Wooden Musket Mickey Sign
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to RVinMomma's topic in Crafting: Camping and beyond
We got ours a couple days ago. Looks fabulous. -
Is there a complete listing of the current Disney Cable channels anywhere in this forum? Last Christmas when i was spending an inordinate amount of time in the MH while Judy basked in ease at Celebration Hospital, I meticulously made a list of all the channels and recording them in a note book. The plan was to transcribe them to a spreadsheet showing channel number, names, network affiliation, etc. Now the note book has disappeared. :gaah: I would hate for her to have to go back to Celebration just so I can complete the project. This reminds me of when I moved to Atlanta and had a lot o

We were told in April current passholders would be able to convert their cards "somewhere in EPCOT, near Mexico". When we were in the area we walked over to Mexico, but there was nothing concerning the conversion there, nor could any CM tell us where it was. (We did eat supper there, and it was pretty good.) On the way out, we passed a sign pointing out toward the netherlands, indicating we should go that way. We didn't since it was late. But we were also told by a CM (or vendor) near that sign we could return during normal business hours or wait until (I believe) late May, when we could

Trouble at the Fort
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to dsnylvr's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I understand the tree was rotted from the inside and either a 30 foot section or from 30 feet up, it just came down. -
dining plan or not
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to cypressaggie's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Is this some kind of fetish? I never tried that myself, but it might be a nice alternative meal. :rofl2: By the way, welcome to the madhouse. :welcome2: And we never get a dining plan. We eat most many meals at our MH and maybe one CS at whatever park we are in when we get hungry. -
How Late Have You Been At MK?
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to Lou...'s topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
We win! 9:30 p.m. on several occasions. Not to mention waiting at some parks past several busses for some cranky bus driver to let us on...yes, there is more than one cranky bus driver. We prefer top see the fireworks from a half empty boat on the way back to the Fort. -
Note that the cupcakes referred to above are the actual edible kind with lots of icing. :partythree: And we find it just as rewarding to watch one of our new little ones do something...find his/her feet, hold a finger. smile, etc. We get lots of rewards. :pope: Time line below does not reflect our actual travel plans as we will also be at the Fort next Saturday for a week.

I recall many years ago in Mobile I was adding a garage to my house. A friend and I were working on the roof framing. I was drinking a sugar-free drink and his was with sugar. Not a love bug touched my cup and his cup was covered with them. I also noticed the ends of all the boards we were using were covered by lovebugs.

Our Kimberly
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to Retired & Tired (Judy)'s topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
No video. Slacker husband was watching the 10 month old and one month old across the gym from the festivities. I guess the kids need a press agent to capture everything. -
Hi Ron. Welcome back. We haven't met in person, but maybe someday.... We'll be at the fort in April; and again in December.

Welcome To WDW 1970's/ 80's and 90's

Kinda scary if you travel with kids in wheelchairs. Hopefully they have improved the fire/heat detection by now. -
Grocery store options

I also look back fondly on yesterday's technology, but it was hard for smoke signals to read bar codes. :camp1: -
Grocery store options
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I don't particularly like the member cards, but if I am in a store that uses them, I'll take the discount. We carry CVS, Kroger, Ingles, and Winn-Dixie. Use Kroger and CVS extensively. We also get gas discounts through Kroger. -
Queen or 2 Twin airbeds
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to onadraw's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I agree with the twin raised mattresses. We have used queen and double over the years and still have one double that only leaks a little. We use a couple of twins to much greater advantage, but will probably get another double to supplement for guests. -
Grocery store options
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I usually get gas at the WalMart on 535 when I need it say for a rental car. When I leave going north, I stop at the T/A where the Turnpike rejoins I-75. For groceries we usually either go to Walmart or Winn-Dixie, depending on where we are. We have been known to pick up a few items at a Trading Post when we just needed some small item like a loaf of bread or a carton of ice cream. -
Why the golf carts?
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I guess "Cake" is ok as long as he doesn't turn out to be a "cupcake". CakeHenn, it's a long story that is described elsewhere in these writings. -
Why the golf carts?
Retired and Happy (Ken) replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We rented carts twice before buying our own. We use it at the Fort at least oce a year and at home around the yard or neighborhood. Our kids are special needs and wheelchair bound, so a cart make moving them around a lot easier. We still use the internal busses to reach the Outpost or Settlement to go to the Parks unless just one kid is with us. We go looping, runs to the Trading Posts, the Outpost for mail, laundries, boat watching, visiting, etc. But we are usually at the Fort for weeks and spend as much time at the Fort as we do at the Parks. Our (relative) visitors often borrow it to
