Planning Our Trip - Question

Your best bet is to call Disney directly and ask for the AAA discount. Usually the AAA office will only give you the discount on a package. -

Best Walt Disney World Brunches
Disneyzombie-Brenda replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in Dining Reviews and Information
There are a lot of really good benches at Walt Disney World and I have tried most of them. I like ones next to the rose garden in the MK. The brunches looked good too! -
AAA Discount

Before getting an AP, I used Undercover tourist throught the Mousesaver newsletter link. That was the best discount I could find for park tickets. -
Grocery store options
Disneyzombie-Brenda replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We actually use the freezer as a cooler and add a frozen milk jug full of water to keep a few things cold for the trip down. We have found the prices at the stores near the Fort comparable and buy our meats and perishables when we get there. The prices are in line with HEB. Last trip we shopped at Walmart and Publix. -

The Hess station does have diesel. 3.39 a gal. today. And in case you need to know the Super Walmat and the Publix sells Blue Bell Ice Cream, I don't know about the Winn Dixie...didn't go there. And bring a crock pot.....you can have your dinner cooking while you enjoy the parks. -
Why the golf carts?
Disneyzombie-Brenda replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We do not bring or rent a cart, we ride our bikes. There are bike racks all around the campground including the pool, marina, and the bus stop at the Outpost. There is also an internal bus with stops in every loop that take you to either the marina or the outpost to board transpertation to the parks. Fort Widerness is a large campground. It is do-able without a cart. -
Just booked a premium site for Sept. 9-19 and got a 20% AAA discount. $72.00 a night including tax.

Considering First Trip
Disneyzombie-Brenda replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Read all the trip reports! You should try to do at least one Princess Character Meal. In my opinion the breakfast at the castle in the Magic Kingdom is the best. Try to get an ADR(reservation) before the park opens on your first day at the Magic Kingdom. It’s not easy to get this reservation. It’s so magical for a little Princesses first experience to walk into the park and head straight for the castle and meet Cinderella first thing. Not to mention the great photo opps with no people on Main street Oh and make sure to bring some princess attire. -
Considering First Trip

Welcome! I haven't made the trip from Texas YET....but hope to this fall. We currently live in Ohio....we plan to move to Boerne, TX. as soon as we sell our house. We usually take two days to do the 1000 miles treck down I 75. I will also be interested in hearing about the haul from TX to FL. -

MK Fireworks...Dessert party or camp a spot?

They have gotten really pickey where you stand in front of the castle, you can not lean on any of the railings along the path from the bridge going into Tommorow land to somewhere on the other side of the castle. They want to push everyone up to the stage. We run into some really nasty cast members. One screamed at my Daughter and DH for having thier heels on the tape. And I mean screamed, not just asked them to move forward. A superviser came along and told the cast member that we were OK. She still stood right there next to us to make sure we didn't step back that 1/2 an inch. This was the f
