  1. Well, we will be there that week and will keep you posted. I think we have fastpasses booked for AK later in the week.
  2. I can see re-doing the rooms and lobby, the hotel is approaching 30 years old and could use a facelift. That being said, the look in that hotel is pretty timeless, and anything they would want to do to 'update' it would undoubtedly make it more contemporary in design. Chapek must have a real bug in his craw about the Four Seasons, as it's not a big stretch to see the link between 'improving mousekeeping' and 'let's update our own cash cow high end resort to keep up with the Jones's'. I'm assuming he's the one that has given his underlings carte blanche to institute all of these high-end (
  3. And, on a related note, the ticketed 'extra magic hours' seem to be a ghost town, according to friends that went (and were given free passes, btw). That's a total money loser for WDW.
  4. It wasn't really noticed until after the Christmas parade stopped running. Now it's absence is glaringly obvious.
  5. Starting a new thread for this. This popped up in my twitter feed last night: Honestly, I think this should be a thing. Everyone should ask cast members what time the night time parade is going to start. Now that MSEP is live in Disneyland, how long before the powers that be notice a huge decline in evening/night time numbers due to a lack of parade? I don't think a projection show or a new fireworks show is going to solve that loss. And, frankly, it shouldn't be Paint the Night, either (although that is an amazing show in and of itself). One would think that Disney ha
  6. I believe SSE is still 'sponsored', so I'm not sure it that played into this blogger's thoughts. No disrespect, but it's past time to get rid of the graveyard in front of it, though.
  7. My point about the Odyssey is that if they use the old wonders of life as a festival pavilion as well, they will basically be sticking the festival stuff in among three 'thrill' rides. Kinda sucky if you ask me. Use the odyssey as a festival home base (yes, mo they served craft beer there) and turn the old WOL paviliion into something else.
  8. http://www.instantlydelicious.com/blog/corn-and-potato-chowder This recipe is a hit with the fam.
  9. God, that article was long. And no mention of the Odyssey. That's a waste of space in a prime fireworks viewing location.
  10. It would be nice if Disney, some of whose employees we know lurk here, would take action on some of this stuff that comes up repeatedly.
  11. They need more room to build the new tent city. In all seriousness, I'd like to see them do a cars overlay, or perhaps make them electric cars instead of the crappy 2 stroke motors that don't work that they have now.
  12. Again, just a bit of caution regarding fees for package handling at the front desk. I know that Garden Grocer does not incur a fee (per the rep from GG I spoke with the other day), don't know if other companies (I'm looking at you, Amazon) do incur a per-package charge.
  13. We use garden grocer when we stay there, and have had great service from them each time. It does cost a bit more, but unless you have a car and can run to Publix or Winn-Dixie it's a cheaper option than the on-site grocery. They also have an app and will let you modify your order up to (I think) 48 hours before your scheduled delivery date. Honestly, the fort has very limited on-site dining options - basically Trail's end/crockett's tavern/P&J's takeout and the pool snack bar. Some people here swear by Trail's End, but we aren't buffet people and they have just discontinued the sit-do
  14. They also have a travel version, which we got for Xmas but have not played yet. I'll keep you posted after our next trip.
  15. I scored a reservation in the Queen Victoria room at V&A's for our anniversary dinner this year. Gotta say I'm a bit intimidated by the menu (and the price!), but to have dinner in the #2 restaurant in the US isn't too shabby. Otherwise I'd go Artist Point, personally, or perhaps the chef's table at Flying Fish if they still do that.
  16. For a day or two, I agree with Beckers, but for long term it's well worth the slight inconvenience of going with an outside vendor like Tee Time.
  17. If you listen closely, in the background you can hear the sound of a cash register when it activates.
  18. Worth the splurge? #2 restaurant in the country on TripAdvisor, AAA 5 diamonds...
  19. Any official information on why the shark reef attraction closed? Or is that area becoming part of the new ride?
  20. That was our trip at the Boardwalk in 2015. I'd swear they were filming a prono next door, even after I banged on the wall a few times.
  21. Yup. We stayed until the end of the credits, figuring that would be resolved, but nope. Weird.
