It was a spur of the moment trip. My days off are often broken up and we wanted to see if we could do it and we will be doing more overnight trips there so we should be able to have a meet soon. We will look forward to it

We have stayed at Cape San Blas many times. I also noticed that That Place On 98 is being remodeled or something.

You should look in to camping here.Sounds like its been awhile since you were there it has really grown in the past few years but the state park is still untouched.Apalachicola is also only about a 30 minute car ride away

My DW and I woke up last Saturday morning and decided to take a day trip to Apalachicola Fl.on the coast for a day at the beach and some good Florida Seafood! I suggested that we hitch up the camper and go to St. George Island State Park and see if they had any openings for the night. We packed a bag and a pick-nick basket hitched up and we were gone. We live an hour and a half from the Island witch is not a bad drive for a quick trip. We arrived around lunch time but we were not hungry because we always snack on road trips. We stayed at a Florida State Park several summers ago and saw one of the nastiest and funniest things ever. The park had a dump station and we decided to stop on the way out and drain the tanks.There were several rigs in front of us the first was a group of ladies that filmed there whole experience. Right behind them were two knuckle heads, they were driving a brand new shinny class A. They looked more like they should have been in the RV Cousin Eddie drove in Christmas Vacation.They get out barefooted and shirtless Did I Mention They Were Barefooted At The Dump Station! So they pull the hoses

Dont give up the camping gods are still smiling down on you! You are defiantly not alone in the backing up into $hit Club. Heck I worked full time for myself for ten years and probably backed over 10K worth of equipment I would forget to put back on the truck!!! I dont know how big your rig was but maybe it was just time to down size a bit. Good luck!

We were across from the Shamrocks about a year ago and they probably had 10 cars and trucks scattered about there sights. They were told to move them and they did. But then they started acquiring other campers bicycles to accommodate there transportation needs! I know they were not there bikes because when they left there was a huge pile of them left behind.

I wonder why they dont take there dogs home at the end of the day.Most agency's send the dog home with the handler. We have several friends in K-9 and the dog is a member of the family when its of duty

They should take the don't ask don't tell approach to the whole free dining plan and make it the responsibility of the guest to know what to do. This way at the time the bill is presented they will probably have extra items on the bill and pay part on the plan and part out of pocket.

I've heard the old rummer that someone high up looks down on us campers as riffraff and the scourge of the earth and the property we camp on is prime real estate and us people that sleep in trailers and on the ground are P.D.T. ( Poor Disney Trash).Oust us and put in a 5 star resort to complement Golden Oak! Thats what I think is in someones long term plans!

It seems that they have dumbed down the menus even at the table service restaurants since the inception of free dinning. I think there ought to be a separate menu for the guest on F/D that way us who are paying out of pocket can get the meal we want.

We stayed in the 2000 loop 3 years ago Memorial day weekend almost right across from these clowns! They were a P.I.T.A. and security did nothing about them. We watched the kids leave on foot and come back on bikes that were obviously borrowed from other guest because when they left there was a pile of 10- 15 bikes left behind.They left before the end of our stay I think due to extreme rain(it was the only time I have camped and been happy for rain). This why I would recommend even if your tent camping spend the extra money and get a preferred sight!
