier much since we live next to Allatoona. But I would love to meet you even if we have to go all the way to Fort to do it! We will be there for New Years. Sorry for the aside. Let the trip report continue...
  14. I'm in! I'm totally with with you on avoiding the 2000 loop. The one time we camped in that loop was enough. And it wasn't even a holiday.
  15. DLP looks very pretty! And it didn't seem crowded in your pictures. Did you find any crowds there? I would have thought the Indiana Jones ride would be like the one at DL. Disappointing. I loved the one in DL (we went for one day 18 years ago!) and I always wished WDW would get that ride too. I'm interested in how you and your DD liked Paris. I'd like to go there.
  16. Good that you found the TIW card! We had one when we had APs and it saved us a ton of money. I'm glad you're finishing the report. I hope everything is ok. I always enjoy reading about your trips. Especially since we seem to visit the same places! I hope to see you at a game some time. Go Dawgs!
  17. There was a fee for luggage, but I don't remember what it was. We had carry ons only, so I wasn't really paying attention to it. They also were pretty strict about the size of the carry on, but we knew about that beforehand and our bags were fine. We loved not having big bags to check and possibly get lost.
  18. I'm enjoying your report! It's bringing back memories of going to London and Ireland several years ago. We really enjoyed the Guinness in Dublin- at the brewery- but I had never really liked it before. It tastes different there. I didn't care for the black pudding. Maybe it was knowing there was blood in it. I thought Ireland was beautiful. The greenest place I've ever seen. I felt at home there. We stayed with my cousin in London. We went there first and then took a $20 flight to Dublin on RyanAir. It was fine, just basic. We did the Tower of London tour and really enjoyed it. Lots of history
  19. Congratulations to the girls! That is awesome! I wish my niece had done more to get in the WDW CP. She told them she wouldn't do a cleaning type of job. She didn't get in.
  20. No, just that that the guard was able to read the cards with her scanner and let us in for our O'hana reservation without any problems. We didn't wear our MBs because we didn't have park passes this trip and didn't think about needing them. They worked on the FW gate, though. :)
