  1. I always put a Y on the line going to the trailer and add a short piece of clean, non dookie use hose.
  2. I believe they have backflow preventers on them and use the same supply as the water you hook to your camper, having said that, I use the green hose to wash things outside and keep the pad clean as well as rinse the slinky hose when we leave.
  3. Good point Mike. I will say that just because someone says that a truck can handle a certain weight, that doesnt take into account the "profile" of what you are towing. A load that is only cab high on a short small trailer will not tow like a 5er. I have hauled weight similar to my old travel trailer with my 1/2 tons and the difference is night and day without the huge profile of the trailer. All of the manufacturers are playing one upmanship with towing capacities and in my opinion are putting people into trucks that they will ultimately beat into the ground if they tow a lot. It always pay
  4. If you want to find the truth in any circumstance..... FOLLOW THE MONEY.
  5. I found my paternal Grandfathers great Uncles Confederate service record through the archives. It was a long shot but it was definitely him. My Dads older brother had done a bunch of geneaology work before he passed away so I was able to add to his work, it was a gratifying experience all the way around. After studying the war for many years its very profound to have a link to several Confederates, I have walked quite a few battlefields and am moved every time.
  6. We have Christmas ressies this year but will most likely cancel them, the ever increasing price of the site along with fuel and some disappointing problems last year all add up to staying home. Unless something turns around in the next year I predict our streak of at least one trip a year will be shattered.
  7. Didnt we used to fight wars against communists ? just asking ?
  8. Like most others businesses that sell to China, they will only sell one, after that the knock off copies will come rolling out. The Chinese are notorious for ignoring patent and trademark laws, cant wait to see how they rip off Disney on this one.
  9. If you are looking for a capable tow vehicle that gets good mileage you are looking for a unicorn, they are mutually exclusive. Depending on what you are towing you may or may not get away with a 1/2 ton and you have to heavily consider the wheelbase as well as the powertrain. Just because a vehicle CAN tow a certain limit does not mean it can tow it WELL in a travel trailer profile. As an example, my 2003 Avalanche 1/2 ton struggled with our old 6400# 27ft trailer, it was within limits and did an OK job but it struggled on hills and would not pull in overdrive. I towed a car trailer loaded do
  10. HDDR is inside and not subject to weather extremes, food is good at all of them. Backyard BBQ was more like a company picnic and too crowded for any interaction with the characters and I dont dance. Having said that, I would do any of the them again in a heartbeat !
  11. We have stayed there several times on the way home from WDW, it is the half way point between Fort wilderness and home. We sneak in late at night and find a spot and just setup with only electric. In the AM we go to the office and pay. Seems like a quiet little park, they look like they have some folks that are there longer term but it was nice enough.
  12. some of the best mileage I have ever gotten has been with Hess fuel, my truck doesnt like Loves.
  13. I think that the Fort needs an "HOV" type lane around the campground just for carts :D
  14. check this out, more general RTS info if you go back to home page, this section is for Disney. http://www.rtsbusworld.com/disney.html
  15. thats what leads me to suspect it was repowered and probably regeared.
  16. If memory serves, the WDW RTS buses have the bigger engines. I believe they look like the one in the photos. I'll have to check. I thought I heard that they were the 6V70 which would be the V6, 70 cubic inch per cylinder. We have a couple of the 6V92 and an 8V92, they pull like crazy but they are thirsty and smoke.
  17. Curious if that the original powerplant. I never saw any data but I was under the impression that most of the RTS busses had the 6V70 (or smaller) 2 stroke Detroits, thats a fairly large 8V in that one.
  18. I like beer, I put it in my belly and mix it with everything
  19. Koegel's Viennas best hotdogs in the world :'( I love me some Koegels skinless frankfurters, boiled with mustard, ketchup and relish. I also like their garlic ring bologna with hard cheddar on a ritz !
  20. I think Walt said it would never be done.
  21. You mean the best people dont always get the job because of brown nosers ? say it aint so ! sounds much like the rest of America. this sounds like another peek behind the curtain !
