  1. Thanks. I found a video from that presentation. Stan Lee shows up at about 6:50: TCD
  2. You're good. I thought you would be thrown off by the fact that I am vigilantly boycotting all Starbucks. I only went in there to take the photo. TCD
  3. So they want you to sell this but they won't pay you a commission? cheapskates. TCD
  4. I guess I need to tell my Stan Lee story. At the 2015 D23 Expo, we had waited in line for a long time for one of the presentations, only to be told at the last minute that they had miscalculated, and they could not seat us. To make it up to us, they promised us reserved seating at the next presentation. Sure enough, we were ushered in a side door for that one, and placed in a specific row at almost front and center. Several seats at the end of our row had reserved signs on them, and sat empty for the beginning of the presentation. I was seated right next to those seats. About
  5. Not a punch card, but there was a "deal" where they sold a lanyard with a card with break-off tabs that could be turned in for items at the booths. It was like the dining plan- there was a small potential for "savings" if you only used the tabs for the most expensive item at each booth. That "deal" was easier to see through than the dining plan, so it wasn't around long. TCD
  6. Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd just update this one. I don't know if y'all have seen it, but the frame of the show building for the new GOTG ride is up, and it's huge. I snapped these photos today. The old Universe of Energy building is stripped and gutted: What surprised me is how far away the new show building is from the old Universe of Energy building. The new building actually seems closer to the old Wonders of Life pavilion. Take a look at this photo- that's the corner of the new building closest to the old Universe of Energy building: That sur
  7. I cut it (pun intended) super close, but I just got my 4th Food and Wine visit in this morning, and was able to pick up my cutting board. good thing, too. Today is the last day of the Food and Wine Festival TCD
  8. Well done. I'm sad Ray didn't get it after working so hard. This mural is on the wall that your back is to when staring at the caramels: TCD
  9. D''oh. Colder. But you eliminated another pavilion! LOL. Thanks for finding that. Good times. TCD
  10. Based on past comments, I'll bet a lot of Fiends have seen that mural. But, it's not in Norway, and you are heading the wrong way around the World Showcase. TCD
  11. Great article Mo This jumped out at me: "We do not attempt any gag-like or gimmicky 3D effects that would call attention to the artifice of the projected world. The additional physical effects must be used judiciously or they become too ‘present’ and remind the rider that the experience is artificial." Boy do I wish that Joe Rohde would have been consulted by the imagineers who created the new Soarin' film. It is the antithesis of this, and it wrecked the attraction for me. TCD
  12. I said you were warm. It's not in the Italy pavilion. But you're still warm TCD
  13. Me? I thought that was you learning how to make cinnamon rolls. No. Wrong park. Cold. Right park. And you're warm. No. Wrong park. Cold. Right park, but you're cooler than Ray. TCD
  14. Thanks for reviving the thread! I'll guess the entry area at the Main Street train station. TCD
  15. DIT scooped you on this news: I think you have to buy a ticket to the dessert party on top of a MVMCP ticket before you can see Ben. TCD
  16. 800 is very popular with the weekend warriors. Because of the lack of comfort stations, 600 and 700 seem to have less small children. I would also consider 1100- its remoteness probably makes it less attractive to the wild crowd TCD
  17. Yes there was a new event at the Backyard BBQ last year. We discussed it on this thread: Last year, it was $95 for four hours which included a buffet and live music. This year it's $99 for 2 1/2 hours and AYCE cupcakes. Wow. TCD
  18. Wow. Add the two new Disney ships, and the port is going to be incredibly busy. TCD
  19. You can see this without buying a MVMCP ticket. They do it twice a night- at 6:10 pm for us poor people, and then they do it again later for the rich folk with party tickets. For what it's worth, this is not the first castle lighting performance of the season, the first was on Sunday. The TCD twins were there. TCD
  20. Doesn't Carnival have a bigger ship on the way? The DCL Blog had a podcast a few months back discussing some big changes being made at Port Caneveral, particularly in regard to fueling requirements. I don't recall the new RCCL ship requiring any port upgrades. TCD
  21. Dang it, I missed the exclusive booking window! I'll bet they're all sold out! TCD
