  1. Thanks for the info. I was going to say it was because of poop. Mostly because I wanted to say "poop" in a trip report. No, you have not asked me where in Georgia. I assume that you will ask soon. I'll go ahead and answer for you: Covington. About 30-45 minutes (depending on traffic) East/Southeast of the ATL (down I-20). Though, I do have to say that I am not FROM Covington, but have lived here for about 10 years.
  2. Moving on... Here are a few more pics from our first Settlement expedition: If I could sleep on one foot with my head turned around backwards, would I? No. This duck thinks it's a good idea, though. My girls loved this playground. Ok, they love any playground. But this one has a really steep slide on the far side that even I was tempted to try. I didn't. See the horse coming? Someone's riding it. Ok, let's discuss the last three pics. $1000 for info regarding the death of Jim Allen, $1000 for the guy who held up the stagecoach, and only $300 for Curly, who robbed another stagecoa
  3. Maybe if I saw it every day it would get old, but that's still hard to imagine!
  4. We just returned from our inaugural camping trip in our new TT to the Fort. We have been to Disney World before. We have camped before (once). This was our second camping trip to the Fort (or EVER for that matter). Lesson Learned: we still have a lot to learn. In this TR we'll cover all of the lessons learned. Some of the lessons will be how to not use the monorail, what different alarms in the TT mean, how to identify floating objects in the pool, and the what happens to tetherballs when they go missing. We spent all of Saturday packing the trailer, figuring out what we needed or didn't nee
  5. We were there Tuesday, and out of all the food you tried and all the food we tried, not a bit of it was the same. I guess we didn't try the right things! Of course were working off of a $125 Disney Rewards Redemption card, so about $30 of it was spent on slushies from France. Maybe that affected our food decision making...
  6. We were there last December around the 20th, and it varied. The mornings and nights were pretty cold, but the days warmed up nicely. We weren't prepared and ended up buying my DD3 an overpriced jacket in the AK when we were there freezing our tails off one morning. It was downright freezing, plus it was windy. By that afternoon, it wasn't needed anymore and we were ditching clothes all over the place...
  7. Happy Birthday. Is 50 really old? I hear it's the new 40. Of course, if you think 40 is old, then being the new 40 may not sound good at all. If it makes you feel any better, you and my grandmother share the same birthday. She will be 86 I think. That should make you feel a lot better about being 50! Can't wait to read more. We arrive at the fort in two weeks so this is great timing to get me even more excited!
  8. Glad you got to see the Braves, but under the circumstances I have to say GO CARDS!!! (I may live just outside of the ATL, but I'm a Redbird fan for life!!!)
  9. That settles it. Now my wife will HAVE to let me get my own cart so we can avoid all of these rental shenanigans! Woo hoo! FYI, I still have a rental set up with Kenny for the 9th through 12th! Can't wait!
  10. And that's why I like Fortfiends. Jen throws the crap down.
  11. I've only been to FW once, and we were in 1933. It was dry at the time, but I can see how it could be bad when wet. There also wasn't any room on either side for the kids to play. I'm hoping for 1700 next time.
  12. That's a monster. I wouldn't be surprised if it eats campers.
  13. Thanks to all! I'll put up pics as soon as I can take them on Saturday! We made our first trip to FW in a rented trailer back in December, and fell in love! Can't wait to get back and explore more. I'm glad to hear that someone else has a Crossroads...I haven't found many people online who seem to have them, and I rarely see them out and about...at least not in our area. Don't really understand why though with the 2 year warranty. Plus, we got a great deal on a 2011 that they have had since at least January...we walked through this exact trailer at the ATL RV show back in January! Grea
  14. After 9 months of deliberating, we are picking up our first TT on Saturday. A little/lot scared, but excited. We already have our site booked for three nights in Oct to try it out. Thanks for all the info posted on here that helped us make our decision, and wish us luck! Btw, it's a 2011 Crossroads Zinger ZT26BH. Hope we made a good decision (too late now anyway)!!!
  15. I don't post much (I lurk often), but I just had to say that I'm finished with the green place. It's gotten too weird with "she who must not be named" posting regularly...even under fiends threads. Smells fishy. Purple is better than green anyway...
