  1. Great update. I had wondered about the MK closing so early last Friday night. I'm still trying to figure out who you have to know to get invited to one of those private parties. Awesome no-double-chin selfie. I was guessing that your cousin Yuri was the one who figured out that a refillable mug will hold exactly one beer. That sounds like something he would know. Glad you got to see KFK and the others. I had a bunch of fun seeing them. Looking forward to more!
  2. After a trip to the confectionary for my daughter, who rivals Elf in her love for sweets, we made it back to POR in time to relax for a little bit and then wait for the next big event – the arrival of Megan! Megan is Danielle’s very best friend in college, big sister in sorority and roommate for next semester, so she and Danielle are very tight. There was much rejoicing when she arrived. First, for old times sake, some faux photopass shots: I loved getting housekeeping every day while we were at POR, since we never get that when we book through DVC: We had perfect wea
  3. I still can't believe I missed y'all! But I'm glad you ran into some fun women too! :) Thanks! It's my favorite picture of us. Gotta get it framed. :) You rock! I was hoping someone would figure that out for me! I swear, it seemed longer than those distances, but that might be because I refuse to call a bellman and lugged my way too heavy suitcase back up to the front when we checked out. Thanks, Kelly!!
  4. Page 1!!!!!! Ok, now that I've gone through and read, I can't believe y'all were down there last weekend! I really hate to have missed y'all. I didn't check to see if you would be there, just figuring that now that the girls' CPs were over, that you wouldn't. Should have known. I love how Twin #2 "allegedly" doesn't have classes on Friday. Sounds about like some of the allegations I periodically get from out west. Was one of the 2 dogs wearing a cone of shame? We had the same problem with the blue FP once, when we definitely had FPs for Peter Pan. She believed me when I showe
  5. Ack! No, sadly. I started working on this TR before the final dates were firmed up for DeSoto, and then forgot to revise that part out. I'll definitely be in Honduras that weekend. But, I'll be wanting to hear all about the fun and I'll definitely try again next time! Thanks!! Thanks, Rennie! You're right - whenever Anna is around, there are lots of great hugs! And yes, we were really having a great time!
  6. Friday Of course I woke up before the teenager, so I walked over and grabbed breakfast from the Riverside Mill CS. I found out the hard way that while a few of the grab and go areas open at 6:00 a.m., the good stuff isn’t available till 7:00. Nevertheless, I managed to get some pancakes for Danielle and of course a Mickey waffle for me once everything opened. I noticed that they had Mickey waffles that were much bigger than the usual standard size I’ve ever seen in the restaurants before. I brought Princess Danielle her breakfast in bed, which seemed to be the best way to get her moving
  7. Thanks!! Geez. I can't believe I didn't get that without asking. Wow - to do that by herself is really something. From what I hear, Tegucigalpa can be very dangerous if you're not exceptionally careful or in a safe area. I'm so glad that she's okay now but I hate that her health issues cut her mission work short. Danielle is still trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life but mission work is calling her hard.
  8. Thanks! It was a great trip, beginning to end! We really did have a great time, and now that Danielle is so far away so much of the time, I really did treasure every moment. Thanks! We think we're lots of fun! Oh my gosh - you're going to love POR! Please take lots of pics and do a report when you get back! I think they have several different room configurations there so it would be interesting to see what you end up in. If you want any particular area or any other room request, I heard that they still pay attention to requests that are faxed in 4-5 days in advance
  9. Thursday, January 1: Danielle and I initially planned to fly out later in the day on New Years Day, but the day before the trip, I switched everything around and we left in the morning, arriving at MCO around 1:20 p.m. We were hit immediately by the warmth and humidity – a welcome change compared to yucky winter weather at home and some really, really cold weather for Danielle in Wyoming, where it snowed as early as September and went down to -18F with a “feels like” of -38F in November. We were both loving the much warmer weather. Of course, when it’s just 2 people together (at
  10. Yay! Thanks! In my wildest imagination, I don't think I could ever write enough to come close to some of TCD's, but this one has potential to be a longer one for me. Glad you're with us!
  11. Thanks, Nacole! Glad you're here! Actually, it's a very sad face. We leave to go home today!!! Thanks, Tom!
  12. Thanks, Kelly! I love yours too! We're actually leaving WDW on trip #2 tomorrow so I've got to finish packing up, but I'll have the next installment up tomorrow.
  13. Thanks! Glad you're here! Yay! Thanks! It's not the first time we've celebrated an anniversary at WDW and I know it won't be the last! Thanks! Thanks! Glad you're here! Thanks, Carol! El Hogar is a wonderful place! Where was your cousin? And I hope the sickness was just temporary! Hey Yvonne! Honestly, Megan's rhino face was so scary that I don't think I could post it. Y'all would never read one of my reports again. I'm not sure I even kept it. It was that bad. And yes, the Honduras trip is exactly why I won't be at Desoto. I really
  14. Just made my way through this whole report and absolutely love it. Since I'm about a month behind, there are too many things to comment on, but I'll say that I totally agree that Christmas in a tiki hut appears to be absolutely glorious. Also, and more importantly, thanks for sharing Paige's story with us. You have a beautiful family and the history that you have just makes your family even more special. Congrats to Paige and to all of you for 10 years!
  15. So, this report is going to include two trips to WDW with stays at a total of 3 WDW resorts. Of course, all 4 parks were visited multiple times, many wonderful meals were eaten and fun rides were ridden. And that will take up the majority of this trip report. But you’ve got to hang in there till the end, or at least check back in with us later, as that will be when we get to the best part – a trip to the most wonderful place on earth: an orphanage in Tegucigalpa, Honduras called El Hogar. Danielle and I are blessed to get to spend a week there in March, and that will be how we wrap up this
  16. Awesome report, as always! But this one was extra fun as it was almost all new stuff to me - new parks, new hotels, new everything! One question that occurred to me since you mentioned the Disneyland CP - does WDW let kids ever come back for a second or subsequent CP? Thanks!
  17. As much as I've read about DL and how compact everything is, I still can't get over that you left your room and 6 minutes later were in a park. Or that you could so easily plan to grab a FP in one park when you're leaving the other park on your way to go back to the hotel. And yes, I'm working hard on my girls to try the CP. If that ends up working out, a trip to DL will most assuredly be in the plan!
  18. Caught up again! Still absolutely loving this TR, especially now that you're at the Grand Californian. That view! So very cool. I know I'm always saying the same thing, but one day... We've just got to go there. Too many things to comment on, but I was glad to hear why the HM out there has a "real" stretching room. I knew it was an elevator but had no idea why. :) Continuing to look forward to more!
  19. Fun updates. Love a good celebrity sighting, even if the twins had no idea who he was! I had no idea it got dark so early out there! Obviously in the winter the days would be shorter, but still - that seems so early to have the sun go down. Looking forward to seeing your room at the Grand Californian!
  20. Okay, I got waaaaaay behind but am all caught up now! Too many entries for me to be able to remember everything I wanted to comment about, but I do remember that I love all the Olaf inflatables. I'm going to have to look for one for us. (For our house - we're that family in the neighborhood.) We just got back on Tuesday from an impromptu New Years trip and had the same experience it looks like y'all had - early mornings were easy - no crowds! They definitely picked up as the day wore on, but it was totally worth it for us to get up and out early, even with teenagers. :o That was on
  21. Absolutely loved reading about their CP adventures. Thanks!!!
  22. Still loving this report. Really, really makes me want to go out there soon. I'm with everyone else on the giant head people. Eek.
  23. First, I'm in! Can't wait for this report! Second, I truly can't believe the pixie dust you got on your business trip to the MK! That's really awesome! Third, Z's face is just too cute when he found out about the trip! Finally, y'all are such a cute family!
  24. What a beautiful boy and how blessed all of you are to be getting each other!
