This is for my stepson,s beloved Sheela. She was a true hero. Friday night we lost her to a home fire. Thank you Sheela for waking Sean up in time to get out of the house. You will always be our hero.

Ok, my kids are all grown but I have to say, I am so proud of my son. He will be closing on a house Friday! Congrats to Scott, a first time home buyer!!

Hey gang - I'm going to start regularly putting up anything that would be considered Fort or general WDW "News" on the Info side of the site.  This will be generally be info that's been officially confirmed by "the big cheese" himself (pun totally intended), but if anyone gets some good information to share from a reliable source, please pass it along.
 
It's perfectly fine to continue to share this stuff here in the forums, and if people don't mind, I may cherry pick some of what you all share to put together Info pages from time to time (if anyone would rather I not do that, please let me know). 
 
The advantage to creating Info pages on the website side of things is that they won't get buried amongst 3+ pages of new threads every day.  That should make them easier to find for all of us, including new people coming in, easier to go back and find down the road, and should also help give us a boost in the search rankings.
 
They'll also be at least a little protected from getting lost amongst the hijacking - although there's always the comments section at the bottom!  
 
You'll be able to find the News articles by just going to the MAIN INFO PAGE, where the latest articles will appear below the 3 that are currently pinned, or by going to the News section directly here...

But her Tortured Tangled Heart was Not Ready To Make Nice so she called The Fireman
They went in search of Ten Rounds of Jose Curevo and some Cherry Pie
Before joining everyone on the dance floor to Get Jiggy Wit It.
When the Sun Goes Down the next day Cleopatra, Queen of Denial got upset because Bubba Shot the Jukebox...again.
She decided to follow him to the Shriner's Convention with some Gun Powder and Lead.
When she arrived he gave her the Shake and a Wink but she told him she would be "Right Here Waiting for you"
He told her It's Tricky and, in order to escape, started the Mississippi Squirrel Revival.
He did the Watermelon Crawl out the back door while the revival got people in touch with Heaven.
This left her thinking "Did I Shave My Legs for this?" She wanted to be All Cried Out but Sometimes She Cries as The Cowboy Rides Away.
Meanwhile Ahab, the Arab decided to do The Streak while Down In Mississippi while hanging with his Friends in Low Places.
He told them "If you can't be good, be good at it" then went in search of some Chicken Fried while screaming Mi Vida Loca.
Mr. Policeman showed up and told him he was Wanted Dead or Alive but he continued Livin on A Prayer
As he was being hauled away to the Sin Wagon he told the Trashy Women to "Call Me Maybe"
John Deere Green was worrying about his girl Fallin and the Landslide of Letting Her Cry
when realized he had No Scrubs on and thinking he wouldn't know what to do "When My Time Comes" to Push it to the Wild Wild West show.
When his Baby Got Back and said "I'd Do Anything For Love" he asked her would Jesus Wear A Rolex then dumped her in the Heartland.
She had wanted to Never Say Goodbye but realized love was Wild as The Wind so she looked into her Reflection and decided it's My Life and he was a Long Time Gone. She took the rest of her 18 and Life and Let'r Rip.
The next morning a text message that said, "I'm Gonna Hire a Wino" was dispatched to the Troubador.
He's been out the night before with the Youth Gone Wild, just Ready To Run the first time anyone said the code words "I Melt With You"
He remembered Strokin the guitar and promising to Let Her Cry but he couldn't figure out why there is a Pontoon Boat with the name Crocodile Rock tattooed on his lower back.
He rolled over to see a girl there and grimaced as he said "It's me again, Margret"
Margret turned to him With Open Arms and swore "I cross my Heart".
Then she proclamed "I'm So Excited and I wander when the baby is due"
And lastly one for the husbands soon to be left behind-
When a women departs for Wild Womenz Weekend, She Leave You With A Smile
Don't try ask her to "Hold My Hand" or Stay behind, she can't.
But not to worry she will be Faithful
Bear with her when she returns and dont' ask her questions when she says, "What Was I Thinking".
She has Lived Those Songs Live and MPR had been invoked and There's Your Trouble with finding the answer.

I'll just add that for those of you that might be shy about meeting up with the Fiends in person, please don't be!
I know it's one thing to "meet" people online vs in person, but this really is the most welcoming group of people. We showed up at Halloween a year ago, having only met a couple of people the year before, and dove head first into the middle of a whopper of a GG. Fiends greet you like you're their long lost friend and it never felt weird to be hugged by a perfect stranger... or hugging the ones that say they're not huggers.
Since then we've been fortunate enough to spend time with more and more Fiends, including a wonderful Thanksgiving gathering this past year. We only wish we lived closer to see people more often. (even you, Lou!)
All you need to fit into a Fiend GG is the ability to enjoy eating (all Fiend gatherings - large or small - are marked by ridiculous amounts of delicious food), drinking (beverage of your choice-although there's usually something around that will knock you on your hiney if you're not careful) and laughing until your sides hurt.
If I've learned nothing else from Bob it's that ALL ARE WELCOME... just bring a chair! :heartsmiley:

I am putting this on the public forum, because maybe some of the lurkers out there will realize how great Fiends are and come out of hiding and meet some of us.
As you all know Jason is there for a few days, Carol loaned him her tenting equipment, I had agreed to go up tomorrow and pick it up from him, because I am going to see Carol on WWW. Well Rich and I still haven't gotten over The Crud from New Years yet.
So I called on another Fiend to help me out bord1niowa....Curt, I asked him to do a really big favor for me (I also thought he was still at the Fort, but he had left already). I explained what Rich and I were supposed to do on Sunday and asked if he could pick up the equipment from Jason for us. There wasn't even a stop and he just said we will work it out.
I can't tell you how much that helps us.
I thank my lucky stars every day that there are Fiends out there, I know I can't count on. I just hope I am as good a Fiend to them if they need my help.

That's great, Lorna. I could give several examples to add to this list that would demonstrate the community that has developed here. And in case any lurkers or newbies think this is a "closed group" that is tight knit and wouldn't open their arms to them...I can tell you there are Fiends created every day, some that dive right in and sit around at grand gatherings laughing it up seated next to someone who's been around forever. There are a handful of Fiends that were at those early gatherings at the Fort, but most of us were not and are still members of the community, which is more like a family to me. And still other Fiends have not had the opportunity to meet any other Fiends at all in person, but they are still members of the community too by participating on the boards. Whether or not someone considers themselves a Fiend is up to them. There's no membership fee, no application, no tests or initiation. Just a desire to be part of a great group of people.
