  1. It's mostly other stuff. Emphasis on "at", not "to". But he stops by anyway. :rofl3:
  2. I have bad news to share. Purex has ceased production of their 3-in-1 laundry sheets. They are now pushing a pod detergent, with no mention of softener or antistatic capability. :panic: We may never be able to do laundry again...while traveling.
  3. We've used our MiFi for two years with very few problems. Sometimes it drops the connection at the wrong time, but overall it's a nice device.
  4. Carol, What do you normally plug into? If it's the 30 A, you should be ok with a separate cord to the 15/20 amp post outlet for the dryer. If you normally plug into the 15/20 amp outlet, the dryer cord would need to be on a separate circuit. We always plug our rear A/c into the 15/20 outlet and plug Christmas lights into the other. I don't recall if the outlets are on separate breakers, or not., but we have never had a problem. Well, last year we popped the breaker a couple of times, but I think that was a defective breaker. And they had to replace the 30 A breaker whie we set up.
  5. Hey Dave, When you do your hunting and gathering in a Kroger, it is considered bad form not to clean up your poop. (Is that too far off topic???)
  6. We have thrown candy and small toys from the Christmas parade for years. i did not know they frowned on this practice. Where did you hear or read that? I know the crowd really likes it, even the adults.
  7. Surprisingly I read it that way too, Gwen. I assume it doesn't apply to RV that have a means of disposal intoa sewer or septic system. At least i don't plan to have my MH re-plumbed to separate the kitchen sink water. :dass:
  8. Boatms, Welcome to Fortfiends, and I hope you enjoy your time here. There is a lot of GOOD info about the Fort and WDW in general. There are also a lot of opinions given, mostly from years of experience at the Fort or camping etiquitte (or however it's spelled) that is meant to be informative. You will also see snarky answers after a good answer is given. These are usually meant as humor and are often used to change the subject of a thread. I agree with a PP that some rules are not found in writing or in phone calls, and some that are are not uniformly enforced. Case in point, wheels
  9. Our first stay at WDW was in the 1500 loop. We had an 18 1/2 foot (including bumpers) Class C ElDorado MH. I guess we stayed a week, but that was in the mid 70's and who can remember back that far. There was MK, but was there EPCOT? Summertime, hot but we were at WDW. Gotta love it.
  10. I've never had a problem while traveling, but times are changing. We tend to travel in daylight and stop at well attended gas stations and shopping centers when necessary. Never stayed overnight at a WalMart, Cracker Barrel, or Flying J, and would not feel safe getting out late at night at either of them...rest areas too. Any are ok in the day time, but after dark, anythign could happen. Caution travels with me.
  11. How about Lee and Richard Petty, Fireball Roberts, and Junior Johnson? By the way, when I was gainfully employed by the Corps of Engineers, I worked in Hydropower doing communications systems throughout the Southeast. Allatoona, Buford (Lanier), and Carters' Lakes were in my jurisdiction. Never camped at either one.
  12. This seems to either be :techno: or has something to do with :oregonian_winesmiley: .
  13. I found an inexpensive color changing bulb at Home Depot a couple weeks ago. Looks like a small incandescent bulb and screws into a standard socket. They have (I think) 11 LED's inside and can be set for any single color or fast or slow color changing. The switch is a tiny pushbutton located just below the globe, near the screw threads. Haven't seen mine at night, so i don't know how they will show up at a campsite. I put one in a ceiling fixture in the den and the kids loved it.
  14. Santa, Glad to see you back. We would love to meet you at the Fort some day. We do Christmas/New years there every year. Enjoy the new rig.
  15. I'd rather have a plague of lovebugs than the upcoming 17 year cycle of millions of cicadas. Does FL have a cicada infestation?
  16. Hey Jim, Does that green make the slides more slippery? Now everyone will want to go...if they can't get into 3000.
  17. I'm sure ALL the bus drivers do not hate you... yet. It will take several more trips for you to meet all of them. By then your statement may be accurate. But you can ignore the bus drivers. We do and just push to the front of the line demanding to be loaded first. That makes them really care about helping you. >:D
  18. That duck dinner might be ok if it's not the big one with the blue hat. :rofl3:
  19. Reckon these are really licensed products? Mickey is carrying a gun. Long live Musket Mickey!
  20. Welcome. 3000 is a non-existant super luxury loop that we would all love to book...if it were real. Anything you could want would be there. We don't have dogs, but have been put in pet loops on occasion. These loops have bag stations for cleanup and disposal of your dog's leavings. Other loops do not offer such amenities, but during crowded times, pets are sometimes put in ANY loop...alnog with their owners. Somewhere in these forums there is a listing of the loops and whether they are pet or not. We do use a golf cart and often see pets with their owners moving about. Premium sites h
  21. The tube to 3000 has to be underground to keep the beer at 38 degrees all the way from Colorado. :doublebeer:
  22. Nice jobs of reporting TCD, Chris, and Jen...as well as complimentary comments by others. Of course the Buckeyes had to grab Urban off the scrap heap to continue their game...(no disrespect, just SNARKY).. :wave1: I attended that wonderful University (one quarter as API, then it changed to AU) in the '60's with two of my brothers, and later my oldest DS and a couple of DN's were also there. All of us were in the band and one served as Drum Major. Most of us are out of state now and as such, tuition makes any more going there remote. Oh, and the one brother who did not go there due to poo
  23. It's been about three hours since the first report...waiting....waiting... :pc: Are YOU in Trolls? Where are you? We haven't been there in nearly a month...We need a Fort fix.
  24. We book for Christmas/New years at the first of every calendar year...or earlier. In-between trips we book as soon as we know when we want to go. We don't want to risk the Fort being closed to us. As far as planning, we are almost constantly planning, whether it be restocking the MH, cleaning the MH or GC, putting in a new mod (currently a flat screen TV in front), or whatever. We keep Disney near the front of our minds. :partythree:
