I agree Kieth, you get more education in college in dorms dealing with other people than you do in a class room. I had a professor once tell me the education you get in college is to learn where to get the answers you need, what you learn in class will be mostly forgotten or out of date in just a few years.

Bet it would take a pretty stiff breeze to blow that off his head.
They wear hats with beads hanging on them to keep biting flies off in back country in Australia, might work for yellow flies and mosquitoes.

I remember those days, there was not any shortage of gas, I bought gas everyday in my work truck and never saw a station that had no gas, the bulk plants were even filling up the tanks at closed station because they did not have enough storage capacity in their yards. It was just a reason to raise the price per gallon. There was a closed station across the street from my in laws and we would watch the tankers come in late at night to drop off fuel and when they claimed the shortage was over and the price went up they came and pumped it back out.

There are a lot of Snowbird parks around here, usually a retired person buys a park model trailer and rents the lot for a yearly rate. They pay their own utilities and some live in them year around. It is real convenient, no yard work or worries about the property. Also not as much worry about break in because they are close together and everyone looks out for their neighbors. I have several in my SS class that have second homes like this and come down every winter to live here where it is warmer. Most parks have organized thing to do, rec centers, etc, and some are even on golf courses if that is an interest.

Every station around here, south of Lakeland has fuel, haven't heard of any shortage from any one.

I have a question, did not get to Fort Wilderness for Halloween last year, Doctor would not let me out of intensive care to go for some reason, but have a reservation for this year, how does T or T work, do we have a central site for fiends to gather and pass out treats or do we each pass out treats at individual sites. I have a partial site, will it be crowded with kids from outside or will partial sites be some what less active. How much candy should I bring.

My $.02. I don't usually travel interstates, I like back roads if possible and find that in most smaller towns, you can ask the local police men and they will usually direct you to a save place to sleep and come by and check on you a few times in the night. Also most any closed business will not object to parking in their lot if you are out before they open. Don't think I would try this in a large city, but just feel safer in a small town. I even have stopped in a closed bar very later to get some sleep knowing they would not be open until late the next day and several times in a strip mall parking lot. Just made sure I was out of there well before opening time. Never had any problem with law enforcement, but have had a parking lot sweeper wake us up a few times. Most people would rather you stop and sleep rather than driving tired and causing a wreck. By the way if you are ever close by my home, I will let you park in front of my house and sleep.

I have a question, not that it makes any difference to me, will not even consider a Ford Truck. They lost me when they went to the twin I-beam front end in mid 1960's and their engineering does not seem to have improved, consider the 2 piece spark plug they had. I have been a mechanic since high school both at dealerships and fleet mechanic so I am not complete uninformed. When you take an engine and increase power by turbocharging and blowers you can get a lot of power, check funny cars at drag races, however you have an engine that is not durable. All this to ask how long are these small engines pumped up by turbo charging going to hold up under a heavy load? Also how often will the turbos have to be replaced? I know I have replaced many on large trucks but they get a lot of miles.

Why would anyone want to go to Miami anyway, we try to stay aeay from that area if we can.
-
You need to remember, most 150 series truck buyers only use them as passenger vehicles and only ever now and haul a small load like some mulch or fertilizer a few times a year. If you are going to work one hard you will get a 250 or larger. Therefore the durability of the bed is not a big concern.

Locks are just for honest people anyway.

I see your point, although, walking door to door in a hotel is different than the Fort, but I guess it wouldn't be any different than if you lived in an apartment building.
Other resorts need to get in on the Halloween thing. If each hotel had there own party I wonder if crowds would deminish? Why is the Fort the only "cool" fun resort? Lol I guess we don't need to answer that because we all know campers are awesome.
I totally agree that a bigger deal is being made then what needs to be.
If they want to party at the Fort, they should get a site and camp at the Fort

If the hoards are paying resort guests, then they are free to enjoy the Fort as much as those strictly staying at the Fort, except the pool of course. Well unless you DVC.
I disagree, if they are staying at another resort, they should have their party there and not invade the Fort.

How can blocking the beach be the end of an era, lakes in Florida do not have sandy beaches as a rule. To have a sandy beach, you have to have wave action, most lakes have vegitation right down to the water and no beach. Let nature bring it back to normal, or just let grass grow and keep it mowed instead of sand.
-
I may be wrong, but if you can rent the beach for a private party, you should be able to rent a private campfire with chipmunks if you have enough money.
-
Also would depend on the soil, here where it is loose and sandy water soaks in fast and does not stand and make mud as bad as if the soil is packed and has a lot of clay so water is not absorbed as fast. My barn has a hand washing sink that dumps on ground and there is never any mud under it to notice.

I would not want to "chance" my vacation on whether Disney chooses to enforce the stated rules.
probably all they would do is make you pay for another site, that is what they did with us when we tried to put a camper and a pop up on same site
-
Maybe there is another fiend staying at the fort at the same time that could add a couple to there reservation.
-
Other than the magic band problem, I would just not say anything and not cause a problem and don't think Disney will say any thing. Have seen more than that number on a site more than once.

Enjoyed it as always. Waiting for the next one.
Are the playgrounds dangerous?

Play grounds are play grounds, could a kid get hurt, sure, but it is a part of growing up.You need to keep a eye on your kids and protect them as much as possible. There is not a Cast member stationed at the playgrounds.
