  1. Anytime! Maybe I can trade 2 dogs and a cat for 1 teen for the weekend. Better yet, you and I can send the teens, dog and cat in together and you and I can just go to dinner.
  2. Thanks for the info! We still haven't been yet but I keep thinking about taking a group of teens there. This is good info. And like Kelly said, welcome! :)
  3. Page 1! Can't wait to see pics whenever you get them working!
  4. What an amazing story you all have together. Thanks for continuing to post. :)
  5. Both times we've driven from Birmingham, we wound up going to WDW through Montgomery, Dothan, then on to I-10, etc. But on the way back, we went through Atlanta. Both times, we decided that Atlanta is better - fewer stops and starts and therefore overall faster. But, there is an element of risk depending on what's happening in Atlanta when you happen to pass through. We were lucky both times.
  6. Bubba Gumps looks really cool, and y'all look like you're having a great time. Looking forward to the next installment!
  7. Really, really great report! Looking forward to seeing/camping with y'all again soon!
  8. No way that's it. Gotta be more strangeness.
  9. x3. Maybe a friend of a face character?
  10. Mobile Azalea Trail - gotta be Mobile, Alabama. They're big on azaleas down there.
  11. Good updates. Definitely looking forward to hearing what you have to say about FP+!
  12. Lars was absolutely the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread. Good times... Please share! I want to see that one too!
  13. Thanks, Dave! Happy Easter to you and all yours! It was amazing getting to go, and especially with Danielle! Thanks, Yvonne! Thanks! Thanks, Andrew. It was an amazing experience that I am blessed to have gotten to participate in. Yes, but not as much as we are still talking about them. :) Thanks to all, and Happy Easter!
  14. Love love love the bus arrival time things at POR. That was so great when we were there in January. Kidani had one as well. I'm hoping that they expand them to all the stops everywhere.
  15. I was wondering the same - how they were handling the 4th and the tiering at HS.
  16. Monday and Tuesday were fairly similar in that we spent the days working on the project that El Hogar had planned for us – moving cinder blocks across campus and then using them to construct a wall which would allow them to reformat an unused space in one building into a larger art room for the kids. We started Monday morning, though, at the devotional that the kids have once a week. This was a fairly long gathering, including a video and a skit that some of the kids put on about honesty. Apparently, they focus on one character trait each week. They also recognized all the kids having a bi
  17. Hey guys! Thanks first of all to everyone who commented and is still reading. This time I’m just going to jump right into the report instead of doing individual replies, as I’m just so anxious to tell y’all about my week in Honduras. Before telling you about the trip, let me tell you a little bit about where we went. Smack in the middle of Tegucigalpa, Honduras – a city riddled with poverty and crime – is an oasis called El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza (which I believe means “The Home of Love and Hope”). El Hogar is an orphanage, but it is not the type of orphanage I think of when I think
  18. Oh my gosh. I was sooooooooo behind but now I'm all caught up. RFBR - You actually had me belly laughing on that one. And yes, Anna is definitely doing the rhino. Next time, we'll have to get the rest of the DIT gang working on their rhino faces. I'm crossing my fingers for Defeated Creek. It was really great getting to see y'all that day. Danielle loved getting to meet all of you, but Anna is of course always a highlight. Awesome non-TR. Looking forward to the rest, though I suspect we've got some bombs and turds in the relative near future.
  19. I'm in! Looking forward to more strangeness. :)
  20. First, I want to say that this thread has forced me to waste entirely too much time today! I decded that in the interest of figuring out how we've been using our DVC membership since we bought it in the summer of 2012 (direct from Disney) and then added on around fall of 2013 (resale). So far, we've gone on 8 trips using DVC points that I can remember, including a week at Aulani. It's far too advanced math for me to figure out whether it was worth it, on a financial basis only, for us to do it through DVC rather than through WDW, but I definitely believe that it has been worth it overall for
  21. I think SSR for a week during the summer for a 1BR would be 241 points. OKW (which I like lots better - bigger rooms, better ambiance, in my opinion) would be slightly less at 222. For dues, our dues this year for SSR were $1151. We have 220 points there. Last year they were $1072 for the same contract. So obviously they can and do go up. I believe that the dues are higher for the older properties like OKW and SSR as the maintenance can be higher. We also own a smaller contract at Vero and the dues there are pretty high, based from what I hear on location (storms on the beach, etc.)
