  1. Ok dinner is done so hopefully I can get this next post going. It will be a little one. We left off on Friday, the kids ate lunch and went for a swim in the pool before the rain. When we got back from the pool, it was nap time for DS6 and DD4. They didn't really sleep, just watched good old channel 96. I sat outside under the awning and looked at the sky to see what we were in for. We were pretty lucky and missed the heavy rain that day. After some mild showers the rain was done for the rest of our trip. Here is DS6's camper drawing with chalk. After eating a pizza from Trails End we we
  2. I can't wait to see how this plays out! Although gory details frightens me a little.
  3. Thanks Dave! Only the ones I wrapped the tree straps around :rofl2: , oh and the ones the kids were standing on for the pictures. Just kidding, no trees were harmed, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I know, I got to thinking about this after looking at all of our photos. After the first day my fishing luck turned bad also. I agree, and it kind of makes me sad that our DS8 is almost at the age of not wanting to do those little things anymore. A couple more years for him and it will be much different. Thank you for reading! I hope to get another one posted tonight. Thank you!
  4. Thursday I was up before the sun (as usual), and went to do a little fishing. I always hit the canal behind the 300 loop in the mornings since I usually have good luck there. This morning I decided to fish off the old cement dock across from the cabin by Bay Lake. On my third cast I caught a very nice bass. I'm guessing he was in the 4-5lb range. First the blurred shot. Now one with the flash. I then walked over to the canal and tried my luck. I caught one more small one (not photo worthy). I looked down and this caught my eye. I guess someone doesn't want construction to begin anytime
  5. Thanks! We were lucky to get a site on such short notice. And it was in one of our favorite loops as well. We had a blast, the kids went like mad all three days. I'm going to try and get in the next post before I doze off. Thanks for joining in! Thank you for reading. It will be fast and furious once I get it organized. Thanks! I even have a fish picture to post next. You know it. They LOVED the hammock. I laughed when they showed me their shirts. We had to bag up the clothes because they were soaked.
  6. I told myself I wasn't going to post a trip report since there will be multiple reports over the next couple of weeks, but what the heck right? We were lucky enough to book a last minute 3 night stay at the Fort beginning Thursday 6/30 and arriving home, well about 2 hours ago. I found out over this past weekend that I was able to take a long weekend so we made arrangements to visit our favorite place. I have to work tomorrow, so we could not stay for all the fun events that take place Monday. Hopefully this report will hold everyone's interest until the big dogs return from their visits. I
  7. Enjoying your report and photos! And for all you fisherman out there, I have caught some decent sized bass right here in the area TCD posted. The water looks pretty bad right now though. I may have to give it a shot sometime soon!
  8. :bravo: Great report Dave! I really enjoyed it, and it is fun to see the great time you had with your daughters! Can't wait for your next one.
  9. Great photos of the Fort. I always see something new that I have missed when looking at all the trip reports. In your report, I have never ever seen the signs in front of the trees with the description on them. I love Fort photos and never tire of seeing them. Can't wait for more.
  10. Great pictures guys! I have seen these at the Fort also. It is pretty cool when they are in your backyard.
  11. I've seen enough 6-8ft reasons in my visits to the Fort to know exactly what you are saying.
  12. Great report! We have talked about visiting KSC, but have had reservations. I have not been since grade school and didn't remember much. I think a trip is in our near future now, especially when you stated there was quite a bit to do. Thanks for sharing!
  13. LOL! Wade fishing for bass! I have seen it all. I know that they sell little tubes to fish in freshwater, but wading? That is just hilarious! Well done Andrew, if anyone would catch this during a trip it would be you. And great report as usual.
  14. Great update Dave! I too, love to read historical markers and look at landmarks. The kids are still pretty young and are patient now, but I have a feeling that will change as they grow older. Being fresh off a vacation from Charleston and my new fascination with Ghosts, when I saw the picture of the Dam I thought it was the Hales Bar Marina and Dam. There was a recent episode filmed there and it was pretty good. http://hauntedhalesbar.webs.com/ I love the pictures and can't wait for more.
  15. Nice job! I gotta say, I thought the original product looked good. That was until I saw the refinished product! Wow, that looks awesome! Great job! And, we live about 10 minutes from Holiday in New Port Richey, very close to SR 54.
  16. Awesome! I love the last minute idea. Keep it coming, this is a great report!
  17. I had to clean it up post shot, since I took it though our window. I didn't want to disturb him.
  18. This is unacceptable. No food pictures from you Dave? Ok, now I forgive you :) Can't wait for more!
  19. Wow! That view for that price is outstanding. And is that a walking path down by the lake? Even better if so. I can't wait to hear more of this report. I have a tradition we just started where I take one of our children with me a day early to set up and have some time together before the rest of the gang arrives. I'm interested to see how you handle 5! This is going to be a great report!
  20. Great start! I can't wait to surprise my kids like that when they get older. We have started to do things on a smaller scale like this and the excitement on their faces is priceless. I love the Cars shots. I think we are going to see it this weekend. And I think the coloring photos are hilarious!
  21. This report is great! And I have to agree with S70 about the sand, at least the sand on the east coast. That stuff does not like to wash off. Great pictures!
  22. This report is, as many have already stated, AWESOME! I love how the photos capture the amount of fun you all had during your trip. I'm glad you "dared" to post this report, we would have missed out on something very special indeed!
  23. I am loving your report! And while I also love all your pictures, this one really touches me. I'm glad you are sharing this part of your journey with us!
