  1. I have to believe its location has something to do with that. It's kind of "out there" for a central FL tourist attraction. Of course, when Cypress Gardens was first built in the 1930's, it wasn't at all "out there". It became a destination in its own right, and being close to several major north-south highways (at that time) such as US 27 and 98, certainly helped funnel the cars in. I imagine, in particular, during the post-WWII era when Americans were hitting the highways but before the Interstates took over, the place was a hit. It's proximity to major highways of the day is actually q
  2. Maybe all that fill at the Stolport is going to be used to build up the land at Castaway Cay for the new DVC. How long is that conveyor?
  3. Don't worry. I may be highly intelligent and extremely good looking, but I'm humble.
  4. Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas. No siempre cierran apropiadamente, y BandAids mantiene estos autos juntos.
  5. There used to be 17 cabanas on the family beach, and 4 at Serenity Bay, as noted on this map. But at some point, they built 4 more cabanas at the Family beach, and re-numbered the Serenity Bay cabanas from 18-21 to 22-25, as per the current map below. So, current cabana 22 used to be cabana 18, and they figured that nobody would ever notice that the nautical flags no longer match up with the cabana number.
  6. They are called Nanny Chairs. Back in the Victorian era, there were chairs like those at amusement parks for the children's caregiver to rest while the kids rode a ride, like a Merry go Round.
  7. Thanks for the review. I hope to plan a trip to the Ark Encounter and that looks to be within a half hour or so. I like Kentucky Horse Park but full hookups are nice.
  8. You better watch that Mama Della. She's got her hand pretty far around Jason. What exactly is she reaching for?
  9. I bet the people who stayed in your cabin before you were wondering why they were always early for their ADRs.
  10. I think 600 is one of the better bets for satellite. About half the sites are somewhat open compared to much of the Fort. Probably makes sense to mention satellite if you put in a loop request.
  11. So when you say they were "recovering from a night at Trader Sam's", do you mean recovering from the alcohol, or from the size of the check at the end of the evening?
  12. Don't they use Chevy Traverses rather than mini vans?
  13. No, you spent $31 to get pics of her with Mickey, Minnie and the gang. The strawberries were a bonus.
  14. Yes. You can put anything on Tots and it'll taste good. Well, anything edible. Pulled pork. Chili. Spaghetti sauce and mozzarella. Kung Pao sauce. Chocolate tots with whipped cream....sure!
  15. That plate looks good. I'm a bit of a Tatertoteterian.
  16. I was wondering the same thing. Is Sea World doing this too? Or do they have different ownership now? I remember getting free beer at Sea World back in the day.
  17. I would guess "no" due to cross contamination concern. I bet Beckers requested an SDM item. So, what's an SDM item?
  18. No doubt, and if pool hopping becomes an issue for Deluxe and DVC properties they could always start doing the same, at least during problem times.
  19. Generally speaking, does it feel like US crams guests into the parks like Disney does these days? Or can you walk, breath, and sort of enjoy yourself?
  20. No thanks. I've put up with the sensation of a mouse running under my chair, and Stitch spitting in my face. But slithering snakes, and bugs crawling up my arm?? Why in the heck would I want that? Disney has already gotten us used to the feeling of them reaching into our pockets and emptying our wallets. I need to draw the line somewhere.
