My sources tell me they are replacing all of the existing fencing with chain link, as a means of testing the waters and conditioning Fort guests to accept this type of fencing.  Eventually, they will circle the Fort with chain link fencing, with barbed wire on top, as a deterrent to keep campers from entering the grounds of Reflections as well as the Four Seasons.  Although a memo to be delivered to Guests upon checkin will note that the fencing is designed to keep gators out of the camping loops.

Hey, you just reminded me that I was supposed to announce an upcoming event at Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino....Throwback Thursdays!  Wear your corsets and bring your buggy whips for no cover charge at the door, and half off well drinks.

Would it make him feel better if you told him that Dolly increased the cost of annual passes as well?  They jumped $15, from $114 to $129.

I love how the Mouse is able to create demand, thereby justifying higher pricing, simply by giving something a different name.  They could probably create a new category for the 2000 loop called "Cultural Exchange and Excessive Refreshment Campsites" and charge 25% more.

Has anyone at the Fort noticed any changes up in the Overflow lot?

All of the Friendly's in Buffalo recently closed too.  Sad.
Since my wife and I grew up with Friendly's, we took our girls to one 10 years ago while staying at Normandy Farms.  I remember they had a kid's sundae that looked like a Clown Head...here's a picture I took of the menu when we went.

Well, I offered it to my 3 year old (now 13 y/o), and she started screaming "NOOO!!!!  Not the clown head!  I don't want the clown head!!!"
We almost had to leave the restaurant she was causing such a scene.  I got her to calm down finally and just got her a plain sundae.  I guess that kid doesn't like clowns.

90% of them will become expensive pencil holders.  The other 10% will be broken by wives throwing them at their husbands after they ride on those non-air conditioned body odor absorbing human sweat boxes in August.

So as it turned out, all the fretting and cleaning we did getting the old camper ready to trade was probably a waste.  They never even opened the door, or heck even asked us for the keys (we left them hanging out of the door).  No one ever even looked to see if it was the actual camper we told them we were trading in - LOL!  They just said "yeah you can leave it there".
Towed the new camper home - holy crap on a cracker!  We knew (or at least hoped) that going to a camper that was 5' shorter and 2,000 lbs lighter would make a difference towing, and DH bought a new hitch as well. We towed it home through the mountains of VT and I almost forgot it was back there!  I was able to easily do 65mph up and down the hills - heck I even passed a jeep that for some reason was doing about 45.  I could tell the minute we pulled off the lot and made DH laugh all the way home with frequent comments about how awesome it was towing.  The new barometer for ease of towing is, "I could even drive and eat a sandwich!"
And we laughed pretty hard when I said, "So... you're actually carrying on a conversation and not sitting there pale as a ghost looking like you're going to pass out."
To which DH replied, "Yeah and did you notice I haven't grabbed the door handle once?!"
The kicker was when he said, "Why didn't we do this sooner??"
Yesterday was moving in day.  Somehow this camper that's 5' shorter feels a good bit bigger than our last one, and after loading in all the essentials, I still have empty drawers/cabinets!
    Some pics...

I didn't take pics of the bedroom. Picture standard-issue camper bedroom with queen bed and just enough room to walk around it.
And not even kidding - it came with purple keys!

And fun bonus: I can put magnets on the fridge!!

DH has already removed the dining table/chairs and is in the middle of installing crates with bar to follow.  He probably won't finish before we use it Memorial Day weekend, but I'll be sure to post pics when he does.
