CKCK got a reaction from Momof6....aka Marty in SCREWED
Thanks to all for your concerns!  Once we got to the Fort I basically zoned out (aka drank a lot of beer) for the remainder of the time and didn't even get on the world wide web.

I'll save details for the TR (hopefully we'll get that going this week, even though I do still have our Thanksgiving report to put up), but I will share this now:

    bearings suck.

Actually they're really good, but I'm kind of mad at them at the moment.

I will say that I now own an IR thermometer (coolest toy I've bought in awhile...I checked so many temperatures), our trip home from the Fort took a record LONG time (because I was paranoid and stopped every hour to check the temps), and I will be pulling off all four hubs (including the new one) and checking/repacking everything before our next trip.

I always knew ABOUT bearings and knew to grease them (and did using a grease gun), but I now know that using a grease gun (like the video up top) is NOT the way to do it properly, and that bearings need to be inspected and REPACKED by pulling them off, not just squirting new grease in with a grease gun.

So, an expensive and scary lesson learned.  The end.

I was hoping you wouldn't find me.  I wanted it to grow like FF.net and then come back and surprise everyone here.  Oh well, my plan is ruined now, so I guess I'll just stay here.

    Still Day 2:

At some point during this day (don’t remember when) we went looping and came across MicknMin setting up camp.  We had a nice chat and found out that they were waiting on a GC key because they didn’t have theirs.  Luckily they had a daughter who picked one up on the way down.

That is one of my biggest fears...forgetting the GC key, charger, or more importantly forgetting the keys to the TT.

On a side note, later in the trip we had a neighbor come down to our site who was locked out of their TT.  They had stepped outside and somehow the door locked behind them.  We couldn’t figure out how that could happen, but somehow it did.  They borrowed every tool I could find but still couldn’t get in.  I think about every Fort maintenance worker ended up at their site trying to help them (and totally blocked the loop and parked all up on the grass).  They eventually had to call a locksmith.

While one of the Fort rangers was there trying to “help”, he couldn’t help himself but to scold them.  They had a little citronella candle, the kind in the bucket, burning on the table.

He made them put it out because it was an open flame.

    Seriously.

Way to kick them while they are down.

I only took one pic of our afternoon at the Fort.

    And it involves a PSA.

I wish I had taken a video of this whole scene.

At least 2 of these golf carts were together.

    Carrying on a conversation.

While driving two wide down the road.

What you can’t see in this pic was the best part.

The cart on the front right was pushing someone on an ECV.

Seriously.  You can’t make this stuff up.

Then they decided they needed to block the road to figure out where they were going next.

    ?

How can people be so unaware of their surroundings and the people around them?  I have ranted about self-centeredness in the past.  Yet it seems that I generally have more and more to rant about each trip.

    People are sucking more.

As far as the golf cart thing goes, my wife thinks that people get to the Fort, get in their Fort “zone,” and forget that they are driving carts on roads that have other people on them as well.

I think people are just dumb.

So next time you want to have a conversation with people in another golf cart, please get out of the flipping road.

Oh, and don’t drive the flipping ECVs on the roads.

    Duh.

    End PSA.

    It was Epcot time.

We didn’t know they were working here just as you enter the World Showcase.

Anyone know what they’re doing there?  I know about the new food place in Morocco, but this is on the other side of the lagoon.

We didn’t really have a plan of attack for the evening, other than that we were going to get some food and drinks as we made our way around.

Our first stop was at guest services inside the park to pick up a new Disney Visa redemption card.

Had to get my redemption on.

While waiting in there, my wife continued our financial winning.

She found a crumpled up $10 bill under a chair.

No one was around, nor had there been anyone there for awhile.

She sat there waiting while I took care of things to see if anyone would come in.

    No one did.

I felt a little bad, because eventually someone was going to realize they were $10 short, but if we didn’t take it someone else would.

    So we did.

I guess I’ll have to pay it forward.

Our first stop was La Cava de Tequila in Mexico for chips, queso, and a jalepeño margarita.

Did I mention we were bagless again?  Sorry for the crummy pics.

After Mexico we worked our way down to Italy to Tutto Gusto.

    I really dig their lights.

We split a wine flight and each got a panini.

If you read CKCK 3.0 you might remember that we went here last summer.

    And got wine.

One of the wines was awful.  So awful that we named it new shoe wine because that’s what it tasted like.

    Well guess what.

We got it again.  It was the Tre..

Now we know.  No more new shoe wine.

The paninis were okay.  I wished they would have been pressed more, but whatever.  They came with a lettuce wedge...aka “salad.”  All in all they went well with the wine.

From here we left and headed towards France.  I didn’t get a pic, but we obviously got a Grand Marnier slushy.

    duh.

    Some pics along the way:

I love the caladiums all around WDW right now.  The MK is rocking a bunch as well.

Maybe it was just the angle we were at, but it took me forever to figure out that the big building behind Canada is Soarin’.  It was really confusing me just because it looked so out of place there.

I call this photo, Rainbow over Epcot torch thing.

At this point we were getting some wicked lightning all over the place.  I was worried that we were about to have a storm drop on us and wanted to get back to the Fort.

Turns out the rain never happened, so we ended up going to the beach to watch fireworks when we got back to the Fort.

The greatest thing about the entire night?  Between the $10 DW found and our visa redemption points, I only spent $1 out of pocket for the entire night.

    Bam.

Tomorrow would be a big day, because not only would we be going to the AK and experiencing some new-to-us things, but the redheads would also be coming!

I’m also subtitling this TR, “Welcome back, CKCK.”

Kinda like “Welcome back, Kotter,” except not.

If you want, you can sing the theme song and think of me.

    Or not.

If you don’t know the theme song, then you fail.  I was barely 1 when that show ended, and I know the theme song.

Not that I remember it from when I was a baby.  I just know it because I’m me.

    Bam.

Some of you may be thinking to yourselves, “self, who is this CKCK guy and what does he think he’s doing with this TR?  I’ve never even heard of this CKCK guy.”

That’s because CKCK has been incognito for awhile.

    AKA, absent from FF.net.

    doh.

But now I’m back to write this TR.

Some of you may be thinking to yourselves, “self, this CKCK guy is absent for months, then just waltzes in here and thinks he can write a TR.  This CKCK guy is whack.”

Who uses “whack” anyway?  For those of you who thought that, you are officially uninvited from this TR.

    Bam.

So this was our 7th trip to the Fort in the history of us, but this is only my 6th TR.  That’s because I didn’t do one on the first trip.

    Why, you ask?

    No idea.

This was our second annual anniversary trip.  Two nights without the girls, then my parents brought them down, stayed for two nights, then headed to the beach while we stayed at the Fort.

I call that the best of both worlds (see CKCK 3.0).

As usual, this TR will feature food, stuff, more food, stuff, redheads, and stuff.  Oh, and there will be some extreme accomplishments and heroism.

No, seriously.  Just wait.  I promise that you will be in awe by the end of this thing.

    I’m going to bring it.

    So here we go.

    Day 1: Tuesday, June 11.

DW was womanning the camera here.  Apparently she felt is was important to get the dash for contrast.

That RV did not get the memo about getting over to the right lanes.  They ended up pulling in to the Fort after us.  Though they ended up beating us at check in.  More on that in a minute.

    Bam.

I’ve often wondered what would happen if I didn’t stop at the “guard” and just drove up to the check in.  Don’t think I’ll ever find out, but I’m curious nonetheless.

    More with the dash.

See how it isn’t that crowded?  We should get through quickly, right?

    Looks can be deceiving.

We the RV on the right ended up pulling into a newly opened lane.  So we pulled in next to the building thing in the middle.

    And sat there.

    For 40 minutes.

People who showed up way after us breezed through.

We were stuck, because there was someone behind me so I couldn’t move.

    Awesome.

    It was ridiculous.

So ridiculous, that when we finally got up to the gate the CM commented on how easy our check in was compared to the last one.

So he waived the pet fee for our stay.

    Bam!

I should take this moment to mention that we had a couple days of financial winning.  The night before we left I found a check from our mortgage company for over $400.  Turns out it was a refund for something.  It was good for 180 days.  It was day 120.

    Bam!

Not sure how I ever missed that in the first place, but I learned to read through my mail more carefully!

We had booked a full hookup and requested 1800.  We ended up getting 1832...the site across from where we were at Thanksgiving.

Here is what our Thanksgiving site looked like when we pulled in this time:

Lots of water.  Back at Thanksgiving our friends had a tent set up right where all that water is now.

Luckily our site was high and dry.  I never did take a pic of it.  I’m dumb.

We got started setting up (much easier without the girls), but had to stop because the rain came in.  It poured hard for awhile, but luckily the first thing I did was put out the awning because I was afraid the rain would start.  It finally let up so we headed out on a recon looping mission.

Here are a few sights from our first outing:

I call this, squirrel in a golf cart.

I call this, no idea what’s going on.

Whatever it was, they were definitely not afraid.

This is looking down towards the pool:

These poles were not there the last time we were at the Fort (Thanksgiving).  Frankly, I’m glad they are there, because they help keep the dummies from driving their cars down there.  Later that night I saw someone who tried to do just that, and then was trying to turn around.

    doh.

We grilled in the light rain, and enjoyed our new fake grass carpet thing that we got for Christmas.

It’s good because it covers up sand.

I hate sand.  I have declared war on sand.  I also got a new electric blower to help me in my crusade against sand.  I will win.

I got smart and brought a grill with us this time.

Enough of those ridiculous, flat bottomed Fort grills.  If the air can’t circulate below the coals, you’re never going to have a good fire.  Plus, people put gross things on those grills.  I am now officially anti-Fort grills.

See the rain in our lake?

A bonus for our new fake grass carpet thing?

It makes cool footprints in the rain.

If there are more than one footprint, why wouldn’t you just say feetprint?  Not sure, but for some reason the grammar police won’t allow it.

    Weird.

We’ll take a short break here.  After dinner we were heading to the Wilderness Lodge to have drinks and dessert in Territory Lounge.

    Bam.

Let me start first start this comment with something that actually relates to the TR at hand...
I still can't understand why Michael Strahan is hosting a morning talk show with Kelly Ripa.
    WTF?
Regardless, I'm interested to find out how the taping went.
I'm also interested to hear that the cinnamon roll at Gaston's was luke warm. So I guess us "screwing up" and getting one on Mainstreet last time wasn't that bad of a screw up after all.
Now, on to the comments not related in any way to this TR:
I guess you have a point. Consider the rep won back.
Now, if you ever have any extra tickets...

Oh snap. I got called out in the first sentence of this TR.
At least this time it is clear and evident that this is, in fact, an actual trip report.
    Therefore I'm officially in.
    I'm impressed.

    You're busted.
You took these pics going home, because you're heading north.
    I'll forgive you.

    Still Day 7:
    Still last day.
    Still sad.
So, after Snow White, it was time to leave. We went back to the bus stop hoping to luck out with the new bus again, but we weren’t so lucky.
When we got back to the Fort and went to our GC, we realized something about the parking lot looked different.
    Then it hit me:
    there was no way out.
    How could that be?
I could see the entrance to the parking lot.
But where was the way out?
    It was gone.
How could this be? Was this some kind of sick joke?
We had parked along the fence, facing the front. The only way I could see out was backing all the way down the row.
After some investigation I realized it was not a sick joke.
    It was a DUMB person.

The cart to the left of the red cart had decided to park DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PATH OUT.
    aslg aposjdfnlasjfbnoaiusgflkajwsfnlajhrfoi4uwtyq9p384uhfapr?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!
    WHAT THE FORT?!?
What kind of LAZY, INCONSIDERATE, SELF-CENTERED person parks right in the middle of things so that no one else can drive out?
Oh, the kind of person who thinks the world revolves around them. The same kind of person who stops in the middle of the grocery store aisle to have a conversation with someone, blocking the aisle for everyone else. The same kind of person who pulls out in front of a car going 60mph, only to go 45. The same kind of person who cuts in line for a bus or the ferry because they didn’t bother to see where the end of the line was.
I'm sure this was what went through their head: "hey self, the parking lot seems to be full. I wonder what I should do? I know, I'll put it right in the middle of things so that I'm close to the buses. That way I don't have to walk any extra distance to get to the bus stop. Wait, are those golf carts back on the grass by the entrance? I wonder why they parked way out there when they could have just parked right in the middle of things like me. Weird."
    Here is another angle:

And look at all their pinwheels all over the cart.
    Really?
You can decorate your cart, but you can’t figure out how to park it?
I was getting madder by the second. My wife tried to tell me to just back out and be done with it.
    Oh no.
That would not be happening today.
My initial plan was to move their cart all the way to the entrance of the GC parking lot.
    I would show them.
Once I started pushing, I realized I was not going to put that much effort into it.
So I pushed it far enough out of the way to clear a path, then went on our way.
    Ridiculous.
After I had a few drinks and calmed down, it was time for the campfire.
    We love the campfire.
    The girls love it.
In fact, they specifically requested staying for the movie since this was our last night.
It was to be “Tangled,” and that’s one of their favs.
It was friggin freezing that night, so we took our blankets and were prepared to tough it out.
I have never seen the campfire so crowded. There were people everywhere. Luckily we got there in time to snag one of the last benches available.
When it was sing-a-long time, we were disappointed to see that Cowboy Mark had the night off. I have grown to like his style.
    Instead we had Chuckwagon Bill.

    More like Jackwagon Bill.
Okay, that was harsh. He wasn’t a Jackwagon. He just wasn’t Mark.
What I didn’t like was that Bill thought it was necessary to talk the whole time.
    Umm...Sing-a-long?
He literally talked more than he sang.
    And he chose dumb songs.
Songs that either were difficult to sing, or that no one knew the words to.
    Umm...Sing-a-long?
How I am supposed to sing-a-long with songs I don’t know the words to?
And he didn’t even do the dance stuff up front that my girls really like.
So far this campfire was not going as we had hoped.
    At least Dale came by:

Luckily, the movie was coming up and there was no way they could screw that up.
You probably thought think that I’m going to say that the movie wouldn’t play, or the sound wasn’t right, or that people wouldn’t stop talking.
    Right?
    Well, I’m not.
    It was great.
    Cold, but great.

In fact, the girls said later that cuddling up watching the movie was their favorite part of the trip.
    Team CKCK winning.
The next morning we loaded up and were out by 10:00.
    And that’s it.
    Thanks for reading along.
I appreciate everyone’s comments (except for Lou’s, but since he wasn’t actually reading it’s okay).

    Day 3: Monday
Okay sportsfans, here we go. Last day of the trip before we pull out in the am.
That means we have a lot to accomplish.
    Namely, more F&W.
We hit Epcot for rope drop, or at least close to it. I’m not sure what we did, but I can guess it was Soarin’, Nemo, etc.
    Then it was food time.
    Here we go:
Hawaii (not a country, but we’ll go with it)

Pork slider somethingorother. Can’t remember it, but it was good I think.
    Desserts:

Who doesn’t love desserts? All good.
    Canada:

Filet. Really good, but not enough of it.

    More sausage, also from Canada.

Ice Wine. Tasted like apple juice, except wine. Too expensive and not worth it.

Cheese soup stuff. Not bad, but didn’t live up to the hype.
    Greece:

Cheese. With pistachios on it. And stuff. Pretty frickin good.
    Japan:

    Beef somethingorother and chicken sushi.
Beef was fine...not as good as the China steamed bun thing.
    It’s official. I still don’t like sushi...even if it’s chicken.
    Good ol U S of A:

Beer flight. Bunch of Sam Adams stuff, including chocolate beer.
Here’s the problem. It was hot. Frickin hot. We were tired, and pushing a stroller each. So we couldn’t walk and drink.
    We had no food.
So here we are, trying to drink this beer quickly so the girls didn’t fry sitting in the heat. And it's hard to feel like a good parent while you're making your kids sit there and wait on you to finish your beer.
We finished the beer, but didn’t really get to enjoy it.
    Germany:

Macaroni and cheese stuff, apple strudel, and more sausage.
This is the sausage I especially have a problem with. How are you going to give me this giant sausage with this tiny pretzel roll? Booo!
    Mexico:

Taco something. Pretty good. Obviously forgot the picture until the last minute.

Has anyone ever seen these growing outside Mexico? They’re peppers. I thought they were super cool used as “flowers.”
    Australia:

    Lambington.
    or
    Lamington.
    I’ve seen it both ways.
Oddly enough, it does not contain lamb.
In fact, it’s basically just coconut cake.
Which I like, but big deal.
And that’s it for Food and Wine.
    But not food.
Because after a nice relaxing afternoon, we did this:

Some of you know what I’m talking about.
    It starts with a G.
    And ends with a G.
With an A in the middle.
While we were waiting, we got some pics:

And finally, what you’ve been waiting on.
Possibly the best picture of a GAG...ever.
    At least in my opinion.

After dinner we headed back to the MK, so we have just one more installment of this TR left!

    Okay, still on day 2.
During naps and resting (the reds resting, me napping), my wife headed out to run.
This is a new thing we do.
    Running.
    Weird.
I actually have not yet run at the Fort. I have meant to, but...
    Lazy.
    Regardless, my wife went running.
She had been wanting to hit the path to the Lodge, so she went that way and meandered (great word, isn’t it?) around and encounted some wild, ferocious, rabid animals:

Okay, maybe not ferocious or rabid, but definitely wild.
Okay, who are we kidding? Hardly wild.
I’m not sure where this was:

But hello? What’s up with that?
Maybe it was left on too long like the dock lights and it exploded in a huge ball of flames.
    Doubt it.
I know this has already been shown in other TR’s, but here’s my take:

On our following trip for Thanksgiving we were on this loop (1800). I was not amused.
I did hear that this is a CM, or maybe the site next door. Not sure. I do know that the site next door has bird cages.
    Weird.
We love going to the stables, and are still mad that we didn’t even know about them for our first two trips to the Fort.
This horse was rocking out the Mickey butt:

Raise your hand if you have a similar butt...
I did not raise my hand.
While there we first noticed this:

Most of you will remember that this used to be here:

This has probably all been discussed on here in my absence, but just indulge me for a moment.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving, and a totally different wagon showed up in there. I don’t have a pic of that one. It was still cool, but just an ornate wagon. I think it’s in one of the pictures across the stables.
I was confused. Back on a previous TR there was a discussion about the Calliope and how it used to be used in MK parades and the history of it and so forth. I had hoped they would some day use it again, but the word on the streets was that it wasn’t moving until they built the new stables.
Well, all of a sudden it was gone! We heard a CM mention that it had been sent off for refurbishment.
    Score!
So all was well in the world of calliopes.
I didn’t think about it again.
Until I was watching the Orlando Citrus Parade on January 1...just hours before the Dawgs made a final statement that they should have been in the frickin Sugar Bowl and not florida !!!!!!! (Sorry TCD).
Regardless, as I’m watching the parade (before the Redcoat Band got DRENCHED in the rain), I saw this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3lHfrG3JOs&list=PLp6B40WLRxL5aH5WiI-qArU1j41yAd3Mf
Now obviously the camerman did not know what this was and focused more on some mouse instead of the calliope.
But how cool is that? The calliope in its full glory! It's hard to tell whether or not it's playing under its own power. I hope it is, but have a feeling it is not. Either way, I was glad to see it in action again.
After that, we hit the playgrounds once more:

And that’s all of day 2. Not sure what we did that night. I think we may have gone back to the MK bagless, which is why there are no pics.
All I do know is that the next day we visited Epcot for F&W lunch! Lots of food pics coming up, including possibly the best pic of a GAG EVER (and it doesn’t even include a beer in the pic)!!!!!!!

This is my 4th WDW TR.
The trip took place in October.
    It is now January.
Hence the, “I’m a Lazy Bum.”
In my defense, I have been absent from FF for awhile.
Not because I got mad, or lost interest, or didn’t care.
Because the fall got super busy, my computer had stupid problems, my internet sucked, and I just didn’t have the motivation to work on any TRs and deal with those problems.
I now have a new computer, new internet, and the motivation...so here we go!
Due to the fact this trip was a long time ago, we will revert to the “Photos & Thoughts” format. It will also be a pretty quick TR because it was only three nights. Consider this a warm-up TR, because I also have a Thanksgiving report that needs writing!
Since I have missed a lot of TRs lately, I may mention some things that were already mentioned. If that’s the case, please humor me and pretend I’m a genius who has uncovered some AMAZING things.
    Day 1: Saturday, October 13.
We arrived at our customary 1:00ish and were assigned to the 1100 loop. Don’t remember what site number, nor do I have a picture, but it backed up to the cabins. Did not like that, but luckily those cabins were empty so it wasn’t an issue.

While I set up camp, DW took DD4 to...
    hoity toity tea.

Some of you are familiar with my stance on hoity toity tea. For those of you who are not, here is my stance:
    I’m not for it.
HOWEVER, how can I be against it with DD4 having that kind of a time there?!? I’m torn now. I guess as long as I don't have to be there, I'm okay with it as long as we get pictures like those out of it.

After tea they jumped into the MK and found that new Fantasyland was having a soft opening (which they basically did every day...don’t know why they didn’t just consider it open, but whatever). Not everything was open, but they did hit some key things that we would revisit on our next trip in.
While they were out, DD2 and I did some looping and hit the playgrounds.

Something tells me that car did not pull that popup. If it did, then their priorities are a little conflicting.

Some of you may have seen this, and it may also have already been discussed around here. But we’ll go ahead and just say WTF?

I’m all for climate controlled golf carts after last February when it was frickin freezing. But this thing is just ridiculous.
And this is not a “golf style cart.”

    Come on people, stop sucking.
That evening we headed over to Epcot for our Food and Wine dinner. This was the main reason we came down at this time, so we were super excited.
On the bus pulling in to Epcot I saw this:

I’m not trying to make a political statement here. I just thought it was super cool that there was an actual, real-life sky writer. How cool is that?
Okay, so we get in Epcot for our Food and Wine dinner. Last year we were there during this time, and LOVED it. The crowds were light and we had a great time. We were really looking forward to the same thing this year.
    Fail.
We never considered the fact that we were here on Saturday night. SOOOOOooooo crowded. Drunk people. With t-shirts and sharpies checking off the countries they had gotten drinks in.
I must be getting old, but this was not what I had in mind. Especially with the two reds in the strollers.
Regardless, we did manage to get some food and drinks. At this point I don’t remember what everything is, but some was good, some not so much. I’ll do my best to remember.
    Italy:

Ravioli and sausage. The ravioli was AWESOME. I didn’t expect it to be, but we all really liked it. The sausage was just okay. Plus, I just have problems with things that look like big sausages...

Italian Margarita. I can’t say anything bad about it, because after all, it was a margarita. But...it was just a margarita.
    South Africa (I think):

Beef something. Don’t really remember. I don’t think I liked the spices with it and in the orange stuff, but the beef was okay.

Cheese spinach hot pocket thing. Forgetable.

    Water.
    China:

Mongolian Beef and Pork Pot stickers.
Frickin awesome. Both things were. Would definitely get those again.
After this, we were tired of drunk people and tired in general. While we were still hungry, it was time to get out of dodge and back to the Fort. So we left and decided we would come back on Monday for lunch.
That’s it for day one. Day two will bring the MK, a scantily clad woman, and some other stuff.

OK- if you insist. The Mich./ND winner each year can play the SEC Champion. It will give the SEC Champion a nice, easy game to end the season and let the Freshmen and benchwarmers get a chance to play at the end of the year.

8 is better than 4. So I like your plan. Most of it, anyway.
But I like the conference championship games.
The problem is that there is no way to come up with a fair tournament without really extending the season.
I think that we could save everyone a lot of anguish and just call the SEC champions the National Champions every year.

I catch an extremist lime green freak taking picks of my younglings and we are gonna go a few rounds.......I'm not too proud to admit it either. :kickinass: Afterwards I will celebrate by parading my FF sign around on a golf cart and stopping to hand out FF cards to any current Vold-anian/normal human being that has the sense to not sneak around taking pics of kids ; generally acting like a pedophile. Damn, I never knew about this before now, but I guarantee Pam handled it in a much more adult manner than I would have......so I guess good for her. Apparently it was an isolated incident so here's hoping it does not happen to any more fiends.
